    I am sorry to say that for me as a German, it feels embarrassing that the platinum jubilee of the queen of a nation that has produced composers such as (to name but a few) John Dowland, Henry Purcell, Thomas Arne, Edward Elgar, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Benjamin Britten (not to mention its poets) should be celebrated with this kind of (obviously well-intentioned) hand-knitted dilettantism.
