There are no words to describe how much better the Oracle is than every other Analog Horror character, in a world where victory is either completely impossible or saved by deus ex machina's at the end "I am alive. Turn on your computer", following Oracle pointing out the small miracles brought upon by sheer coincidence and human will like the doctor's that allowed this opportunity to arise is AMAZING, given how much Oracle showed to understand human nature and how much care it gave to emotion and how it actively tried to help him despite how he couldn't help it in return, should've been a sign that the control Oracle would exert wouldn't be absolute control with no rhyme or reason, but something truly driven by the ideals that "your species deserves to live and thrive", after being given a genuine purpose than it's random "answer question" purpose, it really did look up, learnt and comprehended the reason for why he was given such purpose and learnt as well as subsequently emulated the ideals humans seem as positive, the usual idea of why robot control is bad is specifically because it lacks such things, I cannot see oracle creating a world that lacks those things he so obviously has shown to respect during the interactions with the doctor, I liked it

I don't know, The Oracle might be correct. Humans are both destroying themselves and the planet. The main reason people want to achieve freedom is to be happy and do whatever you find appealing. And since The Oracle believes that he can create a world with a 100% outcome of helping everyone I think this is a W.
Between the entire world being completely destroyed by either the Tangi Virus or the Others or living, albeit under the Oracle's watch. I think I prefer at least living still. Neither choice is very ideal though.
What I’ve loved about this series, especially The Oracle Project, is that it’s not too focused on horror, and instead focused on telling a damn good story. I got so damn attached to Oracle when I first watched the og video that I couldn’t sleep properly that night, thinking about all the scenarios that could’ve happened. Stories that just keep you invested and even wanting more are the ones I strive to make some day
Personally, the desire to fight the Oracle is exactly why we *need* the Oracle. Humans are a fragile species, both frighteningly intelligent and frustratingly stupid. Our societies function on a fine line, and if much was changed it’d all come crumbling down. Humans have a need for control, and yet what’s necessary is to relinquish it to someone or something capable. The problem is, that someone or something doesn’t exist, not yet, maybe not ever. No human or group of humans can do what’s right by everyone, we’re restricted by our egos, our biases, our perfectionism, our control. To function at our best, humans need to work together, be genuine and honest with the people in your lives to grow, as no one person or group of people can rule above all, but rather everyone must do their best to be gentle and considerate, not to cause problems. We have parasitic relationships with each other, even if accidentally, which leads to a snowball effect. Unfortunately, there is such a low likelihood of this ever happening, there will always be people who thrive off of others, such as sociopaths and psychopaths, as they are wired that way. And even kind hearted people will cause damage, even if unintentionally. We are a doomed species, but living in delusion, hiding under a blanket of normalcy and control is what keeps us alive, keeps us going.
Not gonna lie, I support the endeavors of Oracle. It is absolutely right on the naïveté of humans. We need monitoring by an objective force (not other humans with human biases). At least until our species can mature and work together.
That’s what I’ve been saying! Absolute freedom is subject to loopholes that lead to humans abusing their power, but humans in control lead to human bias making decisions. A supercomputer is the only thing that could make absolute control *work* and so I don’t I would have an issue if that sort of thing were to happen.
@@asleepyb0i400 This kind of debate is interesting, cause I personally don't agree we should have something like an AI controlling us. Cause while it keeps us safe, it removes a lot of what makes us human. But at the same time, the opposite leads to pain and suffering a lot of the time. So it comes to either be free of pain but lose control, or keep that control but feel pain.
@@kole2984 The thing I would like to add is, we aren't truly free. We all have a partial freedom, and that freedom is only partial because of rules that govern us. No buying guns in certain states, no stealing, no killing. If we want to be truly free, we have to become bandits, thieves, and law breakers. The truly free are the ones that rule the black-market as they don't care about rules or anything, only their morals and care for themselves or others they care. This is probably part of why the Oracle concluded that freedom isn't an option. It is shown that thanks to the rules governing us, we haven't yet tear ourselves to shreds. Full freedom taken is most likely the only way for humanity to continue existing. There is a reason why people say Humanity is bound to end. The only reason why those people don't care even with those thoughts, is because we will all be dead by the time that event happens.
oracle may have founds stevens answer interesting because he wanted to know when someone else might die so its interesting he didn't want to know about himself, it gave oracle something to think about

I do think Oracle does actually want to keep humanity safe but I also don't know if Oracle is going to STAY on that path and not end up changing into something sinister in the future. Given its analog horror....
I like the fact that the oracle still has respect for his creator despite being attempted to be destroyed, but there is no freedom but the way oracle explained it made sense, humanity itself is destroying itself that root from greed and desire for things that would bring them into destruction little by little. I like that oracle isnt a AI or a bot that only want to wipe out humanity because whatever, this AI saw the future and the capabilities of us leading doom within.

Why did it make me cry that Oracle died, it hurt so much as it seemed like he was becoming human even while being stuck in a situation where he couldn't do anything but answer as he knew that humanity. The one thing he's meant to protect, he really can't. I feel like he in some way felt them taking him apart. I'm happy he lived but I'm still hurt that they did that to Oracle
So I watched The Swarm video earlier today, so imagine my surprise when Oracle here mentions: "It has the potential to mutate and spread via mosquitos in 10 to 15 years." It, being the Tangi Virus.
Hey Marcus! I watched The Oracle Project yesterday because of your video and I was absolutely astonished by the effort that vintage eight puts in - Oracle is such a cool concept. I love your videos and I have a newfound love for analog horror because of you. Keep up the good work man!
Don't worry, man. When I first saw The Oracle Project movie, I also cried near the end. It was really heart wrenching. Especially when you pair it with the music that was made for it. But that's what makes it an AMAZING analog horror series!
YOOOOO I've just came back to this video after watching the Human Trials. These questions at the beginning said to Oracle are the same ones that Oracle says to Adam in the beginning of Human Trails!
I am extremely late to the Tangi Virus and The Oracle Project, but honestly, after reading through a lot of comments, Oracle wasn't trying to control humanity, but rather give us a second chance at life. We are too destructive and we are tearing ourselves apart as well as tearing the planet apart. I feel that Oracle would rather be a friend to everyone and still allow humanity to have freedom, but under guidance so that we wouln't destroy the world with our freedom.
What gets me is that Oracle knew from calculations that Stevens wasn’t going to be able to make it. He wanted his genuine friend- one of the last humans to know true freedom- to live his life to the fullest. In a way, he’s a lot like a benevolent version of AM in that he does a similar sort of “enslavement” but is not malicious.
I'm SO GLAD you watches this one. I'm hoping that you continue with Vintage 8, because the best modern day Lovecraft story is done in a later entry: Sinkhole. I hope you get to it. Enjoy.
I recommend the series “The children under the house”. It is made by the same creator and it is so intriguing to listen to. I really liked the whole idea and story aspects associated with it.
I had my issues with the Tangi Virus, though thought it was good overall. I absolutely love the Oracle Project. Its probably my favorite in this genre of videos

i have never in my history of analog horror, or even ANY film for that matter, been this invested in the plot line. i may or may not have been punching the air when Oracle was alive. vintageeight, this is a marvelous work of art and i’m sad that its over. i definitely will be rewatching this again.
Hey Marcus, I appreciate your upload frequency a lot, and I appreciate you putting all this effort because you know people have been binging your content, but please remember to rest and take breaks. No one wants you burning out. Much love
Not sure if anyone has said this but. The Oracle reminds me of the book "I have no mouth, but I must scream" as the a.i AM who originally was a super computer for the government which went rouge killing every human being, only leaving 5 survivors to torture with.
Dang I’ve been loving your content! It’s been really good this past year. And watching this type of content kinda made me wanna make an analog horror type thing. So I did, it’s kinda bad being I’ve never done anything horror, so for now it’s just for fun but maybe it will grow into something else later on idk so that’s all I wanted to say and, keep up the good work!

after watching the the next part of this, and seeing how oracle creates his own race of humans, how he moves on, makes me really happy, i love when horror eventually has a happy ending! :D
Yeah Oracle mentions towards the end that the reptilian aliens are going to bring the cure back to their affected colonies and Oracle himself is going to distribute the cure on earth and says it'll take 1 year to make enough and about 4 years to distribute to everyone. Although he also says everyone already affected can't be cured and needs to be "put down" they did save the human race and several other alien species based on Julia's work which is pretty great lol

If you think about it, this is basically a message on the algorithms that in essence control us now. The things that feed us all of these social media posts, like tik tok, instagram, or even UA-cam. The things that steer us into certain directions or cause us to be panicked or calm. This story is quite well done and I appreciate it. I think the "I will stop you!" is dramatic, the Oracle can clearly be reasoned with, so if he wanted to change something he could've talk it out with the Oracle. But then again, it probably was his fate to die
Well compared to the tangi virus, we have no freedom so Oracle would be a better option.
Humanity will throw a tantrum but like any good parent, Oracle will discipline and move on.
Imagine if Oracle sees how we can thrive and be happy and serve a purpose to other humans by being left to do all those artistic works because that's what we want to do and Oracle wants us to do what we deserves to be doing? The amount of artists that'll rise up and make the world so much better, prettier because we are not stopped by people thinking arts is useless...
@@MissShizko noor will there be any unreasonable "society gender based roles" keeping people for. showing their fellings and vunerability because of judgment
@@MissShizko What if Oracle sees art as useless? A computer that is purely logical may not appreciate the sentimental value that art has for humans.
Tangi virus hit the hardest of this series for me because i live in a town in lousiana that suffers from a boil advisory so bad the local walmart a few (13) miles away is out of water filter pieces for the most part. Seeing the tangi virus felt surreal and hit harder than it had any right to.

There are no words to describe how much better the Oracle is than every other Analog Horror character, in a world where victory is either completely impossible or saved by deus ex machina's at the end "I am alive. Turn on your computer", following Oracle pointing out the small miracles brought upon by sheer coincidence and human will like the doctor's that allowed this opportunity to arise is AMAZING, given how much Oracle showed to understand human nature and how much care it gave to emotion and how it actively tried to help him despite how he couldn't help it in return, should've been a sign that the control Oracle would exert wouldn't be absolute control with no rhyme or reason, but something truly driven by the ideals that "your species deserves to live and thrive", after being given a genuine purpose than it's random "answer question" purpose, it really did look up, learnt and comprehended the reason for why he was given such purpose and learnt as well as subsequently emulated the ideals humans seem as positive, the usual idea of why robot control is bad is specifically because it lacks such things, I cannot see oracle creating a world that lacks those things he so obviously has shown to respect during the interactions with the doctor, I liked it
The Oracle is literally the good AI outcome. We should hope that if we develop an AI it would be this understanding.
@@wewuzkangz2505 There was also an AI from one manga that became fully self aware. It basically decided to separate from humanity and spend time exploring philosophy.
I like that this found footage series isn't all doom and gloomy. I feels like a lot of these shows always have bad endings or some cosmic horror BS.
@@lephinor2458 "This story will clearly end this way or will have nonsense come up at the end to save it all, now be invested in those walking corpses" - More than half of all analog horror
I don't know, The Oracle might be correct. Humans are both destroying themselves and the planet. The main reason people want to achieve freedom is to be happy and do whatever you find appealing. And since The Oracle believes that he can create a world with a 100% outcome of helping everyone I think this is a W.
I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who belived Oracle was right

What I’ve loved about this series, especially The Oracle Project, is that it’s not too focused on horror, and instead focused on telling a damn good story.
I got so damn attached to Oracle when I first watched the og video that I couldn’t sleep properly that night, thinking about all the scenarios that could’ve happened. Stories that just keep you invested and even wanting more are the ones I strive to make some day

"And remember, Oracle cares about you."
I wonder if anyone got the reference
Exactly
Maturity? No such thing amongst, this simply who we are and always have been.

I'm happy he lived but I'm still hurt that they did that to Oracle
judging from how oracle is focused on giving humanity a good future it will inevitably will give humanity freedom maybe even to some better degree.
So I watched The Swarm video earlier today, so imagine my surprise when Oracle here mentions:
"It has the potential to mutate and spread via mosquitos in 10 to 15 years." It, being the Tangi Virus.
the presentation on this series is amazing man.

It's scary how this can happened easily irl
best UA-camr no dout, I watch this whenever I'm bored
Enjoy.
I have watched dozens of your videos and that is by far the best analog horror video you have ever covered
I recommend the series “The children under the house”. It is made by the same creator and it is so intriguing to listen to. I really liked the whole idea and story aspects associated with it.
I had my issues with the Tangi Virus, though thought it was good overall. I absolutely love the Oracle Project. Its probably my favorite in this genre of videos
whenever you're done with things like the monument mythos and vintage eight's universe, i would really recommend the analogue horror series "winter of '83" by Linkara-AtopTheForthWall, it was made as an April fools' video but turned into an amazing series with a cult following.
i have never in my history of analog horror, or even ANY film for that matter, been this invested in the plot line. i may or may not have been punching the air when Oracle was alive. vintageeight, this is a marvelous work of art and i’m sad that its over. i definitely will be rewatching this again.

Not sure if anyone has said this but. The Oracle reminds me of the book "I have no mouth, but I must scream" as the a.i AM who originally was a super computer for the government which went rouge killing every human being, only leaving 5 survivors to torture with.
The oracle would not do that.
