From my experience. After have having dozens of policies with State Farm for 28 years they sent me a notice they were canceling my home owners insurance because I was dead. Then they took the payment out of my checking account. I asked the agent to help me and he said it was my problem he could do nothing about it. I did something about it. My wife and I switched our 3 vehicles as well as our homeowners' policies away from State Farm and cut the cost about 40%. No claims in 21 years. Before we switched, we contacted the State Farm agent we had since 2003, who also was her parents' agent for over 40 years to ask why the rates had gone up so much. She said State Farm was a "premium" brand and premium brands cost more. We switched the next day.

Ben won’t consent because Ben is going to lie again like last time and doesn’t want evidence in court. Ben also won’t get paid from his bosses at State Farm if he doesn’t lie.
I was an independent adjuster and would definitely let you video me. When the owner was with me, I was less likely to miss things they had already seen. I took pictures of everything they wanted me to and submitted it with those pictures. The inside insurance adjusters would then look the claim over and go from there. Not everything was always covered but reasons would be given.
I believe this is the culture that the insurance companies create. They incentivize employees to keep claims to a minimum. It is no different than the phone companies giving the call center reps sales quotas and putting 30% of their pay at risk and if they exceed the sales quota, there are accelerators that greatly increase the payout. I should know, I was a supervisor for one that started with century. My pay was at risk too. The cramming on accounts was out of control. Senior leadership knew it but looked the other way because they looked good on paper. I was told by a VP that customers get an email confirmation of what was added to their account and the thousands of examples of cramming that I provided to him on a spreadsheet were all “buyer’s remorse”.
Our monthly auto premium insurance doubled auto insurance without warning. We couldn’t get the agent on the phone and he continued to send his clerks to do his dirty work. Ultimately they stopped answering our calls. We moved our six car, auto insurance policy and home policy away from Allstate to Erie insurance. Look at your premium history. Do the audit make the move and save your money. Explore your options.
Dropped them years ago because I never had a claim and the next thing I know my premium went up over 30%! Called my agent about it and he said it was due to hurricane and tornado damage in the south. I asked him why should I pay for their risks? He replied that that is just the way it is. My response was you want to bet? I have 15 days left on this policy and I’ll be canceling in the next few days when my policy from one of your competitors takes over, then I hung up on him and haven’t looked back.
A hail storm came through our subdivision a few years back. Every homeowner, that did not insure with State Farm, received new roof covered by their insurance company. Those neighbors that were insured by State Farm were told they did not qualify... Why would that be???
Same problem! One neighbor is just behind me (not state farn) had less damage and was approved for a new roof, gutters, etc after a brief inspection and had everything torn off and replaced within the week. We fought with SF for over a year and got told to take a hike. Agent stated they cannot do anything as their inspectors now deny as a rule and corp always sides with them. They also do not care if you cancel.
Thank you for posting this. I was denied a roof claim from a hail storm. It beat the grit off my shingles and exposed the fiberglass. My neighbors got new roofs. When the roofers came out and asked who my insurance company was, I said farm bureau. They all three said, "I know that guy and you're not getting a roof"
Farm Bureau is typically okay. “That guy” does not have the final say over your claim. If he denied it you are entitled to a reinspection by a different adjuster and/or appraisal with a third party public adjuster. Do not let them bully you, if the damage is there push it all the way they will break.
My garage door got buckled by a 93 mph wind. Measured. I THOUGHT I had a $500 deductible with State Farm. Nope. At some point in the past, my policy was converted to a percentage of my home's value. One half of one percent is $2100. I ended up replacing it myself.
@@bogeyman7436 - It was a classic derecho. I watched it come in from two hundred miles out. I taught severe weather analysis and forecasting for many years. I have forgotten more about weather than you will ever know.
I had a $1,000 deductible. SF changed my deductible to 1% of value. They use a high value as it gets them a higher premium but it also raises the policyholder’s deductible. My deductible is now well over $7,000. That’s how they prevent the filing of most claims.
I haven't had state farm insurance in years, and this is why..I video all my transactions with anyone like this especially insurance companies and government employees..
I love the guy with the camera! As a consumer wanting to be protected. Its great this guy is talking very forthright and honest with Ben. I had a doctor/insurance company lie to me during an impairment rating. The Dr told me I had a 4% rating. Then Liberty Mutual ptesented me with a lower number? Thank god I had an attorney during this process! I could have been shorted a significant amount in compensation!!!!
I had to hire a lawyer to sue State Farm because they insured a driver that ran a solid red light forcing me to T-bone him and they still tried not to pay for therapy or pain and suffering from my back injury. They’ve been sued by their own customers in 7 states for sneaking used parts into cars that got repaired on damage claims. Parts that then failed. They’re so crooked I call them Hate Farm Insurance.
I think you're confused on what "1-party consent" means. That's for recording a private conversations, mostly related to phone calls. There is no privacy in public, so the 1-party consent is irrelevant.
I’m a social worker you’re incorrect. It applies to conversations taking place on private property which can be anywhere from a hotel room to a doctor’s office, anywhere that basic privacy is assumed. So once they stepped inside that house he would need permission to record their conversation. He was right to keep reminding him of that. I live in a one party state and my crooked landlord tried to tell me I couldn’t record our conversation regarding usage of our storage spaces because we were in the basement of a privately owned property. But because I live in a one party state he couldn’t object and I got him on record.
@@Lunchladydoyle Starting your rant with "I'm a social worker" tells us you're clueless on the subject. Your first sentence just repeats what I said: "private conversations". Being inside the walls of a building doesn't change anything. If your recording device is in plain sight then it's obvious you're being recorded, so therefore that law wouldn't apply.
The camera guy is actually walking around on someone’s private property. To be filming in public, he would have to stay out on the street or on the public sidewalk.
I had to deal with Statefarm two times in one year and I got screwed both times. I wish I would’ve had a guy with the camera. I don’t know if all insurance companies operate like Statefarm but Statefarm made my life a living hell for a few months.
Sorry to hear that. Next time you have a claim, even with the new provider, hire a Private Adjuster company. I had to do that on a claim in 2015 that was denied and they got me most of the $15,000. that should have been awarded to me in the 1st place. The Private Adjuster company charged me 10% of the total. Much better for me as the Insurance company only wanted to pay me $1500 on a $15,000 claim caused by storm damage. I dumped that insurance company soon after and I was a 30 year customer with no claims before that. And got better rates from the new company. TBH I think all insurance is a scam.
@@thatotherguy1 thank you, very helpful… I think the insurance companies are bogus also but it’s been set up over the years to allow this deception to flourish…
State Farm is the company with the constant TV commercials featuring pro football players. I always wondered how they paid for so much advertising with celebrity appearances. Well, now we know. They don’t pay off on claims. That’s kinda what I thought in the first place.
I had State Farm and they actually replaced my entire roof over a little hail damage. The only reason I left them was because of the wildfires in California caused my rates to skyrocket. But I knew my agents personally and they were e very nice people and alway took very good care of anything I needed. I originally went with them because I had a large Box Truck that I had just for personal use, I bought it when I moved from Virginia to Texas. No other insurance company would insure it as personal use, they thought I was lying about its use. But State Farm insured it as personal use, and is was actually cheap because I hardly drove it as part of the insurance agreement.
I worked in home improvement as a painter and often noticed people had damaged roofs. I told customers to call their State Farm agents. State Farm was good about replacing them up to a few years ago. They got a new CEO that decided they were spending too much on roofs and their policy changed with adjustors denying roof claims. It took me 6 months to get State Farm to get a new roof after wind damage. I had to file complaints with the State Insurance Commissioner to get State Farm to pay.
My in-laws had 3 houses & 2 vehicles insured with State Farm for 50+ years & never filed a claim. A leak developed in one of the houses & State Farm denied the claim.
The problem is not just Ben. It’s the insurance companies. They encourage these practices. Ben bonuses on denying claims likely. There should be a third party at every inspection required by law. Otherwise it’s the wolves in charge of the hen house
Bonuses for denying claims? That would be illegal silly. They just shit can em and hire someone else cheaper they can train to their liking. Simple problems require simple solutions.

I have been without a kitchen and dining room for over a year and a half thanks to State Farm. I have hired a public adjuster and now an appraiser to get this moving. State Farm did send out a team to rip out part of my floor, subfloor, floor joists, drywall, ceiling, and insulation, but then basically shut down. I can look to my left and see framing. I fully intend to sue on top of what's going on now.
Also he wouldn't be videoed if he hadn't already been less than honest. We had an insurance agent forge a signature on our policy when we had a horse get out and get hit by a car, causing damage to the car, horse was fine by the way. The insurance agency recognized it when pointed out and that agent had charges pressed against him by his own employer.
I can’t believe State Farm is still in business. My experience has been that they put most of their resources into denying claims and fighting them in court. In addition to that I have never seen a competitive rate from them in my 46 years of buying insurance.
Yup.....been a State Farm customer all my adult life, as was my father.....Never had any trouble. Always had claims done fairly(often with more that I felt was the value).....Until this year. I had an agent show up to do a claim on my mom's house. He talked fair about the damage from a storm, clean up, and what the claim amount would be like......then when it settled, it was was for a vastly different value. Stopped in to speak with my agent and he just printed out the claim, and told me prices were going up. Years of patronage, never late on a payment, glowing reviews, and tons of recommendations to others what a great company they are.....all out the window.
Just as bad with allstate insurance. They advertise constantly that you should go with them because they have "Local" agents, then, as soon as you have a claim, they bring in an adjuster/inspector from out of state to deny the claim anyway.

I think all insurance companies after 5 years with no accidents claims should return your money and start over. I have a big problem giving someone money for something that might happen, just me !
So where does the money come from for the guy whose house burned to the ground and the insurance company pays 400k to rebuild his house, replace is belonging and pay his rent while his house is rebuilt? After paying 2k a year in premiums , for, let’s say 10 years? Insurance co collects 10k and pays out 700k-800k. And you want your money back. Your money covered this loss, along with the other policyholders.
I used to be a medical biller and I always advised people to not enroll with State Farm because they are unethical. I finally contacted the state insurance commissioner. After that State Farm knew not to try to pull these scams with me billing for patients in MVA.

This is the SECOND story like this I have seen lately. The first one I saw, was a poor woman, whose husband was murdered during a break in. Some valuable things got destroyed in the conflict, due to blood stains from her husband. State Farm told her that they don't consider that a loss event, or something to that affect. All she wanted was some bedding and beds, etc. covered, so she could replace them and help her with closure. Instead, she had to fight them while in her grieving. It was't until she went to her local news station that they decided to pony up. SHAME ON THEM!!
I had this done to me with American family. Guy was all nice about my storm damage and then reported it wasn’t storm damage. Had a second guy come out with my roofer. My roofer said it was clearly storm damage, I was basically told to sue if I didn’t like it. Insurance companies are an absolute scam

I had the same thing happen to me with my roof after a severe hail storm rolled through the area. Just about every house on my block and the surrounding blocks had roof damage, but according to the adjuster who came to my house, all the marks and impact damage on my roof wasn’t caused by hail, but he claimed it was heat blisters from defective shingles. When I climbed up on the roof with my roofer and showed him that these marks were clearly indentations and not blisters that go outwards, he then looked at my next door neighbors house and said “ well, your neighbors addition they put on top of their house shielded your home from all the hail”. I fought these bastards for 7 years, they ended up paying me 1,700.00 towards a new roof that cost me just under 20k. I refused the check, never cashed it, so they sent it to the State, where the State got a hold of me and asked me kindly to cash the check so it will clear out the file with the State.
He might be a former cop because he doesn't seem to like accountability at all If he doesn't like the first amendment there are many countries that he can move to that don't have it
Was recently told by a remediator that State Farm has done a complete flip from what they once were and are now the hardest to work with. They'll send multiple adjusters and drag their feet for months even on over coverage of the cost to replace from the incident when the insured has complete replacement.
Thank you for sharing. I was close to switch to State Farm car insurance and also add my house but I just saw a horrible news report about State Farm not paying claims on luxury car accidents and now this on their home insurance. I think I saw enough to look somewhere else, I possible small money I would save it is not worth the aggravation this insurance company could cause in the future. Thanks again.
Just as an aside, I have State Farm and I bought a vehicle that was victim of snow/ice damage from a slide off of a roof. There was no complaint or anything, I took the car to an auto body shop and the estimate was 3200 dollars. State Farm cut the check and covered my car. I acknowledge that insurance companies want to collect premiums and don’t want to pay out claims. But I haven’t had a horror story (yet) with any of my claims.
I was with State Farm for well over 30 years for my auto insurance. My parents had been with State Farm longer than that for both home and auto. I bought a new home last year and got a policy with them. When renewal time came up for this year my quote went up 50% from last year. The local agent gave me some spiel about the pandemic & inflation driving up costs of building materials thus driving up policy premiums. He urged me to bundle my home & auto to get a cheaper rate as I previously changed my auto to another carrier. It didn't pass the smell test. I shopped for a different carrier through an independent agent and will be paying 10% less than I did last year for the same coverage. No bundling needed. Many of these agents only care about their commissions. They couldn't care less about their customers-even loyal ones.
We had Travelers home insurance and when we were having repair done because of basement water I commented that this would probably raise our premium. The Travelers adjuster said actually no, It won’t affect it. Come time for yearly renewal that year, they raised the premium $1000. I went another way.
My state farm agent is great, but. I was parked. Came out and someone hit my bumper and was hanging off and some how front axle was damaged. My car was a work car with rebuilt title, so had bumps, scrapes, dents under car frame from before I bought it. So when adjuster looked at it, said I ran over something and was no longer a no fault, but can't remember, basically like I hit rock. Really didn't make difference, but think he would ask or look that I filed it was rebuilt title when I put it on my insurance 7 years ago.
I had a claim refused and asked for a second adjustment only to be surprised that USAA sent the same adjuster back to give the homeowner a second opinion. Proving they dont care if you're a veteran or active service, its all about the money. Finally after a long fight and threats of a lawsuit, an independent adjustment was agreed upon and they validated the claim. Once the job was completed, the homeowner switch companies.

I bought my first home and with in a week found the sewer pipe to be 100% clogged. found out paying $700 for a home inspection doesnt cover sewer lines. but somehow when I bought insurance through Allstate I selected "outside line" coverage .. They covered the $5000 plumbing bill even though we had barely even opened the policy. sometimes they actually cover claims. i was shocked and thrilled! now in the past I worked direcly with Mercury, Hartford, and AAA. closely! i worked with them on home claims and Mercury tries the hardest to please the home owners by far.. The Hartford was the worst. What I found is that insurance companies get contractors they like that will inspect the homes for them.. The contractors will get regular work from these insurance companies if the contractor can save them money. What I also found is that 75% of homeowners want upgraded everything instead of getting fair value..

State Farm pays all of those big name football players to do their TV ads. I'm sure that that is not cheap
We’d like to switch as well, can I ask who you decided to go to? We cover everything with them currently, including an umbrella policy since our pool install. Now I’m nervous

Paying Woke Jake is expensive and part of the reason Ben won’t pay this guy.
We need fewer companies like State Farm. They're all about SELLING the policy and COLLECTING the premiums. Just file a claim and see how they operate.
The white Jake or the new, inclusive black Jake.
State Farm/Nationwide/Allstate they ALL pull this crap
Dropped State Farm years ago because they refused to inspect my vehicle after an accident that wasn’t my fault. They took the word of the driver that hit me and paid him off and raised my rates. Best move I ever made
Sounds like a dashcam and a good lawyer would have helped out a lot I just bought one today in order to save my *ss when the time comes
Ben won’t consent because Ben is going to lie again like last time and doesn’t want evidence in court. Ben also won’t get paid from his bosses at State Farm if he doesn’t lie.

I dropped them for auto insurance they tried to charge me double what I’m paying now for a 22’colorado $231 vs.$119 yeah kiss my ass!! Thieves😡
Thank you for your service, sir! These criminal insurance companies MUST be held to account!
Yeah the incentive is they don’t fire you lol
Ben was trying to disappear faster than ludicrous 😂
The dude recording is so unbelievably measured and confident. Envious of that level of cool under confrontation.
An innocent man has nothing to hide.
And an innocent man also legally doesn't have to testify.
@@Mindraker1 People don't like to mention that lol.
The bottom line is when an insurance adjuster comes out and does an insurance claim tell me they need a written statement right there
Tell State Farm you will get lawyers involved. You paid your priemium, demand service. Go after his job.
Unfortunately lawyers aren't interested unless they smell $$, either theirs or yours.
The insurance companies have more money than you and are not scared of lawyers. They don’t care and empty threats mean nothing.
We should push for laws to make this a common practice. But just watch how the counterpoints begin to flare!😂
My family had a major loss because of State Farm, I would not recommend them to my worst enemy.
So glad I dropped State Farm. Bunch of crooks.
Since I was a teen, cameras have always been my best friend and someone who is doing something wrongs worst nightmare :) Come on Benny :)
State farm is the worst.
A hail storm came through our subdivision a few years back. Every homeowner, that did not insure with State Farm, received new roof covered by their insurance company. Those neighbors that were insured by State Farm were told they did not qualify... Why would that be???
It's called fine print.
It was a "act of God" in the fine print
The fine print must read, "screw you"
Same problem!
Read your policy..
Ask anyone who has needed them, they SUCK.
Farm Bureau?
@@stephenhanneken3041 Big in TN. I have them.
If it was a named storm that's the change. Why do you think every bad storm is given a name.
@@bogeyman7436 - It was a classic derecho. I watched it come in from two hundred miles out. I taught severe weather analysis and forecasting for many years. I have forgotten more about weather than you will ever know.
@dennissvitak5475 It will vary from location. The deductable can be up to 2% of the home value in a named storm.
I had a $1,000 deductible. SF changed my deductible to 1% of value. They use a high value as it gets them a higher premium but it also raises the policyholder’s deductible. My deductible is now well over $7,000. That’s how they prevent the filing of most claims.
@@JT_70 - Worse still? Deductible goes up every time our home values go up.
I haven't had state farm insurance in years, and this is why..I video all my transactions with anyone like this especially insurance companies and government employees..
Don’t be afraid of using a public adjuster you might be surprised on how well the results turn out
I love the guy with the camera! As a consumer wanting to be protected. Its great this guy is talking very forthright and honest with Ben. Especially if he has lied in the past to favor the insurance company! It's criminal insurance companies operate in this manner to minimize their bottom line. I had a doctor/insurance company lie to me during an impairment rating. The Dr told me I had a 4% rating. Then Liberty Mutual ptesented me with a lower number? Thank god I had an attorney during this process! I could have been shorted a significant amount in compensation!!!!
State Farm is kind, courteous and very professional...until you have a claim. The policyholder then becomes the enemy.
They get paid to deny claims , it is a bonus in their pocket
And you are busted Ben. To put it mildly. This was some absourd interaction.
Lile a good neibour? With a loud motercycle and crazy wife?
My in-laws had 3 houses & 2 vehicles insured with State Farm for 50+ years & never filed a claim. A leak developed in one of the houses & State Farm denied the claim.
Your insurance policy isn’t a maintenance policy.
State Farm at it's best. Like a good neighbor, State Farm will leave you out on your own
The problem is not just Ben.
There's a special place in hell for insurance companies. The only product you have to buy that you never plan on using. And they take full advantage...
Hey! State Farm! I take the lesson here about the company seriously. I won't ever allow my agent to get me a State Farm policy. EVER!
They don’t like it when they get caught
I dropped State Farm many years ago after being with them for fifteen years. Best move I made. I love AMICA!!! Been with Amica for 20 years now.
And have you had a claim with AMICA though?
@@danieluva2848 - Yes I have. Two cars. Rates did not go up. They paid both quickly. One was totaled and I got more than a fair value. We dropped State Farm shortly after moving to NC. The rates more than doubled with no claims in NC. All we had were past windshield replacements in FL.
All these insurance adjusters are frauds. Why even pay for insurance? Horrible. That guy needs to be fired asap
Because the government/law makes us have to pay just like everything else. A scam Americans havent woke up from yet just like taxes we sit back while the government grossly spends it on other countries and zero help to the ones actually flipping all these bills
They are trained to be dishonest to keep the company profitable.
I dropped farmers insurance after every roof in my neighborhood was covered except mine , did have good luck with state farm years later
Yep, Farmers insurance is worthless too.
The crooks insurance companies adjusters they're all Crooks
I’ve been hearing some shady things about State Farm.
Oh no, not the 1st Amendment! More people need to exercise their rights. Ben shouldn't have anything to worry about.

I think all insurance companies after 5 years with no accidents claims should return your money and start over. I have a big problem giving someone money for something that might happen, just me !
excellent point kind of like a term life insurance policy if I'm not mistaken
Who buys insurance hoping to use it? It's a nessesary evil that everyone has to pay.
Had a clear cut, documented by police report relatively minor claim against State Farm customer a few years ago and State Farm made it a nightmare to settle. Then had the audacity to send a ton of junk mail to me for moths afterwards trying to get me to witch companies and sign on with them. Uh, no.
Good job brother hold them accountable
Wow. These type of people of why your insurance are so much.
We were hit with a hail storm years ago and everyone except those with State Farm got new roofs

No one needs consent when you’re in public - only in a private area and anything you can see, you can record.
Can't help but wonder if he would be the same kind of person that would say you're not allowed to take his picture or video him in public as well? Just curious is all may not even be related.
Thank you for posting this and exposing corruption
I was with State Farm back in like the 1990's a lady hit my 84 Chevy K-20 with her Dodge Dakota i went into a ditch Totaled her truck did about 3 k damage to my truck State Farm wanted to total my truck i said no and they said yes they was i said well now my back hurts and my neck and im calling an Ambulance and in going to the Hospital and they wrote out the Check and Dropped me the next Day .....
State Farm sucks.
...
He might be a former cop because he doesn't seem to like accountability at all
If he doesn't like the first amendment there are many countries that he can move to that don't have it
Roofers arent necessarily the darlings of the world. 😢
Hate to break it to you but contractors are only slightly less slimy than State Farm adjusters.
Without any context, this is just a harassment video.
Without any rebuttal it looks like what is known as a convincing video.
How much did your premium go up after? I’m curious.
Surprisingly it went down.
Daaaannnng, I want part II of Ben running away from the ethical and actual duties of his job! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
We had Travelers home insurance and when we were having repair done because of basement water I commented that this would probably raise our premium. The Travelers adjuster said actually no, It won’t affect it. Come time for yearly renewal that year, they raised the premium $1000. I went another way.
Thank you for this. These insurance adjusters have no conscience.
Sir, I applaud you for handling that like a professional and adult and not creating a scene.
Contractors now are the same people that stand in front of police stations videoing everything until they’re confronted so they can put it on YT. Tell me they don’t sound like the exact same people.
Good job!!! I would use you if I lived in TN for my roofing needs!
They get paid to lie and say there’s no damage. Everyone should record interactions with any insurance inspectors.
