Guapo & Lola Re-Introduced, WILL IT WORK?

- The day has finally come, I am going to reunite my Cuban rock iguanas, Lola and Guapo! I'm nervous about this and really hoping that she will be nice to our injured friend, but I'll need to keep a close eye in case she's a jerk!

I think it’s time to build Guapo a big enclosure like Slinky’s and give him a couple younger females so he can get some offspring. Guapo is just as much as a legend as Slinky is

Yes. I was thinking the same.
I’m not sure that Guapo needs an enclosure that is quite as big as Slinky’s, but I do think that a nice new custom built enclosure, designed specifically for Guapo and a new female with a sweet nature to match his.
Especially after his near death experience.
I have a very big soft spot for Guapo. I would love for him to get some new female company, preferably one without an attitude! Lol
My heart, when Lola grabbed onto Guapo! He’s been through so much and he’s such a great guy. “Anthromorphizing” my human feelings into the situation, I want to see Guapo in the biggest, best enclosure!!🦎❤️

Hi Kenan, it’s Lochlan. I went to your farm about 2 years ago with my dad, brad McCallum. Looking back, thank you so much for that experience. I now have 5 reptiles, including a monkey tailed skink who you inspired me to get. I’m 14 and starting highschool now!

Guapo and Lola have had an on again/off again relationship for years. It was tentative at best, so this is no surprise. Guapo needs a bigger enclosure, where he is *away* from Petro and Lola. Poor guy doesn't deserve the aggravation.
Guapo needs a lux new enclosure. Lola needs a smaller one. The elongated is FREAKING adorable eating with the iguanas! You've got to get Guapo some ladies. Blessings.

I’ve been wanting to a Burmese star for a while now but just couldn’t find a breeder I could trust but I reached out to Tom and we talked a bit and this past week I just received a Burmese star from Tom. Guapo deserves a mansion next to slinky away from the ones that hurt him.
I wouldn't put them together again. It was worth a shot, tho. At least it was a nip on the right side of his face. Guapo, on the other hand, is looking really good. Hes healing up quite nicely.
I would love to see Guapo and Lola each get a new compatible mate, and eventually get some baby Cuban iguanas at the Kamp! Guapo deserves a nice big new enclosure all for himself and a nice new compatible girlfriend (or a few)! It would be so fun to have Guapo and Lola babies, even if they aren’t bred together. They are both veterans and staples of the Kamp!

I love seeing all the tortoises and turtles. I have owned my beautiful Testudo Graeca Whitei for 50 years! I would love an Aldabran but unfortunately the climate isn’t ideal for them here in the UK.

So if you would Really want that Idea Kicking in to Build a Huge Encolsure for the Croc Monitors, wouldn't their Current home be Perfect in Size for good old Guaps?
Maybe you can even Build a Equal one right next to it for the Bully and Rebuild Guoppos old home, even get that old Failed Water Feature back Kicking and get a Lizard in there that can Use that to.

Maybe with Guapo and Lola you could take her out of the enclosure and completely change things with new dirt, plants, hide box or two, then reintroduce them in the "new" enclosure, (or she just has no interest in him and he needs a new friend).
Wow Nostradamus really has grown a lot these last four years! I discovered your channel in 2020, maybe 2019, and Darwin was clearly the biggest of the three! It didn’t even seem that close.
What’s funny is that this was the first time I was looking at them side by side and wondered.. hey, Nostradamus appears bigger.. I was second guessing if it was just the camera angle, but then you said it too 😂
I love the way you don't obsess when you feed. They are all capable (OBVIOUSLY) animals. They know where it's going to be and that it's good stuff, and so you ring the dinner bell and let them have at it. (I'm really miffed when people treat their animals like they're mentally impaired.)

There is nothing green growing in any of the tortoise pens for them to eat so they probably swallow things they shouldnt .
Kenan, I know it may be a bit of work, but having a 2nd door for the pair of horned troublemakers so you can avoid one getting through again... Call it a safety precaution.. Or just git the poor man el Guapo his own bachelor pad

Ken and If your doing a new pond why not do another slinky style enclosure but with loads of giant branches and upgrade the pair of Croc monitors and then move the single Croc monitor into there cage then double up the single Croc monitor cage for gwapo ?

What food are you using?
Kenan you should of put them on neutral ground like right there on the grass first. But I guess it is what it is now. Guapo and Lola are nice lizards to people which we need more of (:

Guapo definitely needs a larger enclosure. He and Lola definitely don’t need to be back together. She’s too cantankerous. Guapo needs to get a lovely young female. Idk if I would get Lola a male. If you did you would have to introduce them on neutral territory. You couldn’t just bring a male straight into her enclosure. Great video as always 💜🦎🐢

No no dude 👎🏽😢. Guapo is in no condition to be with Lolita anymore. We are the OG fans of the channel and we don't want to see Senor Guapo get his "fingers 🤌🏽" or face mauled. We know these are your animals but you are playing with stick of dynamite 🧨 and Lolita as we Know "Full on Well" from past videos,she's not to be accepting a male who has become injured or become a lesser dominate companion. Sorry 😐 but I am totally against Reintroduction

The problem is there’s no barrier between the two males. I don’t own reptiles and would say that was a big issue
I’d love to see you Switch them. Lola is the difficult one and Guapo has been through enough.
You can introduce more compatible partners later. Lola will be fine in the smaller enclosure Guapo is in now.
Do you ever worry about the turtles and tortoises in your front yard eating the pebbles or stones? I had a turtle who used to eat small pebbles in his tank so we removed them.. I was just curious if your turtles eat the pebbles. Thanks!

Lola's just doing what lizards gonna do. Guapo needs a large cage of his own, with a couple of smaller girlfriends, that is away from Petro and Lola. There's plenty of room in the Kamp for a bit of expansion.

Maybe it's bc I watched them shortly before this, but I saw someone do an introduction with Leachies where they swapped the animals/their enclosures multiple times before actually putting them together. Ofc they're a diff species, but one where the female will beat up the male as part of mating, so dunno if it's applicable. Poor Guapo, and naughty Lola

Hey Kenan, I'm just wondering- have you ever considered trying clint reptiles handling method for snappers with Marge? I get the strong feeling that Marge is the type of turtle that WANTS attention and wants to be pet... But shes unfortunately risky to pet. From clint reptiles videos.... it seems like snappers who are friendly like that just REALLY like to be pet(And all snappers don't like being held by the shell). It would be nice to test if shes tolerant of petting with a glove or something. Sometimes I feel bad for her since it really seems like she just wants affection sometimes. IDK
I think if I remember correctly Marge's previous family was able to put her on their lap and watch tv with her, so Kanon could probably do that with her (after a good meal so she has calmed down lol) too.
If you split that Lola enclosure in half, would it still be large enough to house two pairs?
Maybe time to take Ty Parks up on his offer and send Lola to Iguanaland on a breeding loan?
I’d probably put Guapo in the area where the Rhinos are now, with a larger group of tortoise friends!
Put the Rhinos in that first area. It might be safer to have the Rhinos in the first area anyways, so they’re not climbing on the door to the other enclosure all the time.
And put Lola in that small enclosure until you figure something else out.

@29:06 -- Other than Marge and the Aldabra tortoises, I really don't see much facial expression in torts and turtles. They generally have a grumpy or pouty look to their faces.
That one Aldabra that likes Kenan seems to relax and enjoy himself just like Marge does when she's in eating frenzy...
I wonder about the reintroduction in her territory? It might be better to have them in a neutral area or, because she is a bit dominant, introducing them in HIS territory. Just a thought.
Id recommend reintrodution on neutral territory. Thats how I introduced my flock of birds. Dogs etc.

Instead of trying to find a male for Lola the jerk, why not try to find a female for good guy Guapo? Guapo has a much better temperament than Lola, to carry on to a new generation!

Come on dude!!! She’s attacked him twice and caused major injuries both times. Why on earth would you try it AGAIN????? Do the right thing and separate them. We know it’s not convenient but for his safety, please don’t put them together. This was hard to watch. Was yelling at the screen the entire time that it was a bad idea.

No. Kenan knows his animals. If there was a chance of more aggression, he wouldn't turn his back.
The animals aren’t used to going through the doors. They would do so apprehensively if at all. There was no chance Lola would have chased him out side of the cage

Just seems like an odd risk to take (and to model for your huge YT audience) considering how hard he's worked to get Guapo healthy again and how easy it is to close a door.

Petra wasn't a jerk he was just doing what was nature to him You're the jerk for accidentally leaving the door open so the two of them could interact it's your fault that this happened not Petro's not guapos not low not Pedro or Pedro you good Sir it's all you're doing you need to take a take accountability for your actions Or inactions in this case who didn't lock the door you didn't close it right you knew ahead of time that put in two species of a close relief related creatures next to each other could be potential for disaster that would be like putting slinky next to right next to adjacent to the croc monitors Any of the three in an accidentally leaving the door open for slinking to get in or the crop monitors to get out and I'll help with ensued. stop playing Petro it's not his fault he was enticed into escaping his open enclosure to fight with another man Whom he saw as a rival. now that said let's get over it let's get on with the taking care of the animals but don't blame the animals for being who and what they are and for fighting because you made a mistake and left the door open or left the cage unlocked this is why you shouldn't have cages that link on to each other they should have separate enclosures they can have adjacent to closures but they must be separate they must have airlocks on them you can take a good lesson for Jerry Wolfe and how he's got his setups with a central hallway casey's office where they can be introduced to one another As needed through side doors to each enclosure but the main enclosures each have a open to the hallway where the hallway is closed and when the animals escapes they are only in the hallway and not out on the wild or a back guard or your farmland or whatever.
