I have just watched Michael's visit to Málaga again for the third time. Tomorrow after travelling from the UK, I finally get to visit this amazing city for myself, I can't wait.

Hello from the States Mr. Portillo, I have enjoyed your documentaries for a long time, specially the ones from Spain that bring us good memories.
I left Cuba via Spain in 1980, lived there for 6 months, great experience, like many of us, Im of Spanish descent.
Is very touching when you mention your parents, I'm sure they were nice people, take care and keep up the good work.

Coming Soon :)
@@JOURNEYS7 thanks 😊
want to go to ronda very badly
Two passports, one Brexit. Great English accent when he speaks Spanish. Hardly "half Spanish".
More British than we are French, with our French escape passports 🇨🇵🇪🇺. Go on, take me down 😅.
Far from taking you down, I would totally agree with you. His Spanish is pretty dire, and his knowledge of Spain even worse. This series is rather dull outdated Tourist stereotypical Spain. Put it in the attic with the Straw donkey, the bullfight poster, the castanets and the Flamenco doll. And Portillo's Spanish!
I can imagine Catalans and Basque people watching this saying: we are not these people, we are not Spaniards! I must say that almost all of the foreigners than go to and know Spain have this rather romantic version of the country: flamenco, tapas, Bull fightings, Moorish influence, beaches and such. But I blame that on Spaniards themselves, they have created a purely tourism orientated economy, no productive sectors, no innovation, that's why they have such a high unemplyment rate - 13% at the moment, and thas is considered good - Only a few regions, like the Basque Country, are actually thriving and innovating areas, the rest is pretty much stagnant or directly declining.
Do not agree.
His pronunciation is pretty good, particularly when he is not improvising a sentence (such as when he says "fiesta", "feria", "Ronda", etc.)
The stereotypes may be there, his view of Spain a bit romantic but who would blame him, considering his family history.
A Northern Spaniard myself (from the green lands of Asturias), I enjoyed the video.
@@El_Carrito_del_Helao When did it become hard to say Fiesta, feria and Ronda? And surely the whole point of conversation is Improvisation? We don't all walk around reading from scripts! He speaks Spanish like an Upper Class English person. Who is not comfortable doing it.
@@hogwashmcturnip8930 I do not know when, but if you are a native English speaker, I would like to hear you saying "fiesta" (an “ie“ diphtong) or "Ronda" (a rolling "r"), dude. 😀
I can’t get Portillos Andalucia 4. Any idea why this is? How do I get the whole series?
You have to pay some premium on if you are in UK . Otherwise you have to wait here.
@@JOURNEYS7 thanks. No, I’m abroad.
I guess one can defend the virtues of bull fighting as much as one wants. To me the emphasis is on the animal. Show your manly prowess in other ways. There are many opportunities.
yes yes relax
@@hoosomio I am relaxed. After all, I'm not the bull. But maybe YOU should be.
@@cestmoi1262 Of course as always... the Alimans are better defenders than your peers... you are moral superiors and you are the worst
@@hoosomio You got that wrong. I'm the best!
@@cestmoi1262 of course...be superior..
relax
Is there episode 3?
