- Back again with more multiplayer Scrap Mechanic! Today we are competing in a really weird race with pendulums on top of our vehicles! Each person must build a vehicle that is lightweight and carries a massive, heavy pendulum to balance throughout the entire course!

They all cheat in their own way. Scrap man tends have already tried the challenges, kAN fudges with the lift, but at the end of the day they are all good sports about it.

On a similar note - have you ever tried welding a large tree vertically to your car and driving?
Bonus points to the player with the tallest tree
I tried this once in my survival world to move trees back to my base and my suspension got mega compressed and then the game died
What I would have done, and what I thought Kan was doing during the timelapse until I saw testing, was have sensors on either side of the pendulum. When a sensor detected the pendulum swinging, it would extend the pistons on that side as far as they could go (within the rules) to move the center of gravity.
Nothing in the rules, as presented, stops you from simply locking the pendulum in place :v
When you put the suspention i thought you were gonna go with automated active cancelation, though I'm not sure how well that would have worked with scrap physics
Combine Moonbo's mechanism, Kan's mechanism, add some suspension, and maybe some sensors, and it would have the best chance of not falling....
@Ablee The reason for the suspension is to help absorb the pendulum force. If the vehicle is tilted towards the right and the pendulum is to the right of the middle of it then nothing would happen. But it the pendulum sharply goes left then the suspension would remove some of the force that would happen. Due to it being in Scrapmechanic, I'm not fully sure if the game engine would logic it properly, but I do know it should help in some instances.
I think I would go with a variation on Moonbo's idea where you just put bearings on the pendulum. Alternatively, put a counterweight in the other direction.
I like how you and scrapman just went along with the april fools thing you did at the begining where you and scrapman switched places

The amount of inside jokes was way to many during the intro
I got a dumb idea but here me out, lean the entire pendulum assembly into the corners, have it on like 2 bearings at the bottom and have those powered with a controller set to 25°

Yes and have it so you have to put the seat and engine on the pendulum so it has complete freedom and it can be something like 16 by 16 or something bigger

Take Moonbo's idea, but tilt just the pendulum frame using sensors...
Next video idea, a mystery build as you go race.
Community members build a course for you to race over with a number of objective stations that are simple and obvious.
You can't look at the course and have 15 minutes to build a vehicle with no thrusters, no glitches.
Once the race begins, you can add to your vehicle, including thrusters IF the checkpoint is made from thrusters, but not delete anything from your vehicles.
The first to complete all the challenges and cross the finish line is the winner.
Idea for multiplayer Monday: Mobile Crafting Challenge
(apologies for the lengthy description)
Scavenger/Relay race to deliver 256 Brick Blocks and 256 Wood Blocks , (your inventions cannot contain wood or brick blocks)
However, the race would require the player to pickup items at several points around the map:
(2) Resource Collectors
(25) scrap stone 'logs' - enough to fill one resource collector
(25) scrap wood 'logs' - enough to fill one resource collector
(2) Refinebots
(4) Large Chests - One of which contains (6) scrap stone blocks and another contains (6) scrap wood blocks
(2) Craftbots
The winner would be the first player to reach /return to the start line and place a 16x16 section of brick and another section of wood.
- So you could choose to place items on your vehicle and connect them as you pick them up so they are being refined and crafted while moving. - But that means building a massive long vehicle capable of carrying all the weight. Another option would be to pick up the items an bring them back for placement/assembly at the start line.
Its up to the players to decide which option they wish to build towards.
- An additional option would be to play in teams and actually have to harvest with drills/saws the materials needed - one player builds a mining machine, the other builds a logger (unsure if creative mode supports mining/logging yet).
It would be cool to see you create an auto-stabilizing pendulum truck, on your own, if it’s even possible.

design wise you won this time kan. i was thinking something similar.
KANs shifting sides idea would have actually been really REALLY good, if he complimented it with a similar system of counter weight 3 state piston. Like just a tower of weight 2 blocks that shifted from one side to the other that could surpass the weight of the level 3 metal.
They used level 3 concrete for the pendulum, as its the heaviest block in the game.
@@tempestrage257 Yes, that's why they would need ALOT of level 2 blocks to counter it, hence why I called it a "tower". As in, giganto-normous. They had no height limit, only width limit.

Not certain if this would work, but did you consider crab steering? It seems to me like it would negate a lot of the force of the pendulum.
Everyone has different conditions. Piston engine vs no wheels vs no seat vs one of every block... Just as an example.
I think Kan actually had a decent vehicle concept for this challenge. It was a good idea. He just sucked at driving it.

i counted the times kan reset his vehicle behind where he crashed:0
i didnt count the total amount of times kan reset his vehicle.....but it was close to 30 times.

Why'd they abandon suspension? if anything you want more suspension with a challenge like this so it can drift out and correct itself...

Next challenge a double pendulum like a pendulum hanging from another pendulum to make it even more unpredictable
The drawing has it hanging from a central point so it can swing in every direction. Not just left and right.
Multuplayer Monday idea: racing vehicles upside down because adaptation is the key to vehicle success
Should have rotated the pendulum from the base of its swing, that way you can keep the pendulum’s weight directly over your vehicle’s chassis!

So couldn’t you have built the car so that the pendulum would swing forward in backward instead of side to side? I feel like that would have made the race a lot easier?

you could just have slapped a ton of blocks so the moving part does not matter, at all

Yeah. I tried a similar build to this and built a tank, worked pretty well, at least better than theirs did. Tank steering is the solution to everything.
