As one women to another, also a wife, the mother gets to say you fucked up and I won't support you. So easy for Sally to say, " You have to get over it someday" when she is one of the 2 villains of this story. Karma always comes Sally!

I work on the emergency room, the amount of dads (one mom and one uncle so far) that fall off roofs on Christmas eve is insane/comical but also very lovely that parents still do these things!!!

I’m sorry, NO. The mom is 0% TA for banning the sister. Frankly I would have banned the husband FOREVER, and the sister until she can make amends in a way that makes HER comfortable with having you around her. Not just for Christmas, I would refuse to even see her until she accepts what she did was wrong and makes it right.

My dad actually got his proposal rejected by my mom the first time he asked but succeeded the second time. I know I was TA in this situation but after a while he would begin teasing me whenever we hung out with my roommates. One day he went too far so I threw out that he was moving in with tinder girl after knowing her for 2 months and planning to propose at month 6 after saving up 6 months worth of salary. He acted like I was crazy but after some time he admitted to everything, they were living together ALREADY though. They moved in at 3 weeks!! He was getting her a puppy as a 2 month gift! They only dated for 2 years. He acts like he doesn’t know her and was mad that he transferred to her college and was mad that he set himself back 2 years for changing majors to hers and quitting his job to work at her workplace supposedly all per her request. He has a new gf now and they’re more normal from what I see. Idk. Seeing all the red flags made ME step back from the friendship

I found 1 person out of about 50 dates/conversations on plenty of fish here in the UK. Ive been with him for over 9 years now, 2 kids, new careers and setting up a home together. Go on a date with someone that doesn't involve alcohol and that includes dinner. If someone suggests alcohol then they just want to get in your pants. My Santa is not real reveal was quite funny. I always asked my mum when my little brother was close so she said he's real and then one day when i was nearly 9 my mum told me so i would stop asking and make my little brother question Santa's existence too. Bro I was having a garage day at school during like fourth grade. I had a test and our computer day was canceled. Why do people treat family differently than anyone else they know when they do something unforgivable? You don't need to forgive family, and you CAN end your relationship with them. It's that simple.

I found 1 person out of about 50 dates/conversations on plenty of fish here in the UK. Ive been with him for over 9 years now, 2 kids, new careers and setting up a home together. Go on a date with someone that doesn't involve alcohol and that includes dinner. If someone suggests alcohol then they just want to get in your pants. My partner took me go karting on our first date and a walk along the river. A heavily populated river I'll just add 😂. It was amazing!
I agree 100% about the alcohol. That won't alone won't get rid of all the red flags, but at least they will be easier to see.

My Santa is not real reveal was quite funny. I always asked my mum when my little brother was close so she said he's real and then one day when i was nearly 9 my mum told me so i would stop asking and make my little brother question Santa's existence too. I told my mum I wouldn't tell my brother if I get to eat the cookies and drink the chocolate milk she put out for Santa with my brother, so for 3 years I ate Santa's cookies. My sister is 10 years younger and all 3 of us put in the most effort so she'd believe longer. She started questioning at 12 but she was always so adorable waiting for Santa we couldn't do it. 😂

😂😂 According to my grandmother, me and my twin sister believed in santa up until the end of kindergarten. After we got into 1st grade, my parents asked if we still believed in Santa and we both said nope... But no one actually told us that Santa wasn't real. We just kinda came to that conclusion on our own😂😂 Also drinking through straws is perfectly fine.

OP in story one: TBF in my family... my family would have let them have it out and hidden all the weaponry. The talk between my older sister and her girls: She wouldn't cut off her daughter but my sister would have respected their choice to not come to holidays. But yeah everyone sitting back watching the fight would have happened (cuz it was bound to happen knowing my nieces or my nephews... they all have sibling rivalries that I just don't understand)
Story 2: I have been through similar experiences. It's like the guy is dating her as a novelty to piss off his father. Other than the fact that he's stunningly awkward and doesn't understand social queues. But the whole instant marriage thing is yes because he probably just wanted to cross something off of a bucket list. The roommate's reaction to her said a lot. A Trump supporter whose father wants to be in the KKK is dating a black woman. I don't know if the dude is just saying things that are the most shocking thing ever to troll her in real life. But I know guys who do that as a way of communication because they think it's fine. After all, they talk to their friends that way why would a stranger think it's not okay.

So I found out santa wasnt real when I was either in kindergarten or first grade because I looked into my parents' closet when they told me not to.
My little brother was begging me not to open the door, but like any curious kid unsupervised during the holidays, I took a peek. They had gotten me and my brother a barbie dream castle that lit up and played music. I knew it was for both of us because we both loved to playing with barbies, but my brother was the one who really wanted it.
I asked him not to snitch on me peeking, hoping he didnt see what was inside, but he told my aunt, who told my parents, who later came to us to break the sad news lmao.
Looking back, I really was a little devil for spoiling santa so young, but I mean, come on! I wanted to know what they were hiding!!
Me and my husband met and engaged month later and married 8 months after that and had our first child about 1 year from the meeting each other first time. And now we have been together 8years and going strong. Ofcourse we have had our ups and downs but we have grown to be a strong team as a family and love each other and our children. Bro I was having a garage day at school during like fourth grade. I had a test and our computer day was canceled. The second I got into my moms car I said “I can’t wait to see what Santa gave me this year” and my mom just nonchalantly said “huh? Oh, Santa isn’t real”. And I just sat there like “😐” I’m pretty sure she just didn’t realize what she had said because every winter she told me that Santa was going to bring me my gifts.
