- In a busy street she was walking alone. She looked dirty and tired. We don't take the kittens immediately when we first meet them because she might have a mom around who is taking care of. So we waited for mom long hours. During this time kitten fell asleep on our laps. Mom wasn't around. People around don't know this kitten. We decided she was abandoned. We can't leave her there because there are cars running in the street. We took her home. Clean her face and gave her food. She ate tuna fish cat food and fell asleep, a deep sleep. She stayed with us few nights and became healthy. She started crying, didn't want to stay at home. So we took her to cat house where people look after stray cats. She met her new friends. Kitten did exactly what her Mama told her to do. "You go sit over there nice and cute and some kindhearted humans will come along and take care of you."
I think we do underestimate animal's intelligence. I mean, what if it actually was like this? What if this kitten's mom abandoned him because she herself was an abandoned cat, and she knew that humans could be able to give a good life to his son when she couldn't?

When I found a kitten, I took her to a vet, and had her looked at. Once I knew she was okay, but needed shots and the usual for a wild kitten, I had those done, than took her home. She lived a very long life, and was so sweet. She is missed.

I'd pick her up & go to the animal shelter. There are too many stray cats.
Sometimes it's not a good idea to just pick up a kitten that you see alone. Mama cats move their kittens often when they're in a busy city. And they can only take one at a time, and it takes hours sometimes. For all we know, the mama cat could have been sitting across the street, or on the roof just over their heads looking down at them, waiting for the humans to leave her kitten alone.

@Thomas Kelly, unlikely. If the kitten was somewhere in a sheltered area, then maybe. But mum cat would not have kept her litter on a busy street and transporting them from there one by one.

I cannot understand how dozens of people pass by, see them, and just keep walking. It breaks my heart that they dont find this tiny little life important just because it's not human.

Well, one needs to spend _hours_ *observing* a kitty like this. If mamma cat was moving her litter, she can only take one at a time. It can take hours. And when you watch a kitty, you can't be _interacting_ with it, otherwise the mama cat may just stay away. For all we know the mama cat could have been across the street or on the roof above them waiting for the humans to leave. And then she watches them take her baby.
Ultimately the cat's going to have a better life than on the street. But still. We humans can assume too much.

I remember when my mother rescued my cat, who appeared to be 2 months old, he was saved from a car that almost ran over him, so he started living with me, and today he is 5 years old.
All she needed was a little bit of kindness. Bless you for rescuing her/him.

Opposite to what people think cats are really milk intolerants, meaning they get diarrhea, gas, etc. The best milk for a cat, specially a kitten, is GOAT milk diluted in water, 40 goat/60 water.
my kits drink whole cow milk and refuse the skimmed, since they were kids

Not feral. She's not even afraid of humans. Most likely abandoned by human owner.
In Turkey all the animals are pets. Because we care for them, we feed them, we love them. There are no feral cats or dogs in Turkey.

@@gamer8185 no he is right. I lived there for six months. Believe it or not, they have a deep culture of caring for the animals. 9 out of 10 cats I would meet are very friendly and not shy at all. They know people care for them. Same goes for dogs.

I feel like a lot of time and happenings passed between bringing her home and adopting her out... She looked like she had a respiratory infection, did she get vet treatment? Would have loved to see her meeting her new owner and being taken home - home. I'm glad she was rescued.

Thank you for caring enough to realise these poor defenceless animals need and deserve to be rescued & given safe and caring homes. We're all fellow creatures on this planet - all we need to do is ask ourselves how we would want to be treated if in the same circumstances. This little kitten wouldn't have lasted much longer and it is upsetting to know that at her very young age she had to go through such a horrible, life-threatening ordeal. The animals feel, and suffer, everything we do - and they need our help.

Many years ago I took care of a stray kitten who was all by herself. I took her to my house m. Believe me or not, she was lying on my tummy all day long. She didn’t want to leave me. My favorite companion of all the time. ❤️
