    They make pads that will not bite into soft metal. I made my own by taking sheet metal, hammering it around my vise and gluing several layers of leather to the jaw faces. Thanks for the tip

    I bet there are a lot of things that rubber strap wrench can be useful for. Everything has gotten so expensive now and that strap wrench can save the day.

      @@paul528i Yeah this works best for upper and lower rad hoses with access. If you're up inside or under the engine bay with no clearance, may just have to work back and forth with the hand until it breaks free. Sometimes can use a pick to get in between the hose to break loose then pull off. Lastly there is a specialty 'shark tooth' style radiator hose pliers that might work too.
