Hey everyone! Welcome to a new series on the Channel! Hollow Knight will continue, don't worry 😊 A little heads-up, because I think people will notice this and maybe it will even bug people haha: I didn't realise that I could save as often as I could until editing! Don't worry, I have caught on now! Having a backseat viewer perspective helps a lot. I've been craving to play the game again but I wanted to get this video up first incase there were any issues or anything major I was missing. I have no idea why my PC struggled and I apologise for the dropped frames, hoping that will be resolved in the next part but we will see 😀 Have fun everyone, thanks for the support!
Playing along with u homie lesgetit! PS re: frame stutter I've noticed on my nvidia gpu/gsync on that without vsync, the frame pacing suffers considerably. Enable in-game vsync to reduce frametime by 10ms and improve stability. Additional settings to address stutter - in nvidia control panel > manage 3d settings > program settings > oride.exe (may have to add) > - Low latency mode : off - Power Management Mode: Optimal or Prefer Max Performance - Triple Buffering: On - VR Pre-rendered frames: 2 or 3 Click Apply at bottom > hopefully profit! Also try disable game mode AND hardware accelerated GPU scheduling in windows settings (game mode settings and graphics settings respectively).
The sequal to Hollow Knight, which is called Hollow Knight: Silksong is gonna be released within the next 11 months. Are you gonna play it when it releases? You play as Hornet and it looks like it'll be even more fleshed out than Hollow Knight.
The 2 Ori games are not really just games. They are just simply works of art. 2 of the best games I have ever played. Turn up the volume and play on a big screen in 120hz. Stunning.
Seeing this video pop up pushed me to finally buy the game and play through it myself. I'm hoping to stay far enough ahead to watch your playthrough spoiler-free. So far, this game feels very much like the opposite end of the Metroidvania-spectrum from Hollow Knight - Hollow Knight tends to emphasize combat while Ori emphasizes platforming and movement.
The first Ori has much more simplified combat, as you basically attack with those little homing strikes. The second game has a different (and more traditional) approach to combat, that's why I enjoyed the second one much more
HOOORAAAAAY!!! I went straight from Hollow Knight to Ori, after being completely blown away by HK, and needing another metronidvania hit. It’s quite different, but an ABSOLUTE JOY to play. It will be really interesting for you to see how HK influenced the next Ori game in the series, which is even better than this one.
And let me just add that you are THE BEST playthrough-er on UA-cam that I’ve watched. You have none of the arrogance that many of the other gamers have, and watching you experience genuine joy, rage, and excitement as you play is a total pleasure. And I’m sorry if I made you feel bad about Gathering Swarm …
Hk didn't influence will of the wisps that much, the charm system was in the works (conceptually) during the development of blind forest. It just didn't really work for that game so they shelved it until the sequel. The main inspiration for the charms is actually from paper mario, which hk also got inspiration from i believe. The other area people say it took inspiration from is deepnest with mouldwood depths, i also disagree on this front. Not only are darkness levels a pretty general concept (hk wasn't the first to do this) i'd also say it's quite different. Deepnest's darkness doesn't kill you, it just makes you not see anything (which most likely kills you). In ori it outright kills you so you follow the little lights until you get the power to (temporarely as it costs mana) light up the area yourself. Once you've beaten the boss the area isn't shrouded in darkness anymore. As for both being insect themed, that's a coincedence as it fits differently in the narative for both games, but both work very well. It could be inspired but it's different enough in my opinion to be considered a different and seperate take on a darkness level. As for who did it better that's up to personal opinion but to me mouldwood depths was vastly superior. Boss fights are also pretty different between both games as well as being a common concept in (2D) games so no inspiration drawn there. The only aspect i'd say that did inspire WotW is the purchasable maps, but again this works differently in both games. To conclude i'm not saying that wotw didn't take inspiration from HK but i think people are overexagerating when they say that, especially those annoying fanboys that say it copied HK (they say that about so many games). If in silksong there's chase sequences or time trails i wouldn't say HK copied or was inspired by ori either, it's just two games taking concepts and executing it very well. The fans need to stop accusing other games of copying them, only in extreme cases like gleamlight you could say that it ripped off hk. Anyways i like Hk and i LOVE ori so seeing ori get bashed by hk fans all the time does make me kinda angry. Blind forest was first and wotw had many concepts in the works around 2016.
Welcome to Ori and the Angry Bird. Keep the tissues close, save frequently and enjoy your stay! It's an absolute marvel what this game has in terms of visual and audio design. Detailed and sprawling and buttery smooth animations, wonderful music and they use lighting very, very well (which is quite appropriate, I reckon).
I have never seen this game before (so I’m just as lost as you are) but the art is fantastic! Looking forward to something new but HK still has a few surprises for you yet...
YO WHAT I'm about to finish this game for the first time, what a perfect timing. Your content is such a treat, I'm so happy every time I see a new video.
loved to see you picked this game! The first Ori game is quite different than hollow knight (contrary to the second), but awesome as well, the story here is A+. One of the things I really like about Ori is how agile you feel, and how you become more and more as time goes on. One thing that was really hard for me to watch is how sometimes you died and went back a lot😅 the game provides you with enough energy to save very frequently, so definitely don't be afraid to use it (even more now that it can heal you a bit for the cost of one energy). Hope you'd have a great time with Ori!
Oh my, I’m SO excited to watch this series ❤ Ori is one of my favorite saga and I love your gameplays so this will be another series to look for in my week. I really hope you enjoy it, the music and the art are amazing and I think you’ll love them!
Ori has a special place in my heart because it was recommended to me by my wife when she'd heard about it on a podcast. I kinda scoffed when I first watch a trailer for it but finally playing through it is what started my love of Metroidvanias.
Damn...the first 5 notes of the song in the very beginning of the cinematic made me instantly remember my first time playing this game I cried now, just as well as that time...such a great game To answer a few of your questions: 1. Yes, Ori is the white character 2. Yes, the narrator is the tree, who's lost his child/ hope/ leaf of the tree of life (Ori) 3. Without Ori, the tree has no power to mentain the forest healthy, and on it's final moments tried to summon Ori back as a last chance to heal, but Ori's mom thought the tree's light is dangerous and sheltered Ori out of love, and unwillingly destroying the forest. Why she throught the light is dangerous is a spoiler, so you'll discover that for yourself :)
On point 3, while the night the tree called for Ori was a critical moment, that was the tree calling for its lost child, not a final moment - or it wouldn't have been had it not been for the owl who, for reasons, got angry and plucked the light of the spirit tree, which is what doomed the forest - without Sein, the tree could no longer serve the forest and decay set in (it might have been in a slow decline before that - it's not entirely clear). Once Sein, the eyes of the forest, was cast out, the Blind Forest decayed to the current state. With Naru's death, Ori set out, collapsed and the tree used the remnants of its power to revive Ori in hopes that Ori could restore Sein and so the forest. It's the loss of Sein that was the disaster, not the loss of Ori.
Ohhhhh Amber you're in for a riiiiide! From the art to the fluid movements of Ori, this game is a piece of art. I can't wait till you finish it and move to the sequel haha
The graphics and art caught my eye with this game. I’m new to platformers and ended up buying this game after watching 40 minutes of this video. It’s challenging for me but I love it.
The gasp I let out when you uploaded this, aaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Enjoy this fresh new playthrough, because we sure will :) *you're doing amazing, sweetie gif*
If there was one piece of general advice for this game that I'd want to give you, it is: Save often. Creating a soul link only costs one of your little blue cabbages for which there are a lot of ways to replenish them plus a small cooldown between uses that is purely time based. Because the game only ever saves your progress when using a soul link, on death everything not manually saved is lost and has to be done again, all cutscenes have to be rewatched again and so on. And as you'll have noticed, Ori is quite fragile so deaths happen often. But if you save frequently they aren't really punishing at all. And relating to that, you don't need to break these small blue shards that refill your energy if it is already full. Better save them for later. Or create a soul link right then and there and destroy the shard after that so it wasn't wasted. I'm really happy you decided to play this game. It's not quite as long as Hollow Knight (in which there's also quite a few things left to do) so I hope you like it enough to play the sequel too!
This game and the next are two of my very favorites. I highly recommend both. The gameplay is decent enough, but the visuals and music are absolutely outstanding. I have the sunny home screen as my desktop background, and the rainy scene right after you start a new game is my lock screen, and I have never found anything I prefer, even in playing games like hollow knight or specifically browsing for wallpapers. These games are beautiful.
I first discovered your channel with your Bloodborne playthrough (one of my favorite games of all time) and I've been hooked ever since. I'm always really impressed by quickly you figure out and pick up new games. You never fail to put a smile on my face or make me laugh. Keep up the great work! :)
Hi! I loved your Hollow Knight series, and I'm happy to watch you discover Ori. Both games are masterpieces in their own right, and I'm sure you'll have tons of fun with it. And yes, the tree is your dad. Kinda.
This is an amazing game, glad you’re enjoying it! Playing Hollow Knight and then Ori? You are now my favorite UA-camr. Your videos are very calm and relaxing, and please give yourself more credit on your gaming skills! You are doing so much better than I was in both Hollow Knight and Ori!
Oh my god I'm SO EXCITED FOR YOU TO PLAY THIS!! This was the first video game that I truly fell in love with and remains one of my favourites of all time. I've loooved your playthrough of Hollow Knight and have also been wanting to re-play Ori recently but don't currently have a computer to play it on, so this will hopefully scratch that itch for now!
Ahhhh! Just finishing your TLOU2 playthough right now and you start uploadinmg one of my other all-time favourite games! Fun fact: this studio worked all remote even before covid, including on this game - it was made in those conditions Fun fact #2: the composer (Gareth Coker) is not only stunning at his job as you can hear here, he's really chill! I've looked up many a cover of Ori music on youtube in my time and he's often in the comments praising them for their playing and interpretation Hope you love this game as much as I do, it's a beautiful experience, great to see you're playing it : )
seeing this video uploaded finally gave me the motivation to go back into the game after having ragequit a few months ago after dying like… i don’t even know how many times lol.. but now i’ll be keeping in front of you.. i love seeing your playthrough!
Yay! The Ori games are my comfort games, second only to Hollow Knight. I've played them both through 3 times I think? And they just keep being wonderful
So excited to see what you think of this game! I absolutely love both Ori games! (Ori and the Blind Forest & Ori and the Will of the Wisps) The art style is beautiful, the music is stunning, and the game play is fun and challenging, without being too difficult. The only real negative I could find is how short these games are. I 100% completed them in less than 24 hours of playtime for each game. The second Ori game did take a few ideas from Hollow Knight, but it is still very different. Both Ori games have that underlying sense of melancholy and a world on the brink of despair. Ori has to bring light and life back into the world!
So excited to see you playing Ori! Both of these games are fantastic, I really hope you play the second one as well. Hands-down the most beautiful games I've ever seen, and very fun to play.
YES! Amber is playing Ori and the Blind Forest! If there was one game (well, series of games) I wanted to you, of all people, play, it was this one. And I gotta say, you didn't crack during the prologue, thought I did see your eyes get a bit... misty. After the dark tragedy that is Hollow Knight, you play this piece of beauty. If you are not already, you are seriously going to love this game and its sequel. I'm now a fan of your Metroidvania playthroughs. Go, Amber! And may your eyes feast on the wonder and beauty of Nibel!
I love Ori and am happy to see you play it. Somehow HK never clicked with me but I had great fun with Ori despite dying nearly 1000 times. So when you say you're not very good with platformers, remember there's always me.
So excited you decided to play this! This is one of my favorite games and you'll definitely want to play Ori and the Will of the Wisps afterward. Both tell an incredible story and the games have visuals, music and gameplay to match. It is something special for sure!
Second comment after I finished the video: maybe you already noticed, but just in case, when you die the game is reloaded from the last save point and you lost all the progress you did (and everything you got is lost too, it’s different from HK). So don’t be scared to save A LOT! Also, I checked the map often to see what areas I may have missed. I must say that you’re really good with Ori too! And I’m so glad you liked it, it’s a very emocional game ❤
Am I the only one who loves first Ori more than the second? Switching abilities from the menu in WotW just made me tired all the time. Of course, it's bigger, has better visuals, contains side quests and f-ing epic boss fights, but... First Ori is compact, but complex, always keeps its flow and it is absolute joy to play
I've never heard of this game but after watching this I just got it and I love it! I love hollow knight and pretty much all metroidvanias too. Thank you Amber! See ya on the next one!
YES YES YES THANK YOU! I WISHED FOR THIS SERIES SO MUCH! Also pleeeease play the second one after this one, it's 100% the best one (but needs this one for context ahah)!
No time to watch this now but just wanted to post how excited I am for this one. Wonderful game, with one of the best intros in media. Up there with Up as a heart rending opening salvo. Will be back x
Wow what a nice surprise to see you play this game so soon! I first played this game when Will of the Wisps came out and played both games back to back, I really enjoyed them and I'm sure you will too!
I can't wait for part 2. It's got my favorite ability! Also, one thing to be aware of. This seems to be the definitive edition. In it, they added a new ability past the dark area, and more importantly the upgrade to the ability. This ability is a huge quality of life improvement, but it also breaks some of the puzzles which can be confusing. It means you can cheese-past some vital tutorials, especially in the second temple.
I'm so happy seing you playing this, it's my second favorite of all time (the first being the sequel). And the fact you're the second personne on youtube to call life cell "cabage" is hilarious :')
You just keep surprising! When I first saw your Hollow Knight playthrough I was so excited to watch and it has been a pleasure so far. I hope you like this game also, it is incredibly beautiful.
Aaahh, I'm so excited for this playthrough! You're gonna love this game. The gameplay is absolutely gratifying, the visuals are truly stunning, the soundtrack is beyond beautiful and the story is incredibly touching. And the second game is even better in almost every way, you're in for a treat! Can't wait to watch you play this and hear your thoughts on everything
The two Ori games are part of my favorite video games. The second Game is even better than the first. My highly recommended tip: keep saving the game every once in a while - yu gain a lot of energy and you can use it to save and heal ;)
Yes! Ori and the Blind Forest is one of my favorite games of all time. Enjoy this masterpiece. I have played through the game many times and I still tear up at the beginning. Plattforming/agility is fantastic (I prefer it to Hollow Knight’s). You said it in your pinned comment: Save often. I made the habbit of saving every time I see a blue crystal and then pick up the blue crystal. I am so happy to see you play the game.
Aww man I can't believe I'm going camping for a week starting Sunday. Now I'll miss the next part until I get back! :( but I'm happy you decided to try this game, and now I have something to look forward to when I get back! :D
Thank you for the awesome playthroughs. It was a great ride! I got respect for you that you went for your dream and got it. It is highly admirable. It inspired me to be better at my art. I’m forward to your work in fable. I sincerely wish you the best!
Oh snap! How did I miss this?! This is one of my favorite game pairs and you played it! *starts watching* "Oh look at my belly jiggle!" I know, right?! I loved bear-mom's animation!
Yes! I loved the hollow knight playthrough, one of my favourite games! and I recently picked up this game and it's been really fun so far, looking forward to this
Glad you’ve started this game. It’s a wonderful pair to Hollow Knight, as the games are simultaneously very similar to each other, and quite different. I know you’re gonna love this.
So excited to see you play this game! This one and the follow up are some of my favorite games of all time (I just played through them for the first time last year). I hope you enjoy it just as much! My general recommendation is to take your time and don't worry if you feel a bit like you're backtracking/going in circles, there's lots of secrets to find around the map as you gain new abilities :)
This is probably one of my favorite game series up there with Hollow Knight! The great news is that the sequel is even better and you'll be able to go straight into it after you complete this one! Also, you can really never save too often. The energy resources are always going to be placed at convenient locations where energy abilities are needed.
Absolutely great choice of game, you are doing perfectly fine, my tip would be to read all the paths of abilities so you could decide what you would like next :)
I fell in love with this game when it was new. One of the very few games I've attempted to get all the achievements in. Never managed to beat the whole game without dying.
Difficult Hollow Knight bosses: Ah crap. we're screwed. Symbalily is on her way. Ori Platforming: Don't worry, I've got this. Jokes aside, I've been loving your Hollow Knight playthrough and seeing this start up really made my day! Two of my favorite games in a row? Most excellent! Looking forward to seeing how this goes.
As a heads-up, this is a decent game but the sequel is massively better in every way. Since both are quite short, I recommend playing Will of the Wisp soon if you enjoy this one.
@@lorettabes4553 they did even a better map design but they listen too much to people who say the platforming was tricky and difficult and they lower the platforming difficulty which I didnt like at sll still the game is better thsn BF but not for so much.
Thrilled to see you playing this game...the Ori games are on my top 5 list of favorites they truly are works of art! I have been and still am enjoying the Hollow knight playthrough and this is the icing on the cake I get to watch Ori now too!!!
Watching you play this inspired me to pick up this game again. I've never played past the beginning before, but I'm glad I did this time! There's TONS to do in this game, and everything I encounter is visually stunning. Looking forward to watching you play! Seems like a great compliment to your Hollow Knight series. (Also, I like your intro phrase "let's just play." I've come to expect it with each video, and it makes me smile when I hear it lol)
If you find yourself struggling with any kind of jump/move, do not be afraid to go back and redoing it over and over again until you can nail it every time. I feel that the game does want to give you the practice you need as you progress, but it's not always enough.
Hey everyone! Welcome to a new series on the Channel! Hollow Knight will continue, don't worry 😊
A little heads-up, because I think people will notice this and maybe it will even bug people haha: I didn't realise that I could save as often as I could until editing! Don't worry, I have caught on now! Having a backseat viewer perspective helps a lot.

Have fun everyone, thanks for the support!
Oh thank god! For a second there I was worried you were done with Hollow Knight!
I was worried you were done with hollow knight, glad I saw this comment.
I was hoping you'd be playing this game someday after Hollow knight, what a wonderful surprise 😁
Playing along with u homie lesgetit!
PS re: frame stutter

Also playing ori bf rn... Beautiful and awesome. Movement is perfect. Will also play WoW as combat looks way better.
Yeah movement is where Ori really nails it. I've played only a few games that were as satisfying to control as Ori

I always wanted to play these games but unfortunately I only own a PlayStation.
You're in for a treat. Hollow Knight is amazing but this is my favorite metroidvania
Yeah! Definitely ready for this. Glad you decided to play it. One of my favorites.
The beginning reminds me of „Grave of Fireflies“, with the flashbacks.
What a treat! So glad you picked this game from your poll options. Can't wait to watch!

OMG you started Ori. I love the 2 games so much. The music and atmosphere are superb!
Oh, this is so exciting!! I'm excited to go on this journey with you and enjoy Ori for the first time, too!
OMG YES, 2 of the best metroidvania games back to back lets go!
The visual art, the soundtrack, the beauty of the story... immediately makes me tear up every damn time
Prob one of the most gorgeous games I've ever played, still sticks with me to this day
I first discovered your channel with your Bloodborne playthrough (one of my favorite games of all time) and I've been hooked ever since.
In a very short time you have become one of my favorite UA-camrs and Seraing you play this game fills me with such joy
Excited for this new series. Hope you have an amazing time with this one as well!
Fun fact: this studio worked all remote even before covid, including on this game - it was made in those conditions
Fun fact #2: the composer (Gareth Coker) is not only stunning at his job as you can hear here, he's really chill! I've looked up many a cover of Ori music on youtube in my time and he's often in the comments praising them for their playing and interpretation
Hope you love this game as much as I do, it's a beautiful experience, great to see you're playing it : )
Glad to hear the Hollow Knight series isn’t done yet! Curious to see how your Ori adventure goes too!
That intro... is like the beginning of Up. If just kicks you in the feels's balls and kicks you when you are down, in the first 10 minutes flat.
seeing this video uploaded finally gave me the motivation to go back into the game after having ragequit a few months ago after dying like… i don’t even know how many times lol.. but now i’ll be keeping in front of you.. i love seeing your playthrough!
WOOOO!!!!! I'm so excited to watch you play through this! You're gonna LOVE IT!
Omg yes! I love it when I see people still playing this game! Ori is my most favorite game of all time and I hope you really enjoy it!!! 😁👍
I absolutely love this game. The music and art especially well done. The gameplay is fire.
I've heard of this game but never seen it. Good lord that's some beautiful animation and art style!
Wooooo!!! Another metroidvania!! Yes, fantastic choice too. Very excited for a new series.
The two Ori games are part of my favorite video games. The second Game is even better than the first. My highly recommended tip: keep saving the game every once in a while - yu gain a lot of energy and you can use it to save and heal ;)
This was super fun to watch! It brought back so much nostalgia, but watching you play it was funn! Can't wait to watch the rest :>>
*starts watching*
"Oh look at my belly jiggle!" I know, right?! I loved bear-mom's animation!
Yes! I loved the hollow knight playthrough, one of my favourite games! and I recently picked up this game and it's been really fun so far, looking forward to this
After playing this gem you should definitely play shadow of the colossus, that game will surely give you another shocking experience to enjoy.
sotc is a masterpiece too. Great game aswell.
Glad you’ve started this game. It’s a wonderful pair to Hollow Knight, as the games are simultaneously very similar to each other, and quite different. I know you’re gonna love this.
SCREAMS
These are literally my favorite games ever
SO excited you started this playthrough, it was the ori series that led me to hollow knight as well.
I just had to comment about your voice. I love your accent and voice. It's very comforting. This was a great gameplay. Thank you for the video.
You are very humble Amber. I have watched your Hollow Knight vids, you are very good at platformers. Almost instinctual, always fun to watch.
Well this such a *treat*, Amber. I love that you decided to play Ori and I am incredibly excited for the journey!
I m so happy you are doing a ori and the blind forest playtrouch 🥰🥰🥰
Its my favorite game in all time !
Thank you 😊
Yesss I just finished blind forest and I enjoyed it soo much! Hope you have fun!
Great to see you getting around to Ori. I watched your Hollow Knight vids regularly so can’t wait to see how you get along with this gem!
As a heads-up, this is a decent game but the sequel is massively better in every way. Since both are quite short, I recommend playing Will of the Wisp soon if you enjoy this one.
@Arte Floe The first Ori definitely has a feeling or a vibe that the sequel has less because they innovated. Interesting paradox, sort of?
How far are you if I may ask?
@@lorettabes4553 I just reached the warp point in the Forlorn Ruins!
Yesss I literally haven't played it yet just to watch this playthrough. I'm so excited!
This video inspired me to get the game, and I'm really enjoying it so far
Very excited to see you play through this! It's a game I've always been interested in but put off because of limited time. Hope you enjoy!
i've watched your hollow knight playtrough, but if you continue to play all those awesome games you've got yourself a long lasting sub.
If you find yourself struggling with any kind of jump/move, do not be afraid to go back and redoing it over and over again until you can nail it every time. I feel that the game does want to give you the practice you need as you progress, but it's not always enough.
OMG I'M SO GLAD YOU BEGAN AN ORI PLAY THROUGH, OR NO MATTER HOW IT CALLED, THANKS GOD YOU NOTICED THIS GAME!!!
I adore this game, you got a new subscriber and I can't wait to see more episodes of this breathtaking game
I love the music in this game.
37:47 "I jumped!"...Press X to doubt.
Yessssss! I had to miss out on the Hollow Knight videos because I haven't played that yet, so I'm happy to get to watch this!
Oh my god, another banger of a series? I love this channel! The perfect game to follow up Hollow Knight
