I was in really bad shape and no hope. Kesimpta is very important in keeping me from going back to the nightmare at the beginning of my version of this disease. Half a year on this stuff.. I feel better than I have in years
Great interview Damien. Dr. Hauser is largely responsible for modern b-cell therapies due to his work with rituximab in the OLYMPUS and HERMES trials at USCF. He is also famous for a Genome Wide Association Study (GWAS) in MS (maybe the only MS specialist with a wikipedia page). He interviewed me once in 2012 when I was looking for a fellowship, and I have met him several times a conferences. He is very friendly and approachable.
Dr. Brandon Beaber I totally got the super OG vibe from him so it’s great to learn about some of the notches on his belt!
I know Im pretty off topic but does anybody know a good site to watch newly released movies online?
@Alexzander Colten i use Flixzone. Just search on google for it :)
@Terrence Barrett definitely, I've been watching on FlixZone for since march myself :D
@Terrence Barrett Yea, been using Flixzone for years myself =)
I found out on my birthday that I have MS...It was a shock. I think I went through the same emotions as grief. I allowed ebb and flow of my feelings but it was and still is hard for me to say the word MS. Sometimes I call it "the thing" because I don't want to claim it. Starting Kesimpta a week before my wedding. This video gave me some comfort and confidence in my medication choice and my wellness journey. Thank you.
Many blessings to you in your journey and your wedding 🙏🏾
What symptoms did you have that lead to diagnosis?
Victoria, you’re not alone. You’re absolutely right about it being a grief process. Alllllll the emotions. Sending you so much love. We’ve got this!! ❤❤❤
Just found out a few days ago and yeah not dealing well with saying it. :(
Thank you professor I have MS since September 2020 . I could not see anything more with my eyes. I am 33 years old. They washed my blood 7x.. At the moment I got every 4 weeks Tsysabri( Natalizumab) in 3 weeks I am one of the first patient in Germany to get the Kesimpta. I hope everything will be fine . Thanks for everything !!!! Best regards from Germany !!
How did it went?
Always moving forward!! The future will be bright!! Treat early, be hard with MS.
Pedro da Costa Pinto Yeah, man, smash it in the face as hard as possible as soon as possible!
Thank you for the information ℹ️
Glad it was useful!!🙌🏾🙌🏾
I was misdiagnosed about 8 years ago. Getting started on kisempta now. Nervous about it but am glad to get info.
Glad it was a helpful video!
Also, one foot in front of the other, Big Fella!!
Damien thank you for this video! Yesterday at my neurologist I was able to get the approval to switch from Aubagio! Who knew I would be so excited about giving myself a shot! Without your video I don’t think I would have asked to switch so thank you so much for putting this out there to educate us msers! ☺️
thank you so much Dr. Hauser and Damien. Greetings from Austria.
Thank you!! Appreciate you, Herbert!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Thanks so much for sharing this, having a conversation with my MS Team tomorrow about Kesimpta and also Ocrevus , this has really helped to give me the understanding on how Kesimpta works with MS. Not feeling so scared to come off my Tecfidera now.
Thanks for this video! I have my biannual checkup next week. I definitely feel like I’m going to be armed with a ton of information thanks to you.
BKHolly WE OUT HERE, HOLLY!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Glad this was a good vid and will be helpful in your next neuro visit!
I’m on Kesimpta now after failing with Copaxone, Gilenya, and Tysabri. Praying that this works!
Oh im praying for you. I was just diagnosed in July. Put on tecfidera, relapsed several times and now on 2nd infusion of tysabri. I pray this works for you. So scary :(
@@donnabolt5847 same with me. Relapsed twice on Tec and now on Tysabri- almost a year now.
@@karma_kush how are you feeling now after a year on Tysabri? My doctor says I have aggresive ms and im going to still feel really crummy until about June. That will be my 6th tysabri infusion. This has just been nothing but brutal since my diagnosis in June 2020.
Are you able to give an update on how you’ve been doing with Kesimpta? I was just diagnosed and considering it since I am JCV+ and don’t want to do Tysabri.
Great interview, Damian and Dr. Hauser, as I try to decide what my next medication of choice will be. I learned some things I didn't know as I do my research and for that I am grateful. Damian, YOU OUT THERE, my friend! Dr, Hauser surely is a gift to our community as well.
I’M OUT HERE, CATHY!!! 😂😂🙌🏾🙌🏾
Glad the vid was helpful and part of your research!!
You the best best, tho!! 😆
Great Interview!!! Very Insightful and Informative...the research on B cells is a game changer. A hundred different million families of B cells in the body who knew!!!! Love learning new things about MS and the body...it's empowering.
Another great video. Thank you for the awesome work you have been doing🙋♀️
THANK YOU!! And you've been a part of some of the 🙄 that goes down to keep the channel going. Thank YOU for your patience and the content you keep pumping out!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Thank you for this great interview. That helped me finally to decide if I take K or not.
Thank you for this comment! Glad the video was helpful!
Thanks for this video, lots of great info! I am on my second loading dose of Kesimpta and so far so good!
Great!! Glad the vid is helpful!!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
How are you now?
Please I need a cure soon please!
JuNae Sorenson-Jones That’d be nice!
What a time, to be alive.
Funny, I say the same thing all the time. 😂😂🙌🏾🙌🏾
OMG, this is exciting!!!! Thanks for the great interview Damian! I'm tearing up with excitement! I'm also using a lot of exclamation points!! I hope this will be available in Canada!
Karen Burke THANK YOU, KAREN!!
Yeah, it should be available in Canada so hopefully you get it and it works out for you!
@@NoStressMS It is now ! On it as we speak, on week 3.
@@sebastianfernandez5827 Nice! Let’s go let’s go!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
I have secondary progressive multiple sclerosis and I’m completely disabled I have had ms for 23 years.
wow
Very great interview! What’s your thoughts on ocrevus vs kimsepta?
Samantha Foor Thank you!! I would rather do a needle once a month than to a trip to the infusion center twice a year, personally.
Great information! How are you doing? Thanks for the updated information. Thanks
Annette Lambert THANK YOU!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Very interesting meeting but unfortunately no mention to remyelination issues. What about disabled patients?♿️♿️♿️
Thank you Damian & many thanks to Prof. Hauser✋😎
Not sure how it goes for remyelination for disabled patients! If I get another chance to do an interview like this, i'll ask!!
Wow! Very informative!
THANK YOU, SONJA!! Glad this video was helpful and useful!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Hi NoStressMS are still on Ocrevus? I started a bit later than you and was gret initially, but now, have been having a number of disconcerting sideeffects. Im considering changing.....you?
THANK YOU!
Thank YOU!! 😆✨❤️
I’ve had my eye on Kesimpta for around a year now I knew about the trials going on and now it’s going to be available this is groundbreaking but the cost of it is extremely expensive I hope insurance will cover it 🤞🏼
SERIOUSLY!! 🤞🏾🤞🏾
@@NoStressMS yes at 9.5k a month per injection that’s 114k a year ouch 😣 insurance will have to play a real big role if anyone wants to take it 😣
@@jasonmordecai8212 WOWWWW!! That's an incredible large (though not unfamiliar) price!!
@@NoStressMS found out my insurance will pay for Kesimpta now. My neurologist has put it on my prescription now. I will receive my first pen in about 3-4 weeks 🙂
Thanks bro very helpful!
WE OUT HERE, E!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾 Thanks for this comment!!
Exciting news about slowing progression, THAT'S WHAT I NEED! Is there anyone taking Kisempta that also has been diagnosed w/ Valley Fever (Cocci) fungal infection? That's the only thing that has kept me from jumping from the 3 times a wk Glatopa to this med or Ocrevus. I chg'd to Gilenya in 2013 & that's when I found out I had VF & got a bad UTI & a skin infection. Inquiring minds are wondering. Kisempta sounds easier & more managable than the other one. Thx if you have any input.....
A cure is in sight....wow!
RIGHT?!?! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Let’s not be over optimistic, let’s learn to walk before we can run. 🏃♀️
Is this a medicine that can be taken with Ocrevus or is this a stand alone medication? Also does this have any contradictions or alerts for people that are jcv positive, not positive it have whatever it is called that keeps people from taking certain MS medications?
Celissa Gardner It’s a stand alone med, Celissa. That’s a good question! I don’t know!
Why are all of dylimenting issues being diagnosed as MS so quickly now?
Heck if I know, man?? 🤷🏾♂️😐
I started Kesimpta
Howl's it going so far?

JoeyTV REAL TALK!!
this sounds promising
The drugs keep getting better and better!
I have PPMS. I’m going downhill fast. No relapses. Radiological findings do NOT coincide with clinical signs in many people, myself included.
Why does the doc say Kesimpta is effective in progressive MS YET there has been no clinical trials for PPMS?
Also, doc says Kesimpta is also effective for treating progression (not just relapses) - so is he only referring to progression in RRMS?
Does progression differ for RR and PP patients?
Why no trial for PPMS?
Oh, and also. Thanks, Damien for the great interview. :)
Would you please explain human cloning in this drug? Meaning who? Thank you 🥰
What he means is that the antibody is humanized and does not contain any mouse protein. This would in theory decrease the rate of injection reactions, though many reactions are related to b-cell depletion rather than a true allergy.
Thank you for the explanation, I totally misunderstood the dr. You're awesome to watch, loads of info and bring a smile to those who watch you!🥰😊
@@opalsmith7175 Thanks!
Dr. Brandon Beaber FACTS!! Thank you!!
Okay!
"B-cells fight bacteria and viruses by making Y-shaped proteins called antibodies, which are specific to each pathogen and are able to lock onto the surface of an invading cell and mark it for destruction by other immune cells.".
So the root cause of MS is bacteria or virus that is calling immune response leading to inflammation.
Atlantic Breaking it down down!!
Can this drug heal MS
Not like how you're thinking but it seems like a great disease modifying drug!

one relapse every 10 year .. BS or true ?
What good is it if you can't afford it..My wife will just continue to suffer and you'll continue to get rich
Write to the manufacturer.
Damien I like the video but your hand gestures and facial expressions are not professional and detract from an otherwise useful teaching video. Nothing personal intended.
Cool. Thx.
Yes dear Damien … it’s very distracting 🙈🙈🙈🙈
But very informative 🙂
