I think it’s totally fine she hasn’t seen the Star Wars films. Everyone has their own thing. What warms my heart is Daniel watching them one-by-one with his daughter, answering all her questions, sharing time… Lovely. ✨
she most likely grew up in a patriarchal household so prolly wasn't interested in space movies or science fiction. heck, Sci Fi wasn't even popular if asked jocks and the popular kids, albiet the originals did garner quite alot of success but the fan base was mostly male. i forgive her. not a big deal. agree. 100%
I completely agree with you 😊. I probably would have let my 5 year old watch the first 3 movies with me. I don’t remember them having too much adult content and as long as I was watching with my child I could explain any of the content that might be more questionable. And there is always pause, stop, or FF so what’s the big deal ??
And I hope that shes seen eposides 4-7 and never sees the rest. I love elements of all of the movies, but, like omfg, each trilogy starts with an orphan, on a dessert planet who wants to be a starship pilot!!! Originality defecit here....
They need to watch the clone wars and rebels.
Natalie Portman didn't watch them either until after being cast, I don't think it's quite unusual, just something fans like to make a big deal about.
This woman does not age!
She looks just as lovely as she did in _The Mummy,_ twenty-something years ago.
She is 52 in this interview...looks early 40s!
Considering I often see her in serious stuff, I love hearing Rachel's hilarious and beautiful laugh. She's heartwarming and funny.
She never stops being talented, interesting, gorgeous, and cool. She's been kicking ass for like two decades now.
Three decades, actually.
yeahh she fantafuckingbulous!
Rachel Weisz is my biggest celebrity crush. She's ridiculously charming and beautiful, and she's fantastic actress to boot! Love this woman!
Rachel Weisz is so charming and funny, she's lovely.
She's done some phenomenal work and is such a brilliant actress, natural and believable in everything she does. I doubt she rates it in her pantheon of best work but there will always be a special place in my heart for her Evie in The Mummy. Intelligent, feisty, funny, charming. And with Brendan Fraser's recent triumph, one of the few action adventure flicks to star two Academy Award winners. They had wonderful chemistry. Even this far on, would be nice to see them reunited in something.
Rachel was divine in The Mummy, as she is in basically everything she does.
Her Evie was good. But her as Tania in Enemy at the gates with Jude Law was also brilliant.
Rachel never got over the fact that her best supporting actress nomination for The Favourite didn't Win a Oscar
The first two mummy movies were so special! I watched them over and over again! definitely not like any old action flick.
Rachel and Brendan both seem like such a genuine people off screen. You’re right, seeing them together again would be awesome.
To me she invented the badass librarian.
I’ll always love her for ‘being’ Evie.
❤
I started watching Star Wars at nearly five. It's the BEST age for a little girl to start: You have NO clue what's going on, but there are lots of pretty glowing lights and rousing music to get you excited. 😊😊
Same watching Star wars with my dad was such an important childhood memory I love those movies. I judge this woman a little bit for telling her daughter that Star wars is broken
@@charlottehenthorn pssss maybe her daughter and Daniel are watching Star Wars while she’s doing promo tour 😂
I love Star Wars - but it’s also a lot of violence, pointless death and sex/-ism. I understand her wanting to wait for her daughter to be a little bit older
She’s so sweet and funny and smart!
Rachel Weisz is such a treasure. I love it when she smiles.
She looks like a little kid, I thought she was like 30, I cant believe she is older than me tbh and I'm friggin 40. Such a gem
❤
I swear her laugh could cure disease.
She’s amazing in The Fountain, one of the greatest films ever made.
Beautiful film. Underrated masterpiece. So much emotion. One of Hugh Jackman's best performances.
I couldn’t agree more!
you need lsd to understand it
She’s actually so correct, the 9 Skywalker saga movies, rogue one, solo, the clone wars movie makes that 12!!
You're right. Although I am sure it was more a lucky guess than an informed one

Well if we are speaking about star wars movies then I wouldn't count solo. That's a movie about the early years of Han Solo and is more star wars adjacent as it only sets up a character of the star wars saga. So she isn't correct by the numbers. And in spirit Stephen hits the mark, because George Lucas always wanted to tell the saga in nine movies. If we are really counting everything, we would have to include the second Ewok movie.
@@santiagocampillo-lundbeck1338 It’s still a Star Wars movie. Don’t be a twat
@@jessetorres8738 Correct. If you include war of the clones then all bets are off for one-off SW stories. Including the Holiday Special :)
And of course, this is all not including all the animated series, and all the live action series D+ has released and is producing.
She said that she had not played twins before when Stephen asked her. But she has, in Constantine. How could she not remember that? Anyways, I love her. She's an incredible actress, and she's absolutely beautiful.
To be fair, one of the twin she played in Constantine was dead tho.
She's answered that question in an interview. She said that she mostly acted as one character since the other one is dead most of the film.
Good point, she has done a lot. It wasn’t a memorable role for her perhaps.
heck, she‘s been in a lot.
@@analusilvaj and the other one had no speaking parts I think
One of the most underrated Rachel Weisz films is “Definitely, Maybe”
Rachel Weiss is such an excellent actress, from The Mummy to Enemy at the Gate to Constantine to The Fountain.
A lovely person and a delight to see here.
✌️🖖
I've adored Rachel since I first saw her in The Mummy
Rachel Weisz is a good sport. Wonderful actress.
Rachel weize is my favorite actress i like all of her movie s d she still beautiful i never change i can't believe she's already 53 now❤️❤️
Rachel Weisz did a great job! Love her work.
Even though I like StarWars (the old ones) , I love Rachel Weisz ❤
Lovely lady. Thank you, Stephen, for having awesome guests on the show.
man shes iconic been a major role is several of some of my favorite films.. the mummy, constantine, bourne legacy, the fountain,
I almost never watch the celebrity interviews; I just don't care what most of them have to say. Rachel is one exception--she is charming, intelligent, and genuinely funny.
She's got such a dorky laugh. I love it.
Everyone of ya'll agrees that Colbert conversation made our day:
Why didn't ANY of my 50 plus teachers look like her post 45 LOL
Because....$$$
Her role in enemy at the gates was really good 👍 I own the movie
prettiest woman i have seen
"Am I a fan? I've been alive for the last 40 years!"
God bless this wonderful nerd. 👏🏼
Bless her heart 😃🥰
Rachel Weisz looks so young! Naturally. She is beautiful.
"No... *I* am your Father.... Nanu nanu!"
-Darth Vader, just before calling Orson.
So happy she is returning in The Thunderbolts. 😊
I hate it when people keep asking you about something you don't know to shame you that you don't know it. I say that as a Star Wars fan.
Such a good point, thank you! She was so gracious about it
I don't think he was shaming -- more like finding some humor and checking to see if she's learned bits like "The Force" through cultural osmosis. I know memey bits of all sorts of movies I've never seen.
@@concinnus You're right, shaming is too strong, but IMO (as a fellow non-Star Wars fan) it went on too long and was super boring
Yes, some people might think that knowledge of classical literature is more important than knowledge of Star Wars, for example. What if they started someone who obviously had not read much on the literary greats and their works?
When she guesses 12 films and Stephen says no…
Except there are 12 films 😂
As someone who recently just watched the original Stars trilogy as adult, I think I would have been more impressed if I watched it as child. For example, watching Luke realizing Vader is his father is such a significant scene when you don’t know it’s coming
I know her as the wife of the best Bond of all time but she is a phenomenal actress in her own right. Don't worry Rachel.. I don't know anything about Star Wars either.
Dead Ringers was a disturbing, frightening, incredible movie. Fingers crossed for this one; I hope it lives up to the original.
Wow she looks amazing. I've always loved her as an actress. My faves were oldies, the Mummy movies. The chemistry between her and Brendon Frasier made those first two films. The third one fell on its face without her.
Everyone of ya'll agrees that Colbert conversation made our day
She is so likeable. And beautiful.
Omg, I watched movie as a kid and never knew the name!!
Awsome film!! Jeremy Irons
I started at 5 and was obsessed!! But if I had kids I’d hold off on some of the films..
I saw the original Star Wars 17 times in the theater. And we waited overnight for tix. That line was CRAZY!
I am in the same boat as Rachel - never watched a Star Wars movie all the way through. Now my kids (30+) are trying to get me to watch. I was more a Star Trek guy and they don't get it. I might have to do binge watch one of these days.
Loved the shout out to Mork and Mindy! Nanu Nanu
I agree!
Watched the OG Mummy the other day still a classic -- imagine a true sequel to The Mummy Returns with Fraser AND Weisz, that'd blow up the news! And do really well I think at the box office.
First off, the best suit EVER!!! 🤩🤩🤩 Rachel is just so phenomenal 😍😍😍
I'm not obsessed with this saga either. But I really like Rogue One.
Me too.
She is absolutely beautiful.
MAN - the band sounds good on that walk-on music!!!
Can tell Stephen 💕 and has a crush on Rachel 😂
Can't wait to watch Dead Ringers! Love the original with Jeremy Irons... Creepy AF 😬
Sorry to be shallow, but aside from her talent, sSO beautiful!
Happy birthday Rachel Weisz. UR beautiful. The Mummy & The Mummy 2 Return is awesome. Me and my youngest brother love The Mummy. Pretty kool. Love it. Enjoyed the action. And Fred Claus is great Christmas movie. We love it, also. Brothers. Christmas movies r amazing. UR amazing legend! Full support and respect. I watch Star Wars movies in 2002. Can't remember, but never forget. Star Wars is my favorite movies, all of them. I no 2 actors, they're both from London. 1 actress who is Rey and 1 actor who is Fin! I wish, Rachel was in Star Wars. March 7, 2024 through March 7, 3024
dead ringers was flat out the scariest movie i ever saw. i cant wait to see this.
Rachel Weisz is phenomenal at playing twins.
For those complaining about the name of the first Star Wars movie, it *was* just that. It was a stand alone movie in 1977.
"They" - being Lucasfilm or whomever - added the Episode IV: A New Hope bit at some time after. Maybe for George Lucas to do the prequel ideas.
Those of us that saw the original back in 1977, we can assure everybody there was no "Episode IV: A New Hope" in the opening credits. When I bought the series on VHS all three definitely had the episode numbers.
I must admit, though, I can't recall if The Empire Strikes Back was *always* called Episode V because I only saw it once in the theatre.
A New Hope was added when Empire came out FFS. That is it's name whether the theatrical release had it or no, and you can deal with that.

We "got" it.
I remember when Return of the Jedi was going to be called Revenge of the Jedi.
I am Korean. I'm looking at this a second time I don't like the genre where I play a double role, but Rachel made me go beyond this It has a unique production and is beyond the original❤
Wow! She look beautiful and her outfit is great!
Her laugh is soooo 🥺🥺🥺🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
The original Dead Ringers is brilliant. Just stunning.
star wars is my fave franchise, but i can’t get mad at rachel bc she’s one of my fave actresses 🫢
Just the thought of Daniel and his daughter watching Star Wars is an amazing thought as Daniel is secretly a Star Wars and sci-fi nerd plus he loves video games
"What is the Spiritual Force...?"
"The Schwartz!"
Thank you, yogurt
I was waiting for Stephen to point out that she also played a twin in "Constantine" !!! :-)
I love her laugh ❤
Come to think of it, she's the only Bond girl who's actually been 'debriefed' by 007🙄
Taaaaaa😂😂😂😂
They all get "debriefed" eventually 😂
Her answer of 12 movies is actually correct: Episodes I - IX (1977-2019), Rogue One (2016), Solo (2018) and The Clone Wars (2008)
She is so gorgeous and smart.
Also never seen Star Wars and didn't know the first one was called Star Wars. Pretty much the same reaction I get when people ask. 😂
Awesome interview btw. I love how Stephen always interacts with his guests!
❤ She's stunning 🤩🥰
My fondest memory of Rachel Weisz is from the Mummy movies. Well, not all of them, the first two.
Always thought Rachel was a very intelligent actress actually ❤
She is spectacular in Dead Ringers ❤
She is so charming 🤌🏻🤌🏻
She was great as Saphira in Eragon. Love that movie.
Plus, I’m with her. I never got into the Star Wars series.
5:27 she's so cute here hahaha
I thought she might be a little young when the original came out, but she is a couple of years older then me and old enough to have remembered it. I watched Star Wars when I was 9 years old on a VCR about 20 times in a row
One of my first lady crushes ... saw her in the Mummy and have adored her since.
She is timeless! I need to know that skin routine!
I'd really have enjoyed an interview without the Star Wars 3rd degree
I get that Stephen is a fan but as the host he should have probably ask more relevant questions rather than grilled her about a movie series she doesn't care about.
Just my two cents.
That sounds like a really great story line 😊 👍
Father daughter time. Awesome! Use the FORCE.
📺🧸💥🧸💥🧸💥🧸🧸💥
She has a great laugh. 😬
I've never seen Star Wars either. Those questions were hard AF for me too lol.
Wow Stephen, you failed on the starwars trivia.
Rachel was right. ;O)-
yeah he was so condescending on star wars while being wrong. He should stick to LOTR.
rachel is so awesome i will let the starwars thing slide for now
She was actually correct about the number of Star Wars films.
@Dunybrook There's 11, not 12. Pretty close though.
@@jhunt5578 someone else pointed out the clone wars animated movie I forgot about, so she's correct.

She is the best Bondgirl since Vesper.
The hottest woman alive. She's flawless.
I dunno. Hayley Atwell and Emily Blunt are pretty fricking ridiculous.

1. Dr. Thurmond - The Simpsons 2010

2. Wanda - Fred Claus 2007
3. Evelyn O'Connell, Neferfiri - The Mummy 1, 2 Return 1999 - 2001
I love her. I've been a fan of hers sense I seen the mummy
It's a second time that I know Rachel has played twins. Constantine being the other one
Love her.
That Cronenberg movie was deliciously twisted when I saw it all those years ago! Awesome that she just made the characters women. But it also might change the feel of the doctor/patient interactions as a woman examining women. Finally, a remake that might have something to say and not just be another cash grab reboot! (Looking at you, live action Disney...lol)
Larry David once said that he watched TV with his teenage daughters as a way of 'just being in the room with them'. While my wife was travelling with work I used to have TV dinners with my 5 & 8 yr old daughters and watch an hour of Simpsons and another of Friends every night. That and dogs mean that I can drive the girls to school and actualy talk - about dogs and Big Bang Theory, but we talk:)
The new Dead Ringers series sounds like a deeper dive into the Patty Duke Show.
oh my god, I did not realize that there was a remake of Dead Ringers. I just saw it again in an actual theatre, a week ago in Santa Ana @ The Frida. It is a gorgeous film. Now i will be forced to watch this remake, and beg that they did it justice.
💗🖤💞 she has the body for that outfit. Goddess charm overload
Olivia is a big fan. I liked that bar scene.
Craig is one fortunate guy.
