This ball looks great for my style lefty throwing the typical Parker Bohn III line. Thanks BrunsNick for helping confirm my observations. Plus it's self appeal looks fantastic.
@@jeramiescott3364 they certainly have had a good few years. I threw the hater and didn’t necessarily love that piece but the trouble makers were crazy good. Then verges we’re all good. They are growing
I agree about the track record. But I bought the Archetype hybrid and man this ball handles everything even sport patterns. I think it’s better than my DV8 ball
This is possibly the most instructional review video possible. Up until recently i only had 1 ball and i used to struggle a lot if i moved further left than 20. People used to tell me i should be able to throw it either way. But i found myself having to lower my speed too much. Being a speed dominant player, this just wasnt comfortable. This video is very important because it shows that you have to match your style of play well with your ball, and have realistic expectations of what it can do. Thanks for the video, Nick!
I love your reviews .. always excellent. I learn a lot, not just about the ball you are reviewing but about the game in general. Thanks BrunsNick for another great video!
3:54 dang Nick nice shot’ bud. 6:20 wow Nick, it makes sense what your saying. That was the 3rd board and I see this ball 3rd board and left of it this ball moves and crushes the rack
Just came across your channel recently. Thanks for the vid! Saw this ball and honestly have been curious about it. Havent thrown track in years since my Track Legion solid cracked but loved that ball and recently been looking at returning to the track line. Good info with this vid and this Cipher. (Balanced revs & speed bowler here on the slightly higher side for both)
I'm ordering this ball from my pso immediately. It's as close to the CZ Arc as I've seen. I bowled real good with the 2.568 rg and .047 diff I bowled WELL with those numbers. Great Job, Nick. Don't let that go to your head😂😂😂
This ball is reminding me a bit of the RG Wild Streak. Similar core numbers in 14lbs. Seemingly similar intent with the solid covers. As a rev dominant 2 hander, I loved that ball. Had a short pin layout on it and it blended out THS beautifully. Going to do the same here. Possibly (likely) shine it up. I foresee this being even better than that ball with HK22 and dynamicore. Didn't even know about this until a few days ago and now it's my most anticipated release.
@@TehWin3 I watched it yesterday. Part of the reason I came to that conclusion. Also, I tend to do better with polish (the CTD by hand) on most of my stuff. Even have it on my MCP Tanks.
I love your videos Nick with one caveat. When describing the ball, not all of us understand the proprietary jargon relative to that ball. I would appreciate if early on you'd tell us if the ball is symetrical or asymmetrical. Asym's don't agree with me, so I can decide early on in the review if it's worth my looking into. The same applies with written reviews and descriptions. Otherwise love your work, Much Thanks!

I’m getting back into bowling after 18 years. I bought a Rhino solid magenta. I have been impressed with it so far once the lanes start drying out. Tonight was my 4th league night back. Rolled a 246 my last game. All pocket hits. Each week I have gotten better. Would this be a good next ball or should I just add some surface to my Rhino? Would love if you reviewed the Rhino solid magenta!
The core of the Cypher reminds me of the old Critical Mass Code Red. The reaction reminds me of the Columbia 300 Purple Quake solid from 1995. I'll explain. From outside, the ball hit like a freight train. As soon as you would move inside, simply put, DOA. On the right condition, the Cypher looks to be a ball that has a controlled arc.
I pray when they make the pearl version, its green pearl just like the synergy! It was my all time favorite ball! I was still rolling it in 2011 till it finally cracked which was a sad day
So I obviously watch all of your videos and trust your instincts. I’m thinking my next purchase would probably be the Hammer Effect. Would I have any regrets? Thanks 🙏
Love your reviews Nick, especially since my speed, positioning, revs, etc. seem so similar to yours. Have a question regarding this ball vs a couple others My 7 ball league/tourney bag is currently looking this like: SYM ASYM ??? ??? Sensor Solid Trail Blazer Solid Deadly Rattler Short Pin TB solid Blue NU (demo drilling, share with a lefty friend) My typical drilling was 65 x 4 x 35 on these pieces, though I need to recheck my pap after a release change a month ago which moved my track 2" off the thumb instead of almost touching the thumb On the Sym side, I presume I need a bigger, heavy oil piece so I can play the same part of the lane when the SS isn't strong enough (i try to start in your first 2 zones to figure out the lane that day). I was thinking of the Big Time SE. Then this comes out, and I've liked the SS soooo much I wonder if this would be effective. Then I was doing extra research, found your 2023 Nationals arsenal. You have me thinking of the DV8 Chill and Hammer Dark Web Hybrid after seeing that video. I'm thinking the Chill would be the best option for my collection, would you concur, or have another suggestion? As a 3rd Asym, I'm thinking shiny ball, ala the Effect, Outer Limits Pearl, or BW 2.0 Hybrid. I do have a soft spot for Radical, so I'm less versed in the other brands. And I've never thrown a BW ball to have any idea if I like the core shape for me. So if you might be able to offer your suggestion for those last 2 pieces, if you had only the pieces I have now, which would you pick to maximize your versatility? Lastly, I wonder why you use 4" pins on weak cores, 4.5" on syms, and 5" on Asyms, generally. Perhaps that could be a video topic soon?
You have the right idea, Chill/Cypher will all be in the same range of motion. If you're into Radical and you want a shiny flip ball, Outer Limits Pearl is very good. A bit cleaner than the rest listed. And I did do a video on my pin positions in a recent video about Common Bowling Questions. 5" has been my sweet spot for asyms, 4.5 on symmetricals because they are usually a little less dynamic after drilling and 4" on Thick Shell balls because the diffs are so low and I want that core to tumble a little more and max flare.
Could you compare the stealth, sensor solid and cypher together? Can definitely tell the difference between sensor solid and cypher in reference to RG. Cypher for sure doesn't pick up as early. I need it! Lol
Hi nick, great review as always! Wondering how similar this is to the motiv pride? I usually start league off with that and sometimes it doesn’t have enough kick, would this be a ball up? If not, what others would you suggest? Thanks!

I wish the next old school ball they bring back is the critical mass series. The normal critical mass and the code red critical mass. Same core but with the same ish cover.
I'm relatively new at bowling. So forgive me for my ignorance, but when you add surface to a bowling ball, are you rubbing off the HK22 and related additives?
No... surface grit is simply a measure of how rough (dull) or smooth (shiny) the ball is. In very general terms the lower the grit, the sooner the ball will begin to hook, and the less back end reaction you'll see.
User qd... think of it this way. Duller balls act like snow chains helping it handle more oil. Shinier balls act like racing slicks and respond to friction more
Hi Nick, I bowled another 700 yesterday. That’s 2 in the last 3-4 weeks. But my thumb tendon becomes sore, with a bit of lump and swelling. Have you experienced this and do you have any thoughts on cause and remedy? Power stroker style.
Am I wrong in thinking that the cypher in its out of box surface might be a great ball for Nationals because it could be one that you could use to continue try keep your line in front of you. Maybe keep a ball you can use to try to stay closer to the same area you’ve been playing once the lanes start breaking down. What do you think BrunsNick?
I'm going to have to disagree with you on the stronger than the sensor solid. I have a sensor, and looks way stronger than the Cypher. This looks like a sport shot monster
I'm preparing for nationals and play straight. I love the sensor solid but sometimes it loses too much in the mid lane. I was looking to get both the dark web hybrid and cypher, but I really couldn't tell that much of a difference. So would you say the cypher would better compliment to the sensor solid vs the dark web hybrid.
Love the honest reviews. Brunsnick doesn't over sell the gear. Just honest straightforward analysis.
Some stuff just won’t work well for me unless I make some drastic adjustments. Or I can just play it straighter like it preferred.
