I didn’t have the comics either, my GI Joe world was the cartoon. I remember coming off the school bus and running inside to watch before I did my chores.
Those were good times. Me and a couple of friends would get together on the weekends and combine some of our joes. We'd also borrow figure for figure. That's how I acquired my v2 Snake Eyes. Me and a friend swapped Snake Eyes and Zartan for a weekend. He "lost" my Zartan so I kept his Snake Eyes. It worked for me because I could never find Snake Eyes in the stores. I later bought Zartan again, so it was a win win in the end.
I was the exact sameway when it comes to consuming G.I. Joe, The comics were not my thing. That changed in my adulthood, now I read them old, new, and certain runs. However, I commented because you forgot the most important way to discover new Joes, that was through the Christmas catalogs. I also would come home with Joes that where not mine, and sometime's I would lose mine too, but I always tried to steal at least one guy I didn't have, either at friends or as a 8 year old from a department store, who thinks a 8 year will steal I DID!!!!. LOL!!!!
I feel like the action figure file cards were by far the best info/insight on any given character.
@@Astro319 yes for sure!
