Ahhh the power of hydraulics! Sure makes life a little easier. The last couple of years we've been up to are neck in dead and fallen down trees. It's too the point we have so much we're giving it away to neighbors for firewood or simply putting it into a pile and burning it just to get rid of it. Some trees are so massive we just let the trunks lay and let them rot.

It looked to me just cutting down that tree brought a winter's worth of firewood. Yes that Oliver made the job look too easy, but there is much more wood to grab. We use our woodstove and a geothermal system to heat our house during the winter.

He don't mind putting undue pressure on the rollers and bushings. Let alone the cylinders. Nice rig.

My neighbor and I bought an Oliver OC-3 and for the last few months, we have been working on it to put the old gal back to work. We finally got it to run, but then the engine started overheating. A record radiator an an unconventional flush solved that problem - high-pressure water and air through the drain port on the block. She runs very well. It has a backhoe attachment which seems to pose another problem: The backhoe ia very heavy and it is kind-of spooky to drive over terrain that isn’t level. The front rollers bob up and down while moving with the backhoe on - I worry about flipping the thing. I noticed you have what looks like weights on your seating area. Any advice on manipulating the center of gravity on that tractor?

It is an Oc-4. It has 4 boggie wheels. Oc-3 has 3 boggies wheels. Your welcome.

It is a modified Oc-3. When my grandfather restored it years ago, several parts from other model Olivers were used. It was not meant to be restored to factory condition, but as a helpful crawler to work on jobs.

@@ctyankeejr I watched the video a few times. And I noticed the boggie wheels look different than the crawlers have. I have an Oc-3 and an HG-68. It is interesting. Thanks

The tree you pulled down in your own video was actually coming at you and fell a little short.
      They didn't do that.

And by the way, I've owned Olivers for thirty years.
The tracks can't fly off. They can come only partly off the idlers, but they can't fly off, you just stop because of the jam.
