Those Audi blocks are super stong. My buddy has the Toreg 4.0 litre in a drag car. I dont know the engine number but they are running a stock block and crankshaft (polished) Giant turbo and 2000hp. Never broke a crank yet. Used main bearings. (cant buy them new) Major head work and pistons....but still that is a lot of HP...Have some videos on that drag car.
You never know what you get with a used engine... depending on miles, we'd suggest doing timing chains, water pump & thermostat (on top of cost of used engine). We tore this engine down for inspection and decided to refresh it.
@@EXOVCDS Yea I get it Thomas.....I put a used engine in my 2009 TDI The CBEA hex shaft failed. New timing belt CP3 conversion, thermostat, ETC before I even thought about installing it.
A bit boring... I know. Not yet sponsored by Milwaukee... or have enough income to start interesting projects outside of work hours.
Thanks for posting Thomas.

New shop, new rules. I'm just happy to see you still hanging around.

Cool bud..Makes sense...thnx
Why are you tearing engine down?.Is this cost effective with labor & parts cost rather then buy a new engine? Thnx bud
New engine is over $25k. Reason for teardown.
