Here is a lovely record that really fits into our cool jazz theme for this year! A record that is in the Blue Note Hard Bop canon but taking lots of influence from the cool school with beautiful results. I cant stop listening to this one in December!

Hi Sol, thanks for the video, I’m really enjoying these jazz ones and it’s highligting some albums I need to check out and have a listen to. I actually have the Hank Mobley - Soul Station album on vinyl. I really love this album, and a big fan of saxophone and the hard-bop genre. Although Hank Mobley sadly doesn’t have the biggest back catalog of albums, do you have any further album recommendations of his?

Calling this cool jazz is kinda missing the mark. Yes Mobley has that style but very much from a hard bop foundation and his playing with the band is very much from a blue note standpoint and has very little to do with the west coast sensibility
