This was absolutely gorgeous and completely chic as always 😍 I would actually really like to see how you would approach shopping at places like Primark and New Look while staying true to the neutral aesthetic- the majority of hauls from these shops are not how I want to dress, and the ideas would be very welcome
Enjoyed your video, as usual. I understand you are encouraging investment buys but I'm sure a lot of us can't afford these pieces. Alternative items from high street stores would be great. Lots of inspiration though xx
I’ve been following you for years and you’ve really changed the way I think about clothes and how I shop for it and plan before. These tips are gold, really ❤
Always like your vids Charlotte but I thought this was a capsule wardrobe on any budget? My budget is not lily silk sadly. Could you do a more affordable capsule please. etc.
I'm sure the items shown can be easily switched to more budget options. Just see the ones shown as examples of how to style the different capsule items. Many brands do great basics to suit all budgets.
Fabulous content, but I will add,, that it would've been nice to have the less expensive bag links, that you mentioned, added at the bottom. Thanks for all the work you put into your videos!
Loving your style! and thanks for the LilySilk codes. These are the first influencer codes I've ever actually used... I've been eyeing up some items from there for a while now.
Love these ideas doesn't have to be designer to get similar looks 👌 thank you some lovely ideas x love the 3 colour rule makes it's easier to put outfits together ❤
Hey Charlotte. Hope you are well. I know you style yourself and your mom, but I was wondering how about styling some woman with different body types? I love the clothes you wear and your style but I simply can't style it the same as I have a completely different body shape, and I have no idea how to best wear the style. I'm happy to volunteer as your first guest. ☺️
keep searching on youtube. i’ve found many great style videos frm different shaped ladies. it helps finding someone with a similar shape as you. i have the same issue i don’t share the same shape as her but i like watching her videos for inspiration anyway :)
Thank you so much for your videos, for putting all the links etc ... I always struggle to know what to wear , to style my outfits ... since I discovered your account, it helps a lot !! 😘Thank you !!
I just cannot get enough of your videos! You are so elegant, from the way you carry yourself to the way you talk, and the clothes and accesories you wear! I love the combinations you put together ! I am incorporating some of your suggestions one by one. :)
Hi Charlotte, thanks for the great tips and beautiful outfit ideas. When you do your capsule wardrobe video, can you give some options for outerwear which is not a blazer or a long trench coat/winter coat. Looking for ideas for the school run or going to the park with the kids…something not as dressy as a blazer and not long like a trench coat (I have these covered already). Thank you!
Quilted short (hip-length to leg break) jacket for autumn and longer, mid-thigh length, fitted down puffer jacket or short coat for later in the winter? Ralph Lauren makes great quilted jackets, I love mine. I have a few different styles, colors and lengths and the lighter weight is perfect for autumn, winter and spring, all but the coldest winter days, here in California. My favorite is my checked one in muted “English Countryside” tones of beige, browns, rust and greens. Having a few warm, shorter jackets is a great convenience, I don’t like getting in and out of cars all day in long coats. I don’t know if Macy’s ships to your location, but they have a collab line with RL at very accessible prices, that’s where my recent beige one came from. I size up one size to wear chunky sweaters under them.
@@kimberlyperrotis8962 thank you for the idea. We have a great LR outlet nearby and I will go have a look. Here in London the trend now is “everything oversized” which makes it difficult to find well fitting outerwear, especially the short coat/jacket kind. Bomber jackets are all the rage. I’m like you and I don’t feel comfortable in long coats and trench coats when I have to run errands and get in and out of the car. Thanks again x
I purchased a 3 linen jackets- camel, white, beige & a couple wide pants in white, camel , moss green. I like your style & neutrals, which makes it classy, easy to match & chic. For those women who might be if average or more weight & might ber] 5'4 or less ( called Petit or short), (I'm 5'3 1/2 & 112 lbs, a active 71yrs) How can we.pull off wearing wide leg pants & large jackets without looking frumpy? They say to wear smaller more fitted tops & heels. Any alternatives to heels or fitted tops?
I prefer the matte and semi-matte silk weaves like crepe de chine and habutai, they look less dressy, but feel just as great as the glossy satin charmeuse ones. I wear my silk shirts casually for everyday, I don’t want them to all look like party wear.
Beautiful Job Charlotte. You put so much thought and effort into your video’s. I love your classic styles which are also so affordable. I have many Lilly silk blouses and cami’s and love the quality and value. I might try the dress. Sadly the white t=shirt was sold out.
I have the beige safari dress, I love how it has a generous A-line skirt, rather than the skimpy straight-cut ones of most shirt dresses. It’s a joy to wear, the sueded finish is fantastic and I love the two-pocket style and epaulettes. I got the striped silk one from their spring collection, but it didn’t come with a tie belt, this one does, and it has a fuller, more shapely cut, too. I love to wear matching, soft tie belts, although I do sometimes switch for my leather ones, too. I don’t think these classic safari styles ever date!
Thank you for the great video! In the section on neutral colors, one of the things you were modeling was a cream colored pleated skirt. I have been on the hunt for a midi pleated skirt in navy and cream forcer. Would you be able to recommend a place to shop for them? I live in the US, in case it matters. Thank you 😊
That blazer looks incredible on you. The model on site doesn't do it justice at all. I would never have thought it was that one! PS boots at the end .. info if you can
The problems with Lily Silk trousers are: most come only in black, most only go up to size 12, and few have elastic waistbands. I wish they would address these limitations not only in their trousers, but in skirts, too. I don’t want more than the two black pairs of silk trousers that I already have.
Love. Could you do a video on outfits for photos? Like coordinating outfits if doing engagement or family photos? Specifically Autumn photos would be great!!!
I think the gist was to save for some really nice basics. Concentrate on natural fabrics. I actually find TKMAXX really good for this. I got two lovely viscose t shirts ( Danish brand) for £15 each but the original shop price was £35 and they wash and fit beautifully. A linen dress I bought from TKMAXX I've had for over 10 years. Mango have some nice basics, especially if you catch a sale. Also Sainsbury's clothing department have some nice cotton and viscose basics too. Avoid polyester and acrylic and limit your trend pieces - buy less and buy better.
Hi. I also love Lilysilk! One thing that I'm always uncertain about is different color jewelry. Is it ok to mix rose gold with silver, for example? I love your videos!
Thanks for the hack about the little pocket inside the pillowcase. I didn't know about that at all and I ordered 2 silk pillowcases off lilysilk. I had ordered a one size fits all bra too but it was way to small unfortunately.
I had the sane problem, those bras might fit Asian women, but not the rest of us. I needed cups four or five times that size and the band was way too small (I’m 38 E).
Hi, sorry for the misunderstanding. Our One-size Wireless Silk Bra features skin-friendly fabrics for all-day comfort. It is best suited for anyone who wears a traditional band between 31.5-40'' and an A-D cup. For bigger busts, it may indeed be a little small. We recommend that you contact our customer service before purchasing, we are more than willing to give you some help with the size. If you need additional assistance, please feel free to contact us at support@lilysilk.zendesk.com. We will reply to you within 24 hours on our business days.
Hello. Can you share...do you wear any type of soaks with your loafers? I am puzzled on this attire concept? I really don't like to go 'bare' foot in loafers. and the no-show soaks I have purchased still show. Please share your advise.
I need help to understand how to shop the European market you offer here.. how risky is it to buy when I live in USA?, exchanges for size? Shipping costs?
Charlotte, the last few videos you’ve made (especially this one and the last) have been exceptional content, I just need to say that! So informative, up to speed and useful. Thank you so much! One question with Lily Silk: have you ever washed in your regular machine on delicate? If so, how did the pieces hold up? Interested in investing and I’m curious.
I have to say I was disappointed with LillySilki. I ordered a pleated skirt from them which was completely made of polyester and only the underskirt (much shorter than the outer layer) was made of silk. The skirt came in really inadequate packaging, just a plastic bag which was way too small for the item…it’s not the beautiful boxes that they send to influencers. The skirt was so badly creased and impossible to iron at home. It was not possible to wear and I had to pay return shipping for it. They are also shipped from China so take ages to arrive. Just something to keep in mind if ordering. I will not repeat.
I wash mine in the “hand wash” delicate cycle in my machine in cold or warm water (depending on colors), they come out fine. Using a delicates mesh laundry bag is good, too.
I love Lily Silk, but their blazers are 100% polyester with silk linings and some of their skirts are, too. I hope they are moving away from the use of any polyester now.
Hi, thank you very much for your love for us. The fabrics lining our blazers and skirts are all silk. However, sometimes due to design reasons, the outer fabrics of some products will choose other materials. Normally, the fabrics are listed in the description section of the product page. Thank you very much for your suggestion. We will be sure to pass your request and experience along to our management team for future improvement. We'll always do whatever it takes to make it right for our customers!
I love your classy, chic style, but please check out for the production of silk. For each gram of silk 15 caterpillars have to die, per year 1,6 billion animals… 🦋

You could look for similar polyester items at H&M, Zara, etc., if you can tolerate the fabric, I can’t.
Check out the satin button downs at Banana Republic Factory. I got 3 for $56 US.
