Officially the City of Chicago, is the most populous city in the U.S. state of Illinois, and the third-most populous city in the United States, following New York City and Los Angeles. With a population of 2,746,388 in the 2020 census, it is also the most populous city in the Midwestern United States and the fifth most populous city in North America. Chicago is the county seat of Cook County, the second most populous county in the U.S., while a small portion of the city's O'Hare International Airport also extends into DuPage County. Chicago is the principal city of the Chicago metropolitan area, defined as either the U.S. Census Bureau's metropolitan statistical area (9.6 million people) or the combined statistical area (almost 10 million residents), often called Chicagoland. It is one of the 40 largest urban areas in the world.
Located on the shores of freshwater Lake Michigan, Chicago was incorporated as a city in 1837 near a portage between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River watershed. It grew rapidly in the mid-19th century; by 1860, Chicago was the youngest U.S. city to exceed a population of 100,000. Even after the Great Chicago Fire of 1871 destroyed several square miles and left more than 100,000 homeless, Chicago's population grew to 503,000 by 1880 - and then doubled to more than a million within the decade. The construction boom accelerated population growth throughout the following decades, and by 1900, less than 30 years after the great fire, Chicago was the fifth-largest city in the world. Chicago made noted contributions to urban planning and zoning standards, including new construction styles (including the Chicago School of architecture), the development of the City Beautiful Movement, and the steel-framed skyscraper.
Chicago is an international hub for finance, culture, commerce, industry, education, technology, telecommunications, and transportation. It is the site of the creation of the first standardized futures contracts, issued by the Chicago Board of Trade, which today is part of the largest and most diverse derivatives market in the world, generating 20% of all volume in commodities and financial futures alone. O'Hare International Airport is routinely ranked among the world's top six busiest airports according to tracked data by the Airports Council International. The region also has the largest number of federal highways and is the nation's railroad hub. The Chicago area has one of the highest gross domestic products (GDP) in the world, generating $689 billion in 2018. The economy of Chicago is diverse, with no single industry employing more than 14% of the workforce. It is home to several Fortune 500 companies, including Abbott Laboratories, AbbVie, Allstate, Archer Daniels Midland, Boeing, Caterpillar, Conagra Brands, Exelon, JLL, Kraft Heinz, McDonald's, Mondelez International, Motorola Solutions, Sears, United Airlines Holdings, US Foods, and Walgreens.

A ride at night is a great ride. In the city it is all lit up. You see fewer vehicles and people.
It so relaxing to me watching night time driving videos... one of my favorite things is putting it on when falling asleep
I like driving at night myself. In Chicago I like it.

@@TheTravelerRV some good memories, not all. I had a rough childhood.
@@chicagogalaxy670 i can relate. i have lived a rough life as well. So i have always tried to focus on the good memories.
@@TheTravelerRV its so hard to get these cringe memories out my head. Sometimes I come across things that reminds me of those memories.
@@chicagogalaxy670 this is why i try and keep my mind busy. with things. memories dance around of that day in my head all the time, so i have to remind myself to focus on the good ones. they can help us......
There's something about Chicago man.
i can relate. there is definitely something magical in the air when i am in Chicago. the winter and holiday season has always been my favorite time as well.
@TheTravelerRV Right even if it isn't as busy or as bright as New York City, there's just something about it that just makes it so awesome to drive around.
The city has energy. Traffic never truly dies down. The hour that there's less cars is 3am but even then, places like Cicero Avenue still have tons of traffic. That 3-4:30am window is your short window before you have everyone trying to rush to work
@@jjdd4307you’re wrong only reason Chicago isn’t as busy it was because of Covid pre-Covid Chicago was equally bustling as nyc ask anyone who lived in Chicago their whole life after Covid it became a ghost city but it’s back thriving now I suggest you watch Chicago tours and vlogs and see how active it is now if you don’t believe me,chicago is probably less busy in the winter/fall Chicago winter/fall is 10x more brutal than nyc so I don’t blame them for staying indoors even tho nyc is wayyyy larger than Chicago you’ll see about the same amount of people out and about in both cities tbh Times Square only part of nyc that is more crowded than parts of Chicago that’s about it everywhere else both are equally bustling nyc has more population but that doesn’t mean anything LA is 2x bigger than Chicago and isn’t that bustling in downtown Atlanta is smaller than Chicago but there’s a lot of traffic and people out and about in buckhead
If only it wasn’t so dangerous
Love chicago
thanks for the vibes
I love chicago
I feel ya, i do too😎
Wow , nice ❤
thanks for the good vibes
You’re the goat for these vids. Sound off w a good playlist and these vids is such a good vibe. If you’re editing this blue on it, goooooood shit my friend
thanks for the good vibes... i use Davinci Resolve for editing and color grading all my footage... as far as playlist goes, I just started a LOFI channel as well for music content. May start combining them into shorts soon to see how pep respond
.mm
😅
This goes down well with some Drake music. Cheers! 😊👍
I love it. that is why I don't put music on this channel. i want people to play the music they would listen to if they were riding along. One thing i like to do, is listening to old school southern hip hop (DJ Screw and others) but screwed down like we used to back in the day. all while driving in H-town (Houston).
@@TheTravelerRV Chicago freestyle feat Giveon to be more specific. 😉👍
Right on 👍
awesome content. mate~ 📹
thanks for the good vibes..
america is my life
So good watch nice videos like ㅠㅠ
thank you for watching
What dash cam do you use? I’m using a cobra one but during night it reflects the dashboard in the camera impacting the quality of recording
i use a Sony 6400 camera for recording. it also helps to use a black/dark cloth covering the dash so the surface isnt as reflective. hope this helps you get better shots.
@@TheTravelerRV no big deal, just a $850 camera... easy to afford. I'm sure the car jackers will love it. maybe get $100 bucks for it at the pawn shop.
@@sleazykilla360 it would be the day the channel ends, because im not giving it to them willingly. they will have to take it.

Thanks. I guess its a mind set. for me i never think/worry about negative things like this happening to me.
@@aqueenceereid4249 For Real. I have always had great experiences downtown myself.
