It's like BuzzFeed, but down under. We're a bit cooked, not afraid to get deep and sometimes we'll make you crack up. New videos every week!
I can hear all of Asia rolling their eyes.
aouttr I know. Mi goring is not even spice and sometimes they don’t add chill or add only half a packet. What the hell?
@@shreyabhandari0801 You can also add literally anything to mi goreng. Why they find adding peas or sausage weird is hilarious.
@@aouttr i know right? Leftover chicken, veggies, chives, poached eggs, sausage, etc... I do respect the seasoning but theres nothing wrong with adding additional flavours to make the dish taste better
It’s just noodles why they so problematic ✨🧚🏻
I should make a video how to hook this noodle dish up for ya! It delish! 😋
Such an amusement for us, Indonesians, to watch.
Jo Yan all the thumbs up are from Indonesians 😂😂
ikr im malaysian and usually ill cook the noodle first, while its cooking ill put all the spices, ketcup in a plate/bowl then put in the noodle. lastly pour some onion. the way theyre making it is unusual
Athena Asamiya I’m Aussie I do that too
Athena Asamiya yesss i come from a family all born raised and grown up in singapore and malaysia and i agree. it’s also so funny to hear aussies call it that bc mee/ mi goreng is literally malay for fried noodles just call it instant noodles ?!??
@@rachellegrosse ikr😂 but in malaysia we call it mi goreng or "mi sedap" which is really popular in malaysia. eventho its a different brand we'd still call it mi sedap😂
The chili isn't even spicy?? I got confused when foreigners call indomie goreng "spicy"
I'm American not Australia lol but I think it may be because the most popular instant noodz here are very bland with no spice, just a salty flavor.
It is here
I’m Australian and I don’t find the chilli spicy either😅
heh hoh lol
The chill is sweet to me🤷🏼♂️
Mi goreng without the spice?
Mi goreng with half the spice?
Who are these people?
The only good one was Ryan cuz he did it right and added more to make it better
and tom that he tried to make it a meal, and the girls got so praised when they both did the same shit pretty much and added nothing
It's instant noodles for a reason
@Jesslyn Cecilia Yes same with me.......not only that but that's not even what a brooke uni student would eat bruuh
"you dont need the chili when youre hungover"
koreans: 😳
Hahahahahha
Literally every Nepalese too
🤣🤣🤣🤣
i love these comments sections because if it covers something asian or italian you know everybody suddenly turns into a fucking expert
nobody cares
Imagine thinking Mi Goreng with the entire chilly sauce is spicy 😭
😂😂😂 right like.... they don't need to eat samyang they'd die.
**Laughs in Indonesian's sambal**
(Laugh in hype abis)
It made me so unreasonably mad
**Cries in sensitive tongue**
some of these ppl rlly be adding 1/2 the chilli sauce, or none at all, while i put in extra chilli powder bc its not hot enough
Same XD
a BiT tOo SpIcY fOr mY LiKinG lmao smh
@Bakoobie Well it IS different for everyone, BUT, for people who have a high spice tolerance, we're used to tasting the spice and the flavour of the food in a very balanced way. Neither cancels out the other, rather it gives a much more pleasant and enhanced taste.
We get it not everyone can handle spice 🙄
Omg everyone handles spice differently? How shocking! The audacity!
WHY ARE THEY JUDGING EACH OTHER SO MUCH BUT THEY ALL COOKED IT WRONG-
Because they are asked to judge smart*ss...
@@tq1807 no duh, judging in a bad way... there is different levels lol
As Indonesian. I feel bad the way they cooked. Like.....😑
EXACTLY
How is it supposed to be cooked? Curiously just asking cause I had my first pack of mi goreng today
Zeta really annoyed me... her constant thing of you eat mi goreng because you're poor and I'm not anymore so I don't eat it. Ugh. Really pretentious. Some people like food because of flavour, regardless of price! Grrrr
and the annoying face gestures
Even celebs like kardashian eats it, and I'm 100% sure she's way richer than zeta
I knooowww so pretentious right???
truee, my friend is rich af yet she still eat indomie once a week (her parents forbid her to eat it too much, if not, she'd eat indomie everyday probably)
Pisses me off
My dude Ryan the only one who ACTUALLY had a recipe lolol
this is stupid like, its literally just boiled noodles with. some sauce and seasoning and they’re judging each one like they are all completely different dishes
velvettiin I know but like there mi goreng were all made different and had different ingredients and cooking styles.
Ephraim Gomez the only only difference in cooking style was the way they boiled their noodles 😂. One of the girls thought it was bizarre to let the noodles soak in hot water
welcome to buzfeedoz
True!
It should be shit but it's amazing😂
Isn’t that same girl who couldn’t handle a bit of spice in her food?
Came here for this. 😹
Yeah they are all the same people
Ohh I hate her so badly. She seems like a smartass type of person
kobe jones the purple one?
Stan SF9 And rm’s tiddies yep
Honestly I would take the sausage and egg one over the rest anyday
bruh. protip: CRISPY BACON > sausage.
Bro i dont know why but every single video i watch u comment on it lol we must like the same stuff
ever tried spam and scrambled eggs?
@@elananaj4916 you*
I would think to much flavor contrast with the sausage
they’re complaining about a food that costs less than a dollar, when they didn’t even follow the instructions
As a person in college that eats lots of vegetables, Zeta saying she didn't think a uni student wouldn't even eat one make me really annoyed
Why is everyone overcooking the noodles? It looks like a big clump of soggy noodles. As an asian I rate the last one the highest. Dont know why everyone was crying about it not being cooked in a pot
xPandahaha yeah I hate my noodles being overcooked and soggy😅😣
Yup I go the route when I want it faster haha
i literally cook indomie in a *wok*
Indomie cooked in a pot actually tastes way better idk what it is but it does
I usually boiled the noodle until it come to a little bit "transparent" but not overcooked it to big and soggy. Except when it comes to soup noodle, I often overcooked them haha. It's little weird to me to eat a noodle with dry part inside the noodle.
Ryan: there’s no healthy green vegetables
Me: ITS INSANT NOODLES😂
And then he just throws in a whole ass cup of peas 🤣
No, some japanese instant noodles put dried vegetable
@@anafghhselena dried flakes of leaves, so nutricious

Really N-Word?
Tom kept saying he was unsure with Ryan's. But basically ate the whole bowl lol 😆
I thought that also.
It would be a waste not to tho...
May be he didn't want to waste the food .
They are acting like a few ingredients make a such big difference bruh
As an Indonesian myself, im really dissapointed in the Aussies for the way they treat a legendary food
i got vvv offended when they said sausage and egg don't go well with mie goreng, i mean, yOU SAYIN?!
Seems like the wrong kind of sausage...
I just made my indomie like that and I listened to them like.. 😳
Hahaha ikr 😭😭
That's a bbq sausage not a kitchen sausage
I’m indo, and let me tell you, indomie goreng is as crucial as our flag. We love our mie goreng with egg and sausages. That’s exactly what we would eat if we want to make ‘fancier’ version of indomie goreng. And none of us makes indomie the way she did, unless you don’t have stove in your place and that means you have no choice. It will change the noodle’s texture and it will lose the chewiness. I think mostly indos hate peas but we love love love our fried shallots. Extra hugs for extra fried shallots 💜 one more thing: never leave the chili sauce behind! Put it all and extra chopped chilies is necessary 😉
I'll use double the seasoning and add a soft boiled egg
Not everyone loves spicy food. You have to understand that the pallets of westerners is less used to spicy foods than asian people. So this is a western version of an asian dish.
@Alex161 sure. but this girl acts like she's rolling her eyes to everyone else while we're indos are rolling our eyes to her 🤷🏽♀️
I eat indomi with rice
@@shellstar2467 How are you still alive
Zeta saying you don't need spice when you're hungover... that hurt my heart a lil bit
The opposite of how I feel when I’m hung over lol
You can never have too much spice
I am EXTREMELY confused by Zeta's room in the background. What on earth is going on there, does she live in a doll house? The dimensions of the furniture and furniture / ceiling hight ratio are WAY off. Is this a fake background or is something terribly wrong with my eyes...???!!!

When she scratched the pot with the fork I started shivering even though there was no sound.
The secret to the perfect mi goreng to stir all of the seasoning, sauces and oil together in a bowl. Then add the noodles along with a little bit of that noodle water. So that the starch will help marry everything together. Then you add the crunchy things.
Umm but why isn't everyone mixing all the sauces together then putting the drained, very chewy just cooked strained noodles into it
cus it literally says to do that on the back of the packet
But
Hori
That how Indonesians eat
Why the heck would anyone not do that?
As a uni student I’d put oil to a hot pan, fry some minced garlic and bird’s eye chilli until fragrant, then add some veggies (usually sitting around) like cabbage, kai lan, Choy sum etc then throw in your cooked noodles with some of the water it was cooked in, add all the seasoning except the fried onions, maybe add more abc kicap manis sauce, white pepper and this other chilli garlic sauce (not sure what it’s called) then create a well to crack and egg to cook with it. Not bad but I think frying a sunny side up separate would’ve been better. I was too lazy and cbf by then lol
That honestly sounds yum!
I screen shotted this
Guessing the chilli garlic sauce is siracha?
Oh shit this guys serious
Sounds good but why the water? This isn’t a soupy kind of ramen. They’re called fried noodles for a reason, consistency is meant to be closer to something like lo mein
7:40 probably because you didn’t stir it good enough... estimated IQ: 62.5
The guy with a cap is just trying to say his is superior and trying to give his the highest score even though it sucks lmao😂
I put all of the sachets in, a fried egg, chopped spring onion and garlic aioli. Fffff yes. Lol
This is clickbait. This video should've been titled "4 ways to butcher mie goreng: snobby, pretentious westerners edition"
LOL, agree
It's BuzzFeed
Except Asia and Australia are on the same side of the hemisphere
Huh i kinda expected more extremism. It's just basic stuff people do to indomie when they're alone.

I'm Indonesian and we add mie goreng with everything from sausage, fried egg, corned beef, extra chili to spinach. Ironically, I think it's very western thing to add peas on mie goreng
I would swap that with edamame. Keeps the ingredients Asian, more fitting for the dish.
This is kind of amusing to watch. Especially when Aussies day that Mie Goreng is ‘spicy’ for them. Even though I am an Aussie myself, My Mum is Indonesian born. Mie Goreng is a snack she sometimes eat for lunch when she just doesn’t feel like cooking sometimes.
And the funny thing is, she doesn’t think it’s spicy at all. She even goes as far as to eat the Spicy Mie (Not original Onion flavor), use the entire Chili packet, AND add some extra sriracha in it! She sometimes asks me to try a bit of her Mie creations from time to time. But I usually decline, because I know I would practically die haha. I swear she has full immunity with Chili! 😂
As a malaysian, I do understand her...those needs for spicier foods..yes...which drove us to create deabak ghost pepper instant noodles that we might regret or might not regret... (which is also mee goreng)... And now we have newer versions with different flavours for daebak ghost pepper instant noodles and chips and cola. 🙈
I can relate your mom… as a indonesian eating spicy food is mostly normal here, I love spicy food especially the noodles I could not eat noodle with no spice for some reason
@@kazuhamyluv7136 Oh yes, that is exactly what she feels some times. Sometimes after eating a chilli filled meal, I used to ask if eating Chilli kind of hurts, why keep eating? She answered just like you. It's addicting. There's also a joke she made i remember vividly, when we were eating in Sedap Place in Taman Anggrek years ago. That the more red a chilli dish is, the more Indonesians salivate over it haha
@@Tenshii_Artii 😂

The fact that both the girls didn’t add all the chili.
zeta annoys tf out of me, being rich doesn’t determine if u can eat indomie or nah
"It's not trying to be anything that it's not," umh sis she left the chili -.-
And lol they just ate 4 packs of Indomie in one sit, my parents would whoop my ass if they ever found out I did something like that.
And fair point though by Ryan, sometimes some veggie is needed to make it deceptive for yourself that it's a little bit healthier
How are these broke uni students able to afford to get drunk and hungover yet dont have enough money for decent food?
That's the point - we don't BECAUSE we spend money on booze
@@darceyevans3461 wow such priorities 👏
@@Thomas-Bradley welcome to 18-20 year olds my friend (in all honestly tho I don't drink and have two jobs + full time uni so i'm kinda talking out of my ass)
It's not about money... It's about convenience... Did you make elaborate meals in university?
What's the point of this challenge when two of the dishes literally have nothing added to them. Like wow, you've got different sauce levels.
Me as a half Indonesian half Australian, I feel some joy in me. Seeing some Aussie enjoy our food! Glad you guys enjoy Indomie! :)
Some thoughts I had
• different people have different spice tolerance
• different people have different tastes they like
•its just food so as long as the person eating it is enjoying it, it shouldn't be a problem on how they make it
•be more open minded when it comes to food. I come from asia too so obviously it feels weird to see our dishes being made in a different way but I guess it's okay we all alter dishes according to our tastes
Or just follow to packet instructions
Ok but as an uni student, I think Sohan's version was the most accurate in terms of...how broke uni students would cook instant noodles in my country, cause lemme tell u, not all of us have a stove in the dormitories, but what we do have is one of those super cheap electric kettles.
Fellow uni student pro-tip (especially if you're international): Woolworths' homebrand mi goreng is just as bomb, cheaper, and underrated! Remember to leave some for the next person (at the store, in the aisle, on the shelf) !

Mi gorneg: AM I A JOKE TO YOU

Mi goreng was my childhood growing up with an Indonesian mum 🤩
I’m surprised they didn’t get a bit more creative and level up. I put tuna, veggies and fried egg in mi goreng.
I didn't like how whiny and spoiled and "oh those days are behind me now" some of them came off as 🙄😒.
Edit: and pretentious.
I'm a Japanese. I always eat indomie with 7-eleven's egg sandwich, and it's so good! But for some reason, mi goreng which is available in Japan doesn't come with the chili sauce, so I usually add sriracha when I cook it.
yeah some parts of indonesia like surabaya, have indomie that doesn't have the chili sauce
They think Japanese not like spicy, but i think mie goreng chili sauce really the key
Me being asian :
Me: *adds 5 packets of chilli spice*
Them: OH my god so spicy ah ah o
Same I add red chilli powder.
I remember commuting to Chinatown just so i could buy a whole box of Indomie during college. I'd lug that box on the bus back to my sharehouse. No regrets.

nah. You first chop up one quarter of Spanish onion. Fry it in some oil then crack an egg and scramble it on the side, next to your frying onions. transfer that to a bowl. Now in the same pan, cook your noodles with 1 cup of water with the lid on. After all the water evaporates fry it for a bit, put all your sauces in mix it up throughly then add in your onion and egg. Garnish with coriander and spring onion. Now thats how you make Mi Goreng.

3. Strain noodles, add to the bowl and mix it together. Done *chefs kiss*
1) they're not making it for a damn uni student
2) pee goreng (hahahaahah)
3) idk, i three points for effect
Wait sorry how is mie goreng related to Aussies? Genuine question......
Australian here.
So, mi goreng is to us what ramen is to the US. Cheap food, simple to make, etc. Ideal for uni students stretching out their cenno so they can go get munted at Revs come the weekend. It's not 'our' food. It's bastardised to the extreme, and if anybody acts like that's the genuine article -- well, they've either never been outside of Buttfuck, South Australia, or they're ignorant to the point where you have to assume it's deliberate.
Short answer: Indonesia next door, uni students poor, mi goreng cheap.
Anyone can eat mi goreng🤦🏿♀️
@@Oddricm hahah that makes sense!! I guess with the geographical proximity mie goreng is one of the main instant foods available.
we eat this shit flat stick when we’re poor as hell 😂
Indomie from indonesia
"its not trying to be something which it's not" HOW WOULD YOU KNOW???
Is what they call Mi Goreng, just ramen everywhere else?
It is extremely strange to me when people make Ramen and do not use broth! Like have you never had real Ramen from a Japanese restaurant or have you never seen someone eat Ramen in a restaurant in another country? They are literally slurping up the noodles and slurping up the broth afterwards! And honey you most definitely need that chili oil when you’re hung over you need all the space you can get to get your life right!😂
I grew in in cabramtta and had alot of Asian friends and most of their mum's would put lettuce, scramble eggs, about more fried shallots and it was da bomb
I know they're trying to go for the "university way" but I feel like they should chosen people that made the noodles in a somewhat more unique way like the two guys were fine but the girl literally did nothing, just only made it in the original way but changed up the process. Like the guy who added the peas was more unique than the others, it would've made things interesting and fun to watch.
Why are yous saying me go RANG it’s reng
5:35 It does not necessarily need two pans. If you fry the egg first in your pot and then set it aside while you cook your noodles you can do it all in one pan. It’s not conventional but you can pretty much free and egg in any piece of cookware I will do this once in a while to save on dishes if I’m cooking something with eggs and other ingredients.
Mi goreng without chili is something my brain can't compute
I shallow fry my noodles for some crunch, and chuck an egg on top.
I might try pea goreng.
The guy is a culinary genius
You gotta have a hard boiled egg & chopped scallions in the mi goreng. Best combo!
Mostly Indonesian usually cook Mie Goreng with a lot of vegetables, chillies, and with an egg.
I always add a soft boiled eggs, spring onion and some pickled red onion...
