@@JoseOrtiz-pp1vm what you would do is plug your Pi into the TV...and use the Gamer Mini as controller via Bluetooth or USB into the Pi. There is no need to use the Core/Puck for this.
Good Job PDubs! This is an awesome option for someone to get into the Legend Arcade Family. I mean the core by itself is $50 but for an extra 50 you get an awesome arcade controller too
Just placed my order at Walmart for $52, all in. Is it just me or is this the absolute best bang for Buck in gaming: A near arcade quality controller compatible with everything AND includes a streaming console for less than the price of a current gen controller??
It arrived yesterday and I've only played with it a little, but although I'm slightly underwhelmed by the included game selection and found it a bit fiddly at times, I really like the quality of the control deck and it looks like it could just drop right into any standard A1U cabinet. I got it thinking it might let me add a multi-cade to my home arcade, but now I'm thinking it may end up as part of a PC gaming setup. 🤔
This is awesome. This is the perfect way to enter the AT games/legends ecosystem. This is an awesome retro console/arcade stick combination. I would love to have 2 of these for fighting game tournaments. Playing all those cps2 and 3 and neo geo games. Also being Bluetooth compatible is great.
True story and yes you can link multiple of these devices to the same gamer core for multiplayer fun and each have your own mini control deck in front of you.
@@rickybeard yes. You would need to pair it to the puck as player 3 and player 4. If you wanted to connect wired then you would need a usb 3.0 hub to connect both gamerpro’s to the single USB port on the puck. Then you would need to have the proper 4p UCE rom files that you want to play also mounted via the flash drive x if you are using CoinopsX. Most of the games on the CoinopsX SaUCE build are using the 2p roms.
I got one on E-Bay for 58 bucks and the guy said it is tested and works and that he is selling it because he recently picked up the At Games ultimate cabinet. Should arrive by 4/9/22.
Good stuff again PDubs.. Atgames is sorta reminding me of Samsung a couple decades ago. People would laugh if you bought one of their TVs years back.. Not a company known for quality. But slowly they turned it around and now they're one of the top brands in all of electronics. Seems like Atgames is perhaps turning the tide as well.
Hi Patrick thank you for your content. Do you know if the mini gamer can stay in portrait mode? I was thinking of placing one in one of my 1up cabinets with a vertical monitor. Thanks!
PDubs thank you for reviewing this. Just wondering do you think this would fit the pinball that atgames is offering. I know they have their own dedicated control panel but I think 200 for a control panel is a little bit pricey. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing the info. Do you have a recommendation for a stick/button control deck for either a windows pc or a raspberry pi? Looks like this device connects to only the legends system.
Actually.....you can plug this into your PC and use it as an arcade stick! Or, Bluetooth it to your computer and do the same. I'll have a video for this soon.
Mine worked but after I connected it to my computer it stopped connecting to core. It still works with my pc but does not even work with core even if using the usb cables.
Hi sir i have a question. If bougth this used second hand and I use with other account i may have issue with Coin op and all software or not is trouble?
@@PDubsArcadeLoft what about separately? Like one of those self contained trackballs for pc? I ask becouse this came with several games that require the trackball and I was confused on the including them unless there was a way to hook up a ball somehow
I just got this for my kids for Christmas. I got it all paired up and installed. I got them playing the first game, but we can't figure out how to get out of that game and back to the game menu. Can someone please help?
I like this system and I am impressed that allegedly the console can be adjusted for games to be presented on screen in a horizontal fashion with the monitor/HDTV tilted at a 90-degree horizontal position. I can verify that I enjoy my "Pandoras Boxes" which are great IMO, yet playing Mr, or Mrs. Pac-Man has a display of a stretched out from left to right screen and perhaps it's adjustable, but not to be displayed horizontally (to my knowledge). I personally dropped about $110 on a Raspberry PI 400 a week ago and look forward to using it whenever it arrives. I received my Retroid Pocket 2 four days ago after ordering it on September 9, 2020. SMH. I speculate that that's thx to Covid. Does anyone know where I can purchase an HDTV wall mount that also lets me rotate the HDTV at a 90-degree angle quickly and safely? Great video. Peace.
Yes, you can run games in portrait mode off the legends gamer series of products and can also adjust the aspect ratio even further when in portrait mode to suit your taste. Great for pinball and vertical arcade games.
I love my mini also for the size but I wish they had a trackball like it’s big brother and if he wanted you can get a mclassic if you didn’t want a stretched out display for the Pandora’s. Love the review anyway Pdubs
@@alevcimen4891 I agree regarding the trackball. For games such as Millipede and Centipede, trackball is ideal. I enjoy these games and can imagine other games that would benefit the player should they have that option of the trackball. Peace!
They have not announced it yet - you can make reservations and when the product is available they will provide you the shipping price I wouldn't expect it to be anything crazy.
After AtGames firmware screw-ups and their obsession with forcing on line, even if your own games or CoinOps 5, not seeing any practical reason to buy games from them and VERY glad I linked all my pinball games to my Legends pinball cab, rather than depend on AtGames.. Also never updated my pinball cab firmware after 4.5 (their first epic screw up). It plays great and no on-line dependency except for CoionOps 5. Sad the light-gun never panned out. That is not a good sign, BTW. Why not release when able, unless ramping down??
Link in the video description for my prior review on the legends gamer pro, check out that video I dive into all the features included on the "core" hickey Puck
They sent a few review units out, lucky I got one. Very nice of them. Yes they are trying to get the products here and to all of us. Going to be a tough holiday season for all these companies.
