Competitive swimmer here. Swim caps aren't meant to keep your hair dry or keep the chlorine out. The purpose of the cap is to keep the water and hair out of your face.

I absolutely love co-washing my hair every day. And I find it behaves better (less tangled, grows faster etc) when I wash more often during the week. But it makes me a bit sad when my curls are popping on day two and I know I’m gonna wet it 😂

I just recently discovered the Dickey Method. Just like when I was relaxing my hair, now that I’m natural, I’ve reached a plateau with growth. It’s healthier and longer now than ever since I’m natural, but I think I’m stuck because of dryness.
My hair is not getting the moisture it needs, so I’ve been binge watching videos of women who are using this (Dickey) method to hear their thoughts and see their results. I’m convinced this is going to take my hair growth and health to the next level.👍🏼

A lot of times that means that one of the products isn't agreeing with your hair and drying out your hair causing webbing. Could be too much protein because I noticed with certain products I get it and I stopped using them and my hair even though type 4 easily seperates and detangles without webbing. Even some gels can have too much hold and cause the hair to web. I get that with Wetline. But my other gels has slip and my strands seperates easy💯

Am I the only one who only washes her hair twice per month and does not remoisturize between wash days? If I wet my hair between wash days my hair becomes dry, frizzy and tangle-prone. If I leave my hair alone in the twists, finger coils and wash and gos, my hair is fine by wash day. That is why as you say, knowing your hair is important.

@@amberblack1009 this. Depending on how much build up you get on your hair from products will determine how easy it will be to get moisture back in your hair during the week and whether you can pile on more product. Also why you never want overdo it with the amount of product you apply at once.
Butters, castor oil, and silicones, and of course grease, should all be used no more than 1-2x a week and need to be washed with a thorough shampoo session. A little goes a long way for all.
Definitely no more than once a week with grease and sulfates need to be used as you know.

@@rosalynmartin519 Thanks for asking! It's gone very well! I transitioned for a total of 18 months before chopping off the relaxed ends and my hair has really thrived since! It's still a learning process, but I mostly keep my hair in protected styles so it is very healthy and thick and I'm enjoying learning and seeing my real curls, although wash days are long. I get a lot of compliments when I wear my hair natural. In terms of length, when stretched it's nearing bra straps. My last relaxer was December 2020 for reference. I plan out my styles in advance, I like closures and braids as my go to protective styles, but take breaks after from tension as well and make sure to deep condition and protein treat regularly. Leaving my hair alone and using heat sparingly for the most part has done wonders.

And then one more thing lol but try out different products because your scalp could be sensitive to something in your shampoos/conditioners/ leave ins or it could not like a particular oil. Some people say that the longer their hair gets, the more they see this happens. I would agree with that. Also, because of our hair textures and curl patters, it just makes it more prone to do that. Friction, from when we're laying down for example, contributes to that. There are just so many factors but I try to keep it stretched and I detangle at least once a week. Doesn't solve the issue entirely but it helps ❤️sorry you're experiencing those pesky webs though love
