- It's always fun when we get to feed a whole prey item to our alligators, Snaggletooth & Dale. It's even better when it's a large whole wild hog! This turns out to be a very surprising episode that includes the discovery of an unexpected gator nest that Dale built.

That cat and mouse game that they play is actually very good for them. It gives them exercise and keeps them strong and healthy. Jostling around like they do keeps their muscles strong and the chasing keeps their hunting instincts sharp.
This episode is the reason why your Wife panics when U dont answer your phone!! 😅

In the wild, a whole lake full of crocs would have to fight over a single antelope. What they are doing is part of the enrichment they need.

15:28 you should build another bridge to make it easier for you to get around there. That's really a sketchy area. Would be great if you could get around that area easily just in case you have know choice but to go thru there in a hurry.

Have ever thought about contacting some of the UA-camrs that hunt wild hogs to see if they will donate you some of the hogs they trap for your animals

Was yelling at the screen, “okay, give it to her now… Dale is the absolute cutest with her head peaking out the grass like that… Also- Dale is pissed…. Kenan, please don’t fall in while pulling those weeds… snaggy is looking obese… dales like, I can’t find it anymore- you’re next… snaggy pissing me off fr give it to her now!!…” 😊

It's probably a bit too late, but it would be awesome if you constructed a feeding platform on the east side of the enclosure.
The baby gator you saw in pond where you fish from could come from that nest, like I said in that video. So that nest could be a old nest

For even more spectacular action like this you need to get a pair of saltwater or Nile crocodiles for a truely spectacular prehistoric feeding display but this still truely spectacular what you have here well done!
lol. Dayle was waiting for her personal hog, but when you didn't set another one out, she realized that she had to get a piece of the hog herself. I think if they were the same size, Dayle would go after the hog more aggressively, but since they are not, she has to strategize. Then she's like, "if I can't get the hog, I can get you human even if you are the one who provides the food, don't test me." 😅🤣Why not put the hog on a small pike so that both characters can put a little more effort into getting it, giving Dayle more time to grab a piece? You might get death rolls from both of them!

Amazing video kenan I don't know anything about making videos so i dunno if this would work but have you thought of added trail cams into the enclosure in hot spot locations for feedings like this
Too bad you didn’t have live cams in the lagoon so we could watch in real time when u do big feedings like this or we could watch the animals moving around on a daily basis ..we could see the caiman walking around at night too which would be cool. And it would be like 24/7 extra security we would see if u had a escape happen like for example slinky gets out again or the whole petro and guapo fight before it got too hairy when ur away ..I know you got a lot going on but it would be a cool idea

What I didn't expect was that they were making all these 'weird' (for me, who's not familiar to such animals) rests during their feeding process. I was expecting them to finish it off just like a couple of - OK. wildly oversized - aquarium newts would do with their food. 🙂
Kenan, for the love of all things you hold dear, GET MATT TO WATCH YOUR BACK whenever you are in with the crocs. Kate will thank you for it.
(I know that Matt is not on full time anymore, but in this case I really think Kenan needs a second person around.)
i have a suggestion for you why dont you have cameras set up in different spots and you could catch maybe mating and you wouldnt be a distraction for Dayle when giving them a whole pray like this. Cameras can be set up with solar and catch movement.

They battle over food in the wild just like this.
It's good enrichment as well. They need each other to be able to eat larger prey items by tearing chunks off.

Dude l suggest you don’t pull out roots on the banks because they are what”s keeping em in place.. every rootsystem you pull out will weaken the island. And maybe look at it this way, it’s a plant that grows without any hastle poviding some shade, oxygen and estetics, win win win in my book 😉

I noticed, He played keep away for a long time. but at the end Snaggletooth let Dale take a bite, and then another bigger bite. He could have snatched it away like he did before. That seems to be intelligent thinking on a Alligator level. Very interesting....

I wouldn't wanna be hit by Snaggletooth or Dales tails. Either one of those two could shatter every bone in both of my legs. Then not being able to walk and lying in the enclosure injured I would really be in trouble.
you need a bigger hog or perhaps a deer for them to share.
GatorChris just got a fresh road kill deer donated and he cut off the legs and hind quarters for the small gators and gave the head and body to the big guy. He would be a great mentor to have and learn more about Gator behavior and safety.
