Part 10: • The DOC on Talking Dr ...
Part 1: • The DOC on Growing Up ...
    --------
In this clip, The D.O.C. talked about the cast of creatives coming together to make the classic "The Chronic" album despite everyone's collective turmoil. He said there wasn't much difference between the Death Row sessions and NWA sessions except the street element began to dominate the process. Despite the increased danger, D.O.C. noted that Suge Knight and Snoop Dogg always made sure he was protected.

Em and 50 were already being sought after by major execs (just like Kendrick) and they chose Dre but they already were on the cusp of blowing up. If you believe that, then Puff created more stars cause he introduced more people to nobodies than Dre. Dre has even said, Em saved his career. 🤫

@@mindbully it's called respect, what are they supposed to say. I'm sure Justin Timberlake would give Timbaland a ton of credit for him becoming a star, although he was already making noise with N'sync. Because Dre's production helps an artist sell records, doesn't mean he made them a star. Dre has produced plenty of songs for people. Did Kanye make John Legend a star? Manny Fresh make Lil Wayne a star? Come on man, when artists ALREADY have a following, they are gonna blow, it's just a matter of how big. Who they align themselves with determines the trajectory, we are talking about already talented artists.

Those two albums changed the game and i remember wanting both albums so bad. Watching Dre Day on MTV,nuthin but a G thang baby, snoops whats my name and Gin and juice were all major hits that i would watch the videos for. Such a great time to be a teenager and a fan of good music. The early to mid 90's were a special time for anyone. The Bulls and MJ,Baseball was great,49ers vs Cowboys rivalry,Deathrow records were amazing,MTV was bumping,In Living Colour was great and award shows were fun to watch and the OJ Simpson trial had everyone engrossed. DOC’s story is a trip. He was a rapper at the top of the game. His livelihood and career was strictly because of his words and voice. Then tragedy strikes and he has an accident, which he ends up surviving, but loses the one thing that made him who he was… his voice. Wow. Talk about a test from God. I hope he turns into a positive.
