Great content. I need to change the transmission fluid to my nissan rogue 2012. The mechanic is charging me $200 for the whole process including the fluid. Insane!!!! I will do it myself.
Mine said 100 but he also told me those transmissions have to have the nissan specific Trans fluid and there about 9 dollars a quarter and they hold right at 4 quarts
Please make more videos with what describing in first time changed fluids out and cleaned everything, for educational purposes. Thankyou for your video.
My friend then how many quarters in total you aplicated fir the nissan rogue 2012 If the cap and internal cvt filter are remove then i think what the cvt need more oil, what u thing
Thank you for your video! Would the process be relatively similar for a 2013 AWD? Looking to change it on our own. (I'll of course double check the fluid type) and do you have to replace the drain plug each time? Thank you!!
@@BlazerGuy1983 how bad is it to change? I just bought a 2011 rogue with 71k on it for less than 2k. It's got a p1778 and a the classic stepper motor symptoms. I bought it from a 20 something girl so I'm figuring the fluids proly never been changed and she said nissan gave her the 3k to replace line. could I unbolt the cooler and wash it out.
Think because he drained out the factory fill and refilled with Castrol cvt fluid. So doing it a second time gets more of the old fluid ( factory fill) out
Not trying to criticize you but I’ve done my research everyone says that you’re supposed to use Nissan CVT fluid not auto parts store unless your sale it and don’t care??
Not true at all. I have serviced numerous Nissan CVT transmissions with aftermarket CVT fluid and none have failed. Many are north of 120,000 miles now. A few are getting near the 200,000 mile mark.
It is just a Nissan sales tactic. There is nothing special about their fluid. Think about it and I understand that people neglect their vehicles, but these Rogue still have failing cvt's with Nissan's special fluid if not changed.
Well Nissan does not own an oil refinery that I'm aware of, so they probably stamp their name on some premium oil. See other videos lol. I have used SUPER TECH full synthetic in all my vehicles for the last ten years with no adverse effects whatsoever. Made in the USA and very inexpensive at the local Walmart. Filters also. Tranny filters and fluid(when not available at Walmart) from the local Autozone
I have a 2012 Rogue. Didn't realize the CVT fluid should be changed (My first CVT Trans). Bought the car with about 80k, has 130k now. I was told NOT to change the fluid if there aren't any issues. Really??

2010 or 2012??
Great job.
They said on owner manual only can use oem transmission fluid
Is it cvt NS-3 fluid?
Blazer, why is the word HOT on the dipstick? Its misleading and would lead me to think that the fluid should go up to there.
How much new fluid did you put in? I'm about to change the one in my car and I would like to low how much I need....
I took about 5-1/2 quarts. All depends on how level vehicle is to determine how much comes out from just a drain
Did you mean 4.5 quarts?@@BlazerGuy1983

i guess I'm kind of randomly asking but do anyone know of a good place to watch newly released tv shows online ?
@Karson Lennon I would suggest flixzone. Just search on google for it :)
@Wesson Shepherd Definitely, I have been using Flixzone for years myself =)
the process is pretty much the same. you don't replace the drain plug, just the copper washer.
@Wesson Shepherd Thank you, signed up and it seems like a nice service =) Appreciate it!
Is there a reason you didn't change the upper cartridge filter?
More less wanted to show folks how the dealer performs a drain and refill. Plus filter is little hard to film.

@1:16 you did fluid change a month ago? Transmission fluid change? How frequently should change fluids?
In a CVT... Every 30,000 miles.
You’ll be fine doing it 50-60k if you just daily drive it. Nothing hurts to do it every 30k tho

I would use Aisin ATF NS2 fluid for $7.09 per quart from Rock Auto. I don't feel comfortable using a multi-vehicle fluid.

Use amsoil cvt, lasts way longer. Go to amsoil.com for cheapest price

It is worth changing out, a little investment comes a long way for your cars.
Definitely change it. If it weren't a cvt then I wouldn't change it but the cvt works different
