Omg me too. I have been in pain with my neck since surgery. But since the middle of dec I got the pain back in my shoulder and down my arm. Fingers tingling. Just went for mri waiting for dr to call. Hope you are better now
Oh Kim bless you, I had the CT Guided injection into c5 c7 a few weeks back and it did block the horrendous pain down my arm. I appreciate you videos I’m in hospital next week for the surgery same as you had! Take Care Sweetie xx
I’m right there with you, I’ve been watching a few of your videos…I 100% know where you’re coming from! I initially had ACDF from my C 4-7 five years ago. Well…I’m going in this Thursday for a posterior discectomy fusion. I’m going to have my C-3 - T-1. They’re going to enter in from the back, I have been so miserable.
Sorry to hear that... you were doing so well last video. Still in pain too and still on the fence about surgery..low back has been unrelenting lately. It sucks ☹️. Hang in there Kim 😉
I just had my C8 T1 fusion.b4 surgery my left arm pain was a 15. Wicked pain. I hope you will be ok. Before my surgery, I tried an epidural. It increases my pain. It fkn hurt. Bad Bad Bad.
Wow I’m so sorry to hear about the pain and feeling bad about lifting the box. I’m just like that to do something cause I’m so used to doing it all on my own that I’d blame myself for hurting my neck. I know what yr feeling cause with me not having ACDF yet I’m in constant pain. I can’t sleep well or do anything really. I suffer so much that I get depressed and cry a lot. I hope you get relief. I’m late on watching this and I died see yr updated post lol thanks for sharing.
My ACDF surgery was on 7/24/23 5c 6c 7c, still so very painful. I'm having facial and jaw pain, pain in the shoulder going down my back. I lot of fluids in my neck, and for some reason skin issues? Also Tailbone, and leg pain and feet burn. It all happened when I was fworking from home on the computer all day having my head down to much. I've been trying to fix my posture. I pray my bones gets fused and I get some relief soon. I do walk a lot. I've suffering for awhile.
I know that pain all too well.. ugh i feel for you. i hope its getting better. w the cold wet/weather coming -- make sure to get heating pads and maybe massages ?
So sorry to hear that you've been suffering. Hopefully the injection of cortisone helps. If not try asking about a nerve block. It's not a long term fix, but if it is nerve based it could give you some relief
Hi Kim, so sorry for your lifting of the box. I hope you get back well. I understand pain as I am in Pain as well. In my shoulder blade as well. But I havent had any surgery yet. Hope you get fixed by the doctor. Keep strong. You will be fine.
Going to do the surgery. End of October he wants a cat scan.its ok. Just focus on the now. You will be ok. Careful with the physical motions. It’s too easy to forget.
Yup be very careful. 1 wrong turn and you know it. It’s a tough surgery at 3 levels. I got off the pain meds as quick as I could. I needed to know that I wasn’t cured. You need the pain a little to remind you. I take maybe 1 pill a day. The more mornings usually. Those are the hardest for me.
Oh Kim I am so sorry that you are having so much pain. Hugs girlfriend ask about gabapentin, it is what I am taking for nerve issues. Stay safe and be well, keep us in touch
Aww, sorry to hear this. Your videos have been uplifting and informative. All my good thoughts to you and that this is temporary and there are much better days ahead!!
Yikes. I don’t think sure supposed to be lifting anything heavy after surgery. I was worried about you 1 week ago acting like it was no big deal. You had a serious surgery and needed to take at least 6 months off to heal. It can take a year to fuse! I’m 2.5 weeks out and it’s been tough. I’m cleared to drive and start pt. Other than that I do not nothing. Some days it takes me until 3 in the afternoon to get out of bed. I had the c4-c7 fusion too. So you need to make sure you do nothing !!!
Hi Kim! My name is Michelle. I’m suffering really bad too. I have not had surgery but have three bulging/herniated discs in my neck and just had an epidural last week I had a setback with a lot of inflammation and pain. Lots of crying. I’m a teacher and sitting up and typing away in my computer is painful b/c of the nerve pain from the pinched nerves. I’m suffering greatly. I tried Lyrica and it made me feel really loopy. I might try Gabapentin or a nerve block. Not sure what a nerve block is though. It was mentioned in one of the comments in this chat. Please let me know how you are doing? Why didn’t you go with the artificial disc? Just curious b/c I’m trying to decide what to do. Hope you are feeling better. We all need to stick together in this b/c I’m finding that most people just can’t understand the pain and suffering. It’s unbelievable for me anyway. I am going to NYC to see two top docs next week.
The gaba is really helping the fire nerve feeling. I had epidural today and it’s helping some. But still can’t use my last 2 fingers. So numb. Artificial disc from what I read and from what I heard from all the surgeons are not typically used in the cervical spine and generally aren’t approved for multi levels especially in the United States and in insurances. And there’s not a lot of longitudinal studies for it. That’s the information I’ve been told
I’ve been told that two levels are approved for cervical. By the way I love when you say this sucks, it does suck royally. It’s debilitating. I’m going to try to find out more info on cervical artificial disc replacements. In the end, I’ll prob be told the same thing. I’d love to chat sometime. This is so difficult to manage emotionally. I’m starting to do better with it but when I’m in pain, I can’t function much at all. :(
Ok thank you I have already been out of work for four month and my surgery is November 9th so naturally I'm pretty broke with no income for so long and listening to your story and others I've learned it can be a very slow process for recovery. Thank you for all your videos they really do help!
hello. yeah. i was on that after this! then switched to lyrica.. not sure it's doing anything thought - i kinda want off all meds to see what my baseline is
Thanks Kim for the timely warning to those just had this surgery. Take good care and looking forward to your recovery ❤
May God bless you healing
Praying for you Kim...
