    A wonderful woman came to my work and after chatting a bit she offered to make me a mala. I'm learning how to use it when/if she makes it. Such a wonderful practice, and I will do my best to respect the custom and practice meditation. I am just doing research on how to now offend, and give it the respect it deserves. Thank you. I felt that her offer was a blessing and a message ♡

      Thank you Stan. The most important aspect is the devotion with which you chant the mala. Treat it like a prayer item and keep it on your prayer room. You can also wear the mala in your neck but make sure it does not go below your navel. Chant any mantra with devotion and try to make it a regular practice. Om Tat Sat🌷🙏🕉

    I was raised in the Protestant Christian faith but eventually fell away and saw myself rooted in Reason and Rationality.
    This year has been transformational, and I’ve been drawn back to religious or spiritual thinking/being but it reached out through Greek philosophy and eastern religion
    Now I’ve got my mala and am learning the practice of japa, ironically quite like a Catholic.
    My Calvinist grandfather must be crying tears of joy with Buddha, Christ, and an assortment of heavenly deities

      Divine blessings. Thank you for sharing. Please know that religion is man made and each belief system and rituals may differ. Yet it reaches the same one God, the same one consciousness. If one follows any path sincerely they reach the same end destination. Unfortunately many religions are confused and like to claim they are the best while others are inferior to them. This is a great error that unless rectified will continue to keep people deluded and confused. Om🙏🌷🕉

      @@jnanabhakti-swaminikhilana1312 Thank you swami, I always had that sense and it’s only been more confirmed with my growth this year.
      Shortly after my grandfather passed, I “saw” him in a dream and he just nodded with a look of gentle understanding and acceptance.
      I think now that in that look was the ultimate knowledge of dharma or something, I wasn’t on “the” path at that time but he could see the greater path

    • @jnanabhakti-swaminikhilana1312
      @jnanabhakti-swaminikhilana1312  2 роки тому +3

      Om Tat Sat Sushant ji: Sorry I must have missed your comment. Yes you may wear your Japa mala as long as it is done in a respectful way and it does not go below your navel. It will certainly protect you but do not display it openly. It should be hidden and should touch your skin for maximum impact. There are different malas for different types of Japa so please make sure you use the proper mala. For example if you are using "Om Namah Shivaya Mantra" then you should use a Rudraksh Mala. For Lord Rama, Krishna or Vishnu you should use a Tulsi (Basil) mala. The most important thing is your devotion and how you chant the mantra. Do it in a prayerful way and do it consistently. Om Tat Sat.

    • @jnanabhakti-swaminikhilana1312

      Bhava or emotion is your connection with the Ishta Devata. Do your Japa with a feeling of joy and love. Like you are enjoying a mystic sugar candle. Even if you do Japa without Bhava it is better than doing no Japa at all but will have limited benefit since the process is mechanical. Yet there is a benefit but it is much greater if you put your heart and mind in it also to the extent possible. Divine blessings 🙏🕉🌷

Please do it regularly at a certain time with faith. You should keep the mala in your prayer room in a sacred cloth. You can chant the mantra as often as you like but always complete the entire mala 108 beads at a time. You may do 5 or 10 Japa Malas at a time or more if you have additonal time. Hope this helps. Om Tat Sat. Thank you. It is generally a good practice to do at least 10 malas per
      Day (if possible). Otherwise every little bit helps. The most important factor is your feeling of devotion towards your diety when you chant the mala. If you have more time it is better to chant slowly while internally enjoying the process like you suck on your favorite sugar candy. It should give you a feeling of expansion and peace. It is important to do it daily and be as regular as possible. Hope this helps. Om 🙏🌷🕉

    *Swami'ji, One should not cross the meru mani after 108 bead count is done, am I correct ? If yes then is their a way to know that the meru mani has come, so that one doesn't cross it. Many Thanks*

    • @jnanabhakti-swaminikhilana1312
      @jnanabhakti-swaminikhilana1312  4 роки тому +1

      Thank you for your question Divine Self. Correct Meru is the 109th bead. Please note the beats are always rotated in a clockwise direction. Ideally a mantra received from a Guru is highly effective. So to your question, the 109th bead (Meru) will let you know you have completed 1 full count. You will know because the Meru will block you from going forward. Plus you will feel the tassell that is a part of the Meru. You then simply rotate the mala and start again. You can decide how many malas you would like to do in each session say 5 or 10 etc. So after the Meru counter again you have completed the second mala and so on. Please let me know if this was helpful or if you have any other questions. Om Swami NIkhilananda

    • @jnanabhakti-swaminikhilana1312
      @jnanabhakti-swaminikhilana1312  4 роки тому +1

      Om. Thank you for your question. The most important aspect of the mala is your bhavana (inner sentiments and emotions) with which you chant not necessarily a certain religion, although following the teachings of Sanatan Dharma will greatly benefit a sincere aspirant. The mantra japa is much more effective if it comes from a sincere Guru and the person practicing it is also a sincere aspirant. However in the inital stages you can just chant any mantra that gives you peace. Yes, you can also use it for mediation practice. You may contact me on messenger if you need further guidance. Om!

      Om Tat Sat Sridhar ji. Please place the Japa Mala in front of your alter at the lotus feet of your Ishta devata. You can purify it with Ganga Jal if available. The most important part is your feeling. Pray from your heart that this Japa Mala be auspicious for you. After that you can start the Japa. Always respect the mala. You may also wear it on your neck after the Japa. It should not be below your navel and do not let it touch the ground. It is always good to get mantra initiation from a spiritual guru if possible. However initially you may get started with any mantra that gives you peace. Om🙏🕉

Make sure you are relaxed and the spine is not stiff. Perfectly ok to have the mala in your lap while you chant. Just make sure you treat it like a prayer item with respect and it should not touch the ground. Do not worry about forms. The most important thing is chanting and the feeling of peace. Do the Japa regularly at a set time. Ideally in the morning. Chanting loudly is ok initially but then you should chant just slowly or even mentally so you can get a feeling of peace and bliss. Lot of shops apply chemicals to the Rudraksh mala to avoid it from insects eating it etc. Also generally Japa Malas are not fake since they are not very expensive. There are specialists in Rudraksh who can tell you if it is fake or not. Please note that mala is a counting mechanism and connects you with God. So the most important think is your devotion. It depends on your feelings. The mala you are referring to is known as Shiv Shakti. So both blessings come to you. Shiva adores Rudraksh and Parvati adores sphatik or crystal. Make sure they are genuine and a true Japa Mala should have a total of 109 beads. 108 for Japa and 1 Guru bead for keeping count. Follow the same process as shared in the video. After 2 rotations you will have completed one mala. 54 x 2 = 108. So if we have completed 10 total rotations you have done 5 malas. Om Tat Sat🕉🙏🌷

      Rudraksh mala is generally used to chant Lord Shiva or Hanuman ji mantra. You did not mention which Ishta Devta you are chanting for. For Lord Vishnu, Rama, Krishan tulsi Mala and for Devi Ma Sphatic Mala is ideal. However most important thing in mantra chanting is your bhavana or feeling as all Gods connect to the same one God. • @jnanabhakti-swaminikhilana1312
      @jnanabhakti-swaminikhilana1312  5 років тому +1

      Dear Marisa,Divine Blessings! It is purely upto you and how you are feeling. Of course the more the better but initially a goal of 10 malas each day is a good goal to start with. More important is daily discipline and dedicating some time towards your Japa. If you go deep and feel like mediating it is ok at that time to stop chanting the mantra and enjoying your meditation.Also a certain spiritually charged place that is fixed will greatly help. A nice shower, burning incense and a light also create a right environment for your daily japa.Answer to your second question is "Absolutely". That is a profound mantra and if you have been practicing it you may continue to do so with the mala jaap. It means like a drop of water on the lotus simply beads up and then falls into the ocean and merges into the ocean and becomes one. In the same way feel yourself becoming one with the universal energy.Hope these explanations answered your questions. Please feel free to ask anything else that will help your spiritual practice.Divine blessingsSwami Nikhilananda

      Fear is a natural reaction. However please note we learn to trust. For example when you drive you trust the other driver will follow the rules. When you fly in the plane you assume the driver is not drunk etc. Much in the same way remember that God is taking care of you and all your nears and dears. Have faith and resign to him. Understand we live in a transient world where all things change with time. Whenever you have a feeling of fear, remind yourself of Lord Hanuman. He has amazing strenght and energy. Trust your daughter is being protected by Gods loving care. Stay busy in doing productive things or sharing your talent. You will find peace and gradually your fear will wash away. Divine blessings. Namaste Anurag ji. Actually Sanatan Dharma is an all inclusive universal way of life. It accepts all religions as reaching the same one God. It is a global and accepting concept. The teachings of Sanatan Dharma are for all to benefit. Bhagavad Gita is a universal scripture. One can remain a Christian but still read the Bhagavad Gita and benefit from it. That is actually the strength of Sanatan Dharma and there is never any conversion required. Saints and Sages are universal and not radical clerics. Religions are mostly man made. Judging them as right or wrong is one angle of vision from a human standpoint. From a profound standpoint God has created all of us with the same Atma, consciousness. We all come to earth for a while and we all die and depart. To realize the Self and attain Self realization is really the goal of life. There are not many Gods. There is only one God. It is perfectly ok if you did not like or do not agree with my views. The intention is to guide all who want to benefit. Thank you for your input🙏🕉🌷

      Namaste Suraj. Why Not? God can take any form and any shape according to our faith. When we say God is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient why should we restrict him or limit him in any way. Om is the ONE God or consciousness. Does not matter what name or form you attach to it. It is not only for Hindus or Sanatana Dharma but for the entire world. Om Om Om 🙏🕉🌷
