Great video. I'm doing my first year with a brillion. Unfortunately there was a literal mix up and we got the seed mixed. I'm gonna let my custom guy drill 1/2 in with some oats we're using, and I'll sow the other half with the Brillion. First year putting down grass and first year with the brillion. He's putting down 10lbs per acre with the oats and I'm doing another 10lbs behind him. I've got a 10 foot with the removable wheels.

I’d bump up seed rate to 15 if it calls for 10.

@@luckylawnboy Hey sorry to bug you but this is new to me. Where is the mechanism to adjust the grass seed box? Is it the two large nuts on the end? Right now the "gears' which put the seed out are fully closed and to the right of where they should be. I'm gonna pull out my manual but thought I'd ask the only guy I know who has a brillion

8080CD yeah the 2 nuts slide to meters open and the rear grass box is just a simple handle.

Thanks for sharing. Did you plow the field up or just disk it? What was in the field previously? And how did your stand do last year? Sorry for all the questions. Looking into the Brillion seeder and trying to learn as much as I can. Currently we drill Alfalfa in.

Dairy Barn Woodworking This was an old alfalfa field so it was ripped up we planted winter wheat then after the winter wheat was harvested in the summer the ground set for a month. Then re-seeded. Yes disked up about 4 passes

Thanks for the reply! Did you get a nice stand last year? Did you plant round up ready alfalfa?

Dairy Barn Woodworking I do not like Roundup ready alfalfa because I really like to plant about 6-8 pounds of grass with about 18-20 pounds of alfalfa per acre

Dan Rohr turned out amazing as always. There were two holes that held water because we got pounded with rain but did very well!!

Why did you choose the 3pt over tow version? I am in the process and would appreciate your thoughts.

Dadnatron it’s easier to transport down the road because there is no tires in the ditch and you can get the tractor over on the berm and carry the seeder over the ditch. If your doing larger acres I recommend larger seed boxes. These are good for 5-15 acres depending on seed.

3point will put tire weight down with less traction loss
