    Real tidy! It's amazing to me how much you know, Doug....electrical, dry wall, building, electronics, mechanics, roofing, wiring, growing....and you are still so young!
    Once you said you grew up in New York....so, it just shows all isn't bad from NY!

    Again u have taken what is generally an intimidating task and broken it down to “can do” instructions. This is what has kept me tuned in from the beginning. I have learned how to do things and the confidence that comes is amazing. Thank u guys for ur teaching style.

    Square-D is actually out here by me here in Kentucky. I know the label used to say Florence Kentucky. But that was 1980s. Now I don't know. I know they have a plant in Lexington or Louisville.
    As for that breaker box. That's the most beautiful, neat organized box I've ever seen. A lot of boxes are just a mess. Wires all over the place. Crammed in there.

    Just an FYI to consider for your next remodel - there are plastic structured wiring panels in several different sizes which I use because the wireless router can be installed inside the panel and there is no metal to interfere with the signal. I always get the largest panel I can to accomodate the modem, router, surge protecter, and wiring manifolds. The smaller panels can just get too crammed. Good work...enjoying your videos.

    • @diyfferent
      @diyfferent  3 місяці тому +4

      I know, but I like metal because it does help cut down on the emf. I did consider one of the plastic cases because I know we may sell the home someday and other people may want an RF transparent case for their wifi. But ultimately we decided to just do what we wanted. We don't use any RF wireless devices in our home.

    Looks like you did an amazing job on the electrical! Even though I don't know much about it. My husband was an electricians apprentice back in the day....but changed careers early on. I've grown up in t he south , and live in coastal Georgia...it's not so much the heat as is the humidity. I grew up not having air conditioning for years, and even as adults many years without. But I do appreciate it especially in my senior years. Keep up the good work! Peace and Blessings!

    Nice work Doug, neat and workman like. As for data cables. I would suggest running a CAT6 cable to each bedroom, the living room and the kitchen. Likewise, a coax cable to each bedroom and the living room. Finally, a CaT6 to the master bedroom for telephone. Finishing out the breaker box was my least favorite thing as an electrician. Never could get it as neat as I wanted.

    I just learned that a lot of the newer homes have these structured media panels installed. That's one of the things I love about the work you guys do. You install things that make everything easier and even things that ( to me) are fun. Like the coffee maker you installed in the other trailer that was connected to the water. Unless I misunderstood, at least that's what it looked like to me. But if that's what it was, it's convenient and fun. If it wasn't a coffee maker connected to the water, whatever it was, it still looked convenient.🙂
    I wish you guys a nice cool evening in front of an ice cold fan!
    Bye kids 👋 Have fun!😊

    I have always been cautious around electrical work. As a child I was helping Mother polish our hardwood floors with a big floor buffer. I accidentally hit the edge of our floor furnace with the buffer and it threw me backwards into a window. (Thank goodness heavy drapes were popular, they kept me from actually going through the window.) I would never tackle wiring a house, I do not have the confidence. I have much respect for anyone that does electrical work. I do have a question re the whole house surge protector. About 25yrs ago I inquired about having one installed in my brick home. GA Power told me it wasn't possible since the outside meter was cemented into the brick exterior. That didn't make sense to me but I dropped the idea. Apparently your system is a much needed upgrade, no bothering the exterior meter. Or is your system only for specific applications? If possible I would like to add a whole house circuit breaker system to my next, forever home and I appreciate the low maintenance of a brick home. I appreciate your hard work and of course your channels. Eevee and Doug are such an amazing couple! Outstanding editing Eevee, as always!!

      First, he's working with expensive electrical equipment with little to no room for errors. Second, he said multiple times how hot it was in there. I'm doing same with double-wide in NC, and it's 95 outside, but was 124 degrees inside. Also, he's making a video of the entire thing. ffs, he's not uptight. I bet you don't do any of those things one at a time let alone all at once.

    Wow, a whole system surge protector, I've never heard of that before, how cool! What is the logistical diyfference between ground fault & arc fault? I know GFCI is for wet, but been curious how it actually works, and never heard the term arc fault before, unless that's just the fancy term for "normal" breaker? Fire protection is key in case any of Belle's 🐉 come around there who're lightning-based. >>;=)
    That breaker box is like visual ASMR; you know you have a good electrician when everything is nice and tidy in a box. Also, nice when the number of knockouts is equal on each side. 💚 Coming along nice as always!

    • @diyfferent
      @diyfferent  3 місяці тому +2

      The arc fault breakers will detect abnormal arcing, such as a frayed cord or a loose plug that is creating sparks and it will trip the breaker.
      The ground fault will detect current leaking to the ground, so if an appliance gets water in it, there may be current shorting through the water to the ground, but it's not enough current to trip the breaker. The ground fault breakers will detect that and trip the breaker so that you don't get shocked.
