    Arrival of the statue of Commodore John Barry into Rosslare Harbour from the USA.. His fondness and appreciation for the sea gained in Ireland would see him climb steadily through the ranks of America’s sea-going forces to become a commodore and earn the title ‘Father of the American Navy’.
    1968 -
    Arrival of the French ferry, Leopard. from LeHarve.
    Aer Lingus Flight 712 crashed en route from Cork to London on 24 March 1968 killing all 61 passengers and crew. Only 14 bodies were recovered. The aircraft, a Vickers Viscount 803 named "St. Phelim", crashed into the sea off Tuskar Rock, County Wexford. Although the investigation into the crash lasted two years, the cause was never established. The British salvage ship, Reclaim, is seen docked in Rossalre. The Irish Navy also rendered assistance.

    Duke of Rothsay’s sister ship, Duke of Lancaster is on a beach in North Wales, still to be seen to this day, minus lifeboats.

    lovely ..i recognized a "Normandy ferries " ship , the : "Leopard " a French ferry , this ferry was on LeHavre - Southampton too ..;and Rosslare at this period ... :)
