At some point he stated that he supports Ukr, for example, and condemn what Russia did. So his content will be biased too. He went to some deserted border areas, where they even have special signs that you need to have identification documents before entering these areas and he wanted to film something there. And then he was so surprised when he, a foreign citizen without documents, was detained until they found out who he was and what he was actually doing there. This is a setup to get views and at the same time blame everyone around except himself.
Ha ha, being opposed to Russian terror makes somebody biased. The overwhelming majority of people in the West are on Ukraine's side and rightly so. He wasn't critical at all of Russia in his videos before the FSB terror and sham trials against him.

Not sure why so many feel the need to comment on sabbatical videos, The further you move from a nation's capital, the more rules and regulations seem to blur, replaced by local customs and a self-sufficient ethos. For small countries, governance may feel uniform, but large nations face a distinct challenge: not every region feels represented, nor does every community see itself as part of the same whole. Take the remote regions of the U.S., for example. In places like Northern California, deeply rooted in the rugged independence of the Pacific Northwest, people often view Washington, D.C., as an abstract entity-irrelevant at best, intrusive at worst. Historically, federal agents weren’t always welcomed warmly, and the area’s reputation for missing persons during the marijuana bootlegging era painted a picture of a region that operates by its own unwritten rules. Russia’s vast expanse likely mirrors this dynamic. The remote Far East of Russia, as distant from Moscow and St. Petersburg as Northern California is from D.C., might harbor similar sentiments: a disdain for the wealth and privilege of the capital cities and a fierce local independence where people do as they please. It’s the natural byproduct of geography and human nature-when governance feels far away, communities create their own order. This isn't a rebellion-it’s a cultural reality. It speaks to the deeply human desire for autonomy and the divide between urban power centers and the rugged peripheries. Perhaps instead of seeing this divide as a problem, we should recognize it as the heartbeat of a nation: diverse, complex, and inherently local. The voices from these far-flung regions remind city dwellers of a truth they often overlook-what works in the capital doesn’t always translate to the edge of the map.

@ the other forms of ID are schools, & etc. Yes, everyone must have ID in USA, some don’t and get in trouble. Watch you tube videos of police & your will see.
Yeah, what happened was basically the guy visited a probited area which was probable cause for his detaining. Then, he resisted arrest (another charge). Then, he probably had metabolites of stimulant medications (which are legal in US) which caused false positive for meth during routine drug test as part of his arrest. And the biggest problem of all -he entered Russia with anti-Russian videos which violated the Russian criminal code of discrediting the armed forces. To be honest, a few days imprisonment for this is a slap on the wrist. It's obvious to anyone capable of thought that his story is a dramatization and entirely his own fault.
First, he had never posted anti-Russian videos, That's total BS Unlike Russia, Americans have freedom of speech. All he did was express his fears of entering Russia due to the current political climate. While in Russia, he was surprised at how much he was enjoying his trip. Being arrested by the Russian Gestapo under frivolous charges warranted every bit of his fears.
Everything about that guy S. screams fakeness and sometimes hidden, sometimes obvious hatred of Russia, the latter being the characteristic of his channel and audience as well. I wouldn't even be surprised if he worked for the US intelligence under the pretence of vlogging. In any case, he is trying hard to denigrate and disrespect Russia in every sense. Actually, everything was very clear to me pretty much as soon as I saw him and some video of his, and probably to anyone with some common sense, there was no need to watch more or think much about it. While there might be some US citizens who have been unfairly jailed in Russia, and there are Russian citizens who have been unfairly jailed in the US, he is not one of them. All that happened to him is absolutely his own fault, and the outcome actually turned out to be very lucky for him. He should shut up and be grateful everything ended the way it did, but guess what - he used it to denigrate Russia again. By the way, hi Igor, after quite a long time, I finally caught some time to sign in again, from my 2nd profile, the one YT didn't block. Due to shadowbanning, commenting and even participating in livestreams is a chore, so I rarely have the time and motivation to sign in. By the way, that's also why I totally understand your struggles. It's so frustrating even to me, and I don't depend on YT in any way. But I do watch all of your videos and lives, I enjoy your content, and you had some great guests as well. Glad to see you're getting more views now, although you still deserve so much more. All the best! 🙏
No one put him in jail, no prison )) This is called "detention pending clarification of circumstances." This happens to absolutely any person, be you a tourist or a citizen of Russia, if you do not have documents confirming your identity, and you are in a prohibited place, or you behave strangely. You are taken to the police station, or its equivalent, you are questioned, they call various services that can confirm your identity and your status. Then, if you did not violate anything, and did not do anything against the law, you are released. If you were not clean, you are issued a fine, or something else. That's it! As a citizen of Russia, I was also detained by the police once, because my friends were involved in a fight with other guys. Everyone was released as soon as they had an educational talk with us, and if my memory serves me right, they did not even issue a fine, we were teenagers, no crime )) \\\ Да никто его не садил, ни в какую тюрьму )) Это называется "задержание до выясниния обстоятельств".

i was a fan of his for his love of languages and independent way of traveling, until i heard him say something in a side remark about ru 'starting some stupid war'. in that moment i realized he was just some woke uniformed yankee dude. unlike him, real travelers IMHO always have their ear to the ground and keep themselves informed about the true context of events wherever they are currently traveling. shame on him, but he is not alone, social media has bred a generation of shallow superficial people who live in their heads and not in the real world
The war is stupid and Russia is the aggressor. Tons of civilians were killed, including children. Ukrainian children were abducted to Russia. We saw what happened in Bucha. If anything, Tommy was too diplomatic on the country, I wish he'd be much more blunt.
Has Tommy become a little too clickbaity for my taste? Yes. Did he push the limits for the purpose? I'm pretty sure. Is he pro or anti Russin? I find it obvious that he went into the Russian adventure expecting that it would be troublesome to come into the country and openly identify as an American. He said so from the get go! Is he the only true, real badass traveler om UA-cam? YES!
Bold and Bankrupt did something wrong and illegal that is why he got banned. Sabbatical for sure did you share the whole story and instead made his story more like a book for viewers.
1) I agree he is a trouble maker. 2) I think the law is a unneeded law in this case. China is not going to invade Russia. 3) I agree with you Russia is a wonderful country...
I've watched a couple of Sabbaticals videos. There is something off with this guy...like he has high functioning asperger syndrome or autisim. He has a sense of not being very "self aware". As for his story of getting arrested, I'm not buying it. I like your videos! Russia during the holidays is magical! Great people and food!
You have a different impression than me. I thought he was just being dishonest - it didnt occur that it might be a condition/syndrome. It seemed like his trip was a copy of Bald & Bankrupt's trip. It would be a shame if this reinforces people's paranoia. I met wonderful, friendly people in Russia and I look forward to visiting again.
I think he tried to replicate the Bald and bankrupt route. and somehow been arrested in the same vicinity. I don't buy it. though I recommended foreigner to Travel those regions with local. or friend that speaks the language and knows the culture.
i had 10 minutes of hilarious loughter listening to that guy, trying hard to make Tommy somehow suspicious yea yea he was suspicious visiting border region he should know better how could he know,in normal world that is not a problem, freedom of movement is given but what to expect, even Benjamin Rich was imprisoned and kicked out of Russia in his last video about Russia he said-one person on line that had bollocks to stand up and represent Russia in good light to show how great it is and the government bans me Russia believes nobody and lies to everybody
No. Tommy clearly lied in his videos. He said "unjustly arrested" after he broke the law. He kepts contradicting himself. He tried to copy Bald & Bankrupt then was butthurt when he got a bigger punishment. Was it worth it to him? When you are a guest, whatever the country, you should be respectful. Tommy acted like a douche
I agree what you're saying man as seen as UA-cam page I know what happens he's been doing this before I really like this guy whatever his name is is not a good guy but thank you for saying this trying to figure out how this goes but I do agree with you dude I'll see you next video dude good job
It’s his thing, looking for trouble in foreign countries, just look at his other videos. He was deliberately going into a restricted area, he knew what he was doing. Vlogging is just business, nothing personal. 😏

First, he had never posted anti-Russian videos, That's total BS
Unlike Russia, Americans have freedom of speech. All he did was express his fears of entering Russia due to the current political climate. While in Russia, he was surprised at how much he was enjoying his trip.
Being arrested by the Russian Gestapo under frivolous charges warranted every bit of his fears.
NAFO alert 🚨👆
@scottmingersoll 😂😂😂 yeap
@@grunt1807 Exactly! I was surprised how pro-FSB terror the comments are here, but glad somebody can still think clearly.
When he does pay a compliment to Russia it's always in a back-handed way. He's a phony, and more than a little bit strange.
Everyone was released as soon as they had an educational talk with us, and if my memory serves me right, they did not even issue a fine, we were teenagers, no crime ))
\\\
Sabbatical is a clown 🤡
I agree, I was watching since first video when he got to Russia and I felt like his coverage is very "sleazy and dark" I watched and got unpleasant taste in my mouth (like after touching a snake), so I didn't subscribe to him. Regarding what he was looking for - its a niche of western bloggers - they go to different countries looking for trouble. This was not first trouble of this guy. And he knew he is breaking the law but he still did it. and he got arrested and deported - the rest of the story he made up, cause his timeline does not much with his activity online (which couldn't be done from jail)
He’s been exposed as a fraud
yes sabbatical is a liar
That guy is basically the definition of clickbait. You only need check his titles. It's dishonest even before you actually click it.
-- Igor, I'm with you. Sabbatical is a phony guy...
Hes a zio propagandist!
I knew it was fake.

Great video Igor . thank you.. happy New year all the best
i was a fan of his for his love of languages and independent way of traveling, until i heard him say something in a side remark about ru 'starting some stupid war'. in that moment i realized he was just some woke uniformed yankee dude. unlike him, real travelers IMHO always have their ear to the ground and keep themselves informed about the true context of events wherever they are currently traveling. shame on him, but he is not alone, social media has bred a generation of shallow superficial people who live in their heads and not in the real world
The war is stupid and Russia is the aggressor. Tons of civilians were killed, including children. Ukrainian children were abducted to Russia. We saw what happened in Bucha. If anything, Tommy was too diplomatic on the country, I wish he'd be much more blunt.
Haha you were only a fan of him as long as he shared your opinion? Isn't it a bit stupid to expect that everyone has similar views?
So the war isn't stupid then?
@@Michael-pq2fz then the dumbest country is America...🤣
It would not surprise me if so many 'UA-camr's'are using that cover for their intelligence service gathering mission.
"Unlawful speech"
Has Tommy become a little too clickbaity for my taste? Yes. Did he push the limits for the purpose? I'm pretty sure. Is he pro or anti Russin? I find it obvious that he went into the Russian adventure expecting that it would be troublesome to come into the country and openly identify as an American. He said so from the get go! Is he the only true, real badass traveler om UA-cam? YES!
Bold and Bankrupt did something wrong and illegal that is why he got banned. Sabbatical for sure did you share the whole story and instead made his story more like a book for viewers.
Thanks for sharing your's pov . Greetings!
Hot take.
I agree, he is ignorant
Tbh I feel the truth is somewhere in the middle, but you made a lot of good points
Sabbatical is an actor with a poor education backround.
1) I agree he is a trouble maker. 2) I think the law is a unneeded law in this case. China is not going to invade Russia. 3) I agree with you Russia is a wonderful country...
Thanks to China, Canada doesn’t become like America. That’s my new perception.
He had been looking for GULAK since the first day... I immediately realized that he was looking for TRAVEL....
Thank you for that.
BTW Mr.Bald has also exposed himself in the last videos about Syria.
Fan boys and girls? You just called me a fan boy... lol.... Why is Russia soooooooooooooooo insecure. Take me to your leader.
Look secure when a possible spy is arrested in a location you would expect one to be arrested
ha ha ha omg, igor is the kind of person that would join wes watsons crew.
Didn't know the name sabbatical. I looked at his picture. I've seen him but I never watch him nor do I follow him. Poser imo. Not interesting.
I think he tried to replicate the Bald and bankrupt route. and somehow been arrested in the same vicinity. I don't buy it. though I recommended foreigner to Travel those regions with local. or friend that speaks the language and knows the culture.
Sorry bald and bankrupt in Syria without papers not Iraq 😊
Ya hes a Liar for Views. I don't trust him. It doesn't make sense at all
Said Igor nice try
Thanks for clearing this up. I enjoyed this video. 😊❤
You're just a grifter using Tommy to get more views. I follow Tommy before he was famous, your allegations about him are 100% false.
i had 10 minutes of hilarious loughter listening to that guy, trying hard to make Tommy somehow suspicious
yea yea he was suspicious visiting border region he should know better
how could he know,in normal world that is not a problem, freedom of movement is given
but what to expect, even Benjamin Rich was imprisoned and kicked out of Russia
in his last video about Russia he said-one person on line that had bollocks to stand up and represent Russia in good light to show how great it is and the government bans me
Russia believes nobody and lies to everybody
Lots of jalous people?
i've come to like you channel. Not so much in the very beginning.
👌🏻 well thas good!
No Comment ;) ;) ;) Anyway, He speaks Russian(simple short sentences) & can read Russian. I believe he said he was born/etc Paraguay/somewhere in South America.
Naah he doesnt speak.. if youd know what thinks he says so definetely not… with that guy who spoke nicely of him and he was diseespecting the guy - he was simply saying ”daaa daaa” like an ass
@@Igorinrussia I saw a video with him speaking extremely short sentinces & simple questions. Kind'a like 3-4 words only. He appeared to understand simple replies. More I don't say ;) ;) ;)
