That's my Bug. It was originally built over 30 years ago by an old friend of mine. I acquired it a few years ago as an abandoned project with many of the parts long gone. Body is a 1964. I think it was chopped 1 3/4" and the oval rear window was added. I had another friend graph the semaphore posts in, added a dash and front trunk area from a 1956, the sunroof clip is from a 1962, w-deck lid is from a 1954, front 4-tab hood is from a 1958, door handle areas have been converted so the earlier ice pick handles can be used, rear fenders are new Brazilian IGP and front fenders are the new Muscle Car GT fenders from BBT in Belgium. It's a real Frankenstein of a car!
I like the small chop ..it flattened the roof line out just enough while giving it a great slope to the rear deck lid , I would add a small sun visor to the front windshield to help make the chop look more than it is . It definitely has a great stance .
That's a cool VW. I had one for several years. That stance is called The California Look. That's how I had mine also. And the cool thing about a VW is no matter how bad a day I had at work when I got in the bug all of it just went away and life was good. Wish I still had it.
Surprise bonus footage!! Love it, I'm with you always liked them never owned one. Had a buddy that bought one that had the "shiftomatic" we had a blast in that thing.
Been following you for more than a year. Great CanCon content. From the south of Detroit. Like the detail that you show. Turn off the music. When it is on do you get demonitized?
Hey, I’m panicking since I might win a bid on a chopped roof beetle later today, what’s it like to get windows for them, do I have to get a specialist glassmaker? Or one of those glass knives.
Last model with the small window was 57 from memory...Cool car!
Yes this is welded in
Hey Rick. That is a cool car for sure. Your guys could only make it better. Thanks for sharing.🍁👍👍

The oval windows on VW's where from 1953 to 1957 before that they where splits, the engine hood is also from an older VW.
I agree
