One thing I found on a hot pass, burning colder can be a double edged sword. You burn too cold and you’ll have to sit longer to get that puddle established and to tie in to the face, all the time soaking heat into the root increasing your chances of sucking back. Gotta play around with it. Great video Jody 🙏🏼🫡
Thanks for the information and the great offer on the first month payment Jody. Can't beat a deal like that. Hope you have lots of new enrollments. Stay safe and keep up the great videos. Fred.
hey im going collage here August to be a welder with my niece too in GA! And we were trying to find out what the setting on the welding helmet do also and some other safety things you need to do for new welder! the one video i found that was 9year ago on your channel and it talk about different helmets but not on what the setting do for different weld light level and type? can you make a new welding safety video or seen me some link to find out about it so i can get a head up before classes start!
Hey Jody great video as always, I was wondering if you could do this same plate but in the overhead position because i have my test coming up and i have to perform this weld in the 3g and 4g position. Its also a looser 1/8 gap and a smaller wire but its fine. I know its a reach but I would really appreciate it if you could do an overhead version of this weld in the near future. Thank you Jody!
Could you do a welding exhaust pipe with a 120volt stick welder video? I think that might be in my future unless my tek screw exhaust pipe idea hangs in there.
Could you please tell me what camera you are using for these great arc shots? I have used my phone with the ISO turned way down but it's still too bright to see what's really going on. Thank you!
I use a canon video camera with several different lenses ranging from neutral density to 12 welding lens. lots of trial and error but taking notes helps
Definitely use them, they are worth every dollar. I have started using one recently after 21 years of not using any protection and I would never work anywhere without an airfed helmet. You will be horrified at the crap you would of been breathing when you check the filters for the first time👍
@gambitdesert8500 Good point. If you can't get your boss to chip in and you're clean shaven, a respirator is still going to do the job. The main thing is to use something and look after yourself

Awesome video Jody always informative. You the man 👊🏻
Nice clean and concise video.
Any tips for preventing lack of fusion at the start of the root and how to prevent the very top from sagging down?

@@Welder-wt4ibthanks for the hands on info. I am skeptic on the prices being really worth it compared to just a respirator

Perfect 👍
How gap?
Wtf so my mig 180 can do tig as well? Primeweld machines are badass

That's cheating using the cup as a guide.
