Chopin certainly did provide so much for the future generations to experience and learn so many composition techniques and music, I just wonder what'd happen if composers like him would've lived 30 years longer.
Is the piano not just a harp converted to plucking instrument into a percussion activated instrument are the strings pitch and arrangement the same as the harp from end to end ? I'm a guitarist and I've always wondered ??
@@nkcjulie No it doesn't. There are some additional keys that do not make up an entire octave. A,B flat and B at the bottom. And C at the top. 12×7=84. Add those four keys and you are at 88!!!
Did you know all these facts about the piano? Let us know what you`ve learnt from this video!
Thank you for creating this video. I will use it in my classroom - I wish the pronunciations had been more accurate

For sure we would have more amazing music 🥰
@@llacrymossa Yeah, Schubert and Mozart too. Their amazing lives were too short.
Thank you for the video! learned a lot of information for myself
Thank you for your comment 🙂
I am relearning and wish to be an active student of knowledge, I hope to learn how to play an instrument next year! 🎼
We wish you good luck with learning!
Great Informations! Txs a lot! 🎹🎵🎶🎵🎶
Thank yoooou 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Mentions Christofori, shows picture of Bach 😂
Thank you for this. Lovely video.
Just got to the sustain pedal part - it was added far far before 1924! How else would Moonlight Sonata and thousands of other pieces have been played?
Thank you for the comment! ☺️
So what Mozart's piano is using?
We found this for you, dear:

Actually achieving 8 octaves was an engineering marvel because of the incredible tension.
This is so informative and interesting. Is there a version geared to kids?
Thank you sooo much!!! 🥰 No, but I am considering something like this for the future :))
I am planning to use this in my 7th grade classroom. I have created a study guide to go along with the video.

Bach's "Wohltemperiertes Klavier" should be mentioned and explained, also "Hammerklavier", Beethoven's sonata.
For sure there are many more things we can talk about 🎶
"though they had a significant limitations..." When I hear stuff like this I lose confidence in anything else the video is telling me.
Sustain pedal invented in 1924?
The sostenuto pedal was originally invented by Boisselot of Marseille in 1844.
Thank you for this contribution!
Invented around 1770 I believe
Question: 88 keys and 7 octaves? That math seems a little off.

Here it is explained..
Thank you. I hadn't thought that through!@@classyclassical

Really don’t think the sustain pedal was 1924, invented around 1770 I believe.
Agree.. how could Beethoven have written music using it if it was invented in 1924... lol
