I was excited like a puppy when they changed the VIE-KLU route to an ATR72 after watching this channel for a while. (It used to be a Dash-8 in the early 2000s, then a E195 the last years, and since this year an ATR-72). Flew the route with the ATR to see my family this summer.
Would have been great to show us what you were flying and do the walk around... just a viewer and glad you made the video. :) Mentor mentioned your channel so had to check it out.
Thank you for this very interesting flight , Could you please include check list info and procedures similarly on future flights. This makes it very worthwhile .
Gosh, I wouldn't have believed there were REAL flights so short (although it's quite obvious in fact in some areas). All in all, my 'test' flights with the ATR 42 within MSFS are longer (but mainly because I continue to be an unexperienced guy who struggles to learn to do something in flight simulators - basically MSFS v4 in early nineties, X-Plane in early 2000s and now MSFS since 2023 - after so many years, I am afraid). Thank you Captain Magnar, and F.O. and Flight Attendant for the awesome experience you all shared with us. Cheers, and of course, happy landings, 💪🏼
First time in an ATR Male to Kudahuvadoo last month. Really felt like it was a solid safe and comfortable airframe. I did think it was a very slim wing and shallow cord but guess that gives the performance. The suspected icing cause for the Brazilian tragedy would never cross my mind for a modern pressurised aircraft but certainly will cause some updates to protocols in these conditions. Such a horror watching it falling with no chance of a recovery at that angle and decent rate..
I have a question for your next Q&A. How is the COMPT TEMP indicator (the new digital version) on the overhead panel powered? I thought it was ACW, yet sometimes it’s lit up in hotel mode and sometimes it isn’t… I only ask because it’s nice to know if the packs are working, but if it’s not displaying anything, how can we? Thanks!
Hi Captain, in order to perform a static take off from a short runway, is it good to set TO power before releasing the brakes? I couldn't find anything about that in FCOM (ATR-72-600), in my experience, sometimes, brakes can't hold the plane with TO power set. Thnaks and regards
A static takeoff means the power is set before brake release. Otherwise, the take-off distance must be increased with 70 m (if I remember correctly.) Yes, the aircraft might start to skid on a wet runway.
It has happended to me once in 24 years. That was a short turnaround in hot weather where we had tailwind during start. ITT exceeded 800 degrees for a couple of seconds.
Hi Captain, thank you so much! A question if you don't mind: for climb, I noticed that sometimes it is used 160kt and sometimes 170kt. When do you use each of them? Thanks and have a wonderful day!
@@FlywithMagnar Thank you so much capt! Tomorrow I will fly for the first time in the observer seat of an ATR72-600 I am soo excited!! Your videos are invaluable

Hi Sir, I'm Pavel, a UA-cam video editor with experience in thumbnail design and SEO optimization to help videos rank well. I understand that as a pilot, you have a busy schedule, which makes it challenging to stay consistent with UA-cam. That's where I can help! I can take care of everything for you-creating, editing, designing thumbnails, optimizing, and even uploading videos-so you can focus on your flying career and enjoy your free time without the stress of managing your channel. My ultimate goal is to become a pilot myself, and I'm hoping to earn and save for my training through this work. If you're interested in collaborating or have any opportunities, I'd love to discuss how I can contribute to your success while working toward my dream. Looking forward to your response! Best regards, Pavel Reza Rion
Hello Capt. Good to see the Maldivian sky again, good memories, I was among of the first engineers for the first ATR introduced in the Maldives.
Superb viewing, what a heavenly place! From the Maldives to Fiji… Congratulations!
Tusen takk for videoen Captain! Kjempefint! 👏
wow, it's my first time to know there is a cute and tiny side window for transfering files lovely ATR
I bet you could use it to sneak in a sandwich or two if you're hungry during the turnaround time
🤣
The time on the ground was more than in the sky! Thank you caption, as usual.
Just fantastic, Capt. Magnar - thanks for the jump seat ride! Once again, greetings from Særp…! 😊
Fantastic video, THANK YOU for sharing the same 👍

Great video, you sure get those engines shut down fast!
Excelent video!
Hi Captain, nice to see other company procedures... For us on AT76, 8 min too from PPT to MOZ and from BOB to RFP.

Wonderful video, in all ways. I hope you treat yourself to a couple of nice ANR headsets!

Hi capt, did you hear about the very recent -500 accident in Brazil?

Hey magnar tuesday was 30 july also nice video!
Very interesting, I didn’t know some airlines had 2 FA on the ATR 42
So, in summary we can say that the paperless cockpit is as distant as the paperless office.
There are airline companies with paperless cockpits.
What is the black smoke we se out of captain window???
Work is in progress to extend the length of the runway. Maybe an asphalt boiler?
With such short turnarounds, do you ever have issues with hot starts/turbine temps?

Nice 👍✈️

ATR 42: 160 kt. ATR 72: 170 kt.

The consequences of flying with bacon off are too frightening to contemplate.
@@roscozone8092 For US-based carriers, inop Bacon would be a no-fly situation... 😆
