    Good Info. I use regular citrus dish detergent, Lemi-Shine, Hot Water, stainless media. I have the Frankford Arsenal Lite Rotary tumbler. I do mine for 2-1/2 hours. Amazing how clean the brass is. I also purchased a food dehydrator ( this is what the brass dryers are) for considerably less money. I put the brass in my media separator. Turn multiple times in both directions. Then put in the dehydrator. Works great. It gives me piece of mind to know I am doing what I can to keep my dies clean. FWIW.

    What size of tumbler did/do you use requiring this cleaning recipe, 7 liter tumbler?

    It is way more satisfying to load and shoot clean, shiny brass than old, grungy brass! Probably easier on the sizing dies, too.

    I would look into Southern Shine Media, might be expensive to ship to SA, but who knows. Small little stainless pieces that look like the shavings from a big metal saw. They clean the inside of the case and the primer pockets better and faster than pins in my experience. I also stopped using the pins because I was tired of them getting suck in the necks of some of the calibers I shoot.

    This was precisely what I was looking for. I’m looking into reloading 300 aac blackout and I like you’re reasoning there, “I’m a snob.” Yeah pretty much same here 😆 there’s just something extremely nice about as shiny reloads as I can get. Seeing them in the bucket or container all ready to go all shiny just does it for me 😂 so I’ll be taking notes of all this equipment and doing it myself.

    Do you tumble your brass again after re sizing to remove the lube? or do you just leave the lube from Full Length Re sizing on the brass?

    • @rileyh4169
      @rileyh4169 2 роки тому +1

      You shouldn't need to tumble again if you're using a reasonable amount of lube. If anything, the extra slip will help with rfeeding

      Overnight versus two hours also don’t have that nonsense in the cases. Also don’t have that powder film all over everything. I’ve used both methods and this is the only way to get brass completely clean

    • @darrensaltiel440
      @darrensaltiel440 4 роки тому

      Also brass polish contains ammonium/ammonia. Which eats the zinc out of the brass weakening it over time . Anything exploding that close to my face I'd make sure my brass is not losing any crucial metals that keep it together 🤷‍♂️

    Must be a very low grade of stainless if you can collect it with a magnet!
    If that's the case Any other hard metal pieces would work.

    • @rickf3648
      @rickf3648 3 роки тому +1

      Actually the 400 series of stainless is magnetic. Still carries the corrosion resistance with a higher (11%) Chromium and steel, which makes it slightly magnetic.
