Dundee Beach
What an amazing place!
We stayed at Base Camp at Dundee, a newly opened campground with big private shady sites, just $35 p/n power & water onsite, quirky amenities with hot showers & flushing toilets, a dump point & a tank pool being installed. $25 unpowered.
Other options are the Holiday Park, many other retreats & campgrounds can be found on WikiCamps & Hipcamp, and “Native Point Track” is a free campground along the beach with 2 different access track’s which are narrow in places, probably needing a high clearance vehicle, definitely dry conditions only access, just go around the right side of the sign now blocking the left hand side of the road at the end of Namarada Drive.
Things to do - There are many good land based fishing area’s all along the coast line of Dundee Beach, our favourite was Finniss River Mouth day use area, we caught Mulloway, Thread-Fin Salmon, huge Mud Crabs & lots of Catfish. Also from here we saw plenty of Crocodiles, Dolphins, Stingrays & an abundance of different birds, hawks & eagles. Stingray Head is also good fishing for Blue Nose Salmon. All tracks out here are 4WD only with a soft sand beach crossing, there are 2 tracks you can take 1 via the beach & 1 via a dirt track, both require the beach crossing after Stingray Head and access is on private property via the Finniss River Station, unfortunately the Free campgrounds here have been closed due to the mess that was being left.
