  • Picked up a mountain apple seed off the side of the road and decided on trying to get it to grow. This is one of the many fruit bearing trees I have always wanted. The fruits from the mountain apple tree are delicious and the tropical weather here in Hawaii allows these trees to just flourish! This was a trial and error. Never give up on any grow attempt unless it is clear that the plant/seed has died.

    🌺Mahalo so much!🌺
This video really helped me with my Big Island Mountain Apple! I wish I knew how to share a still picture of mine. It's about 7" tall right now with 6 healthy green leaves. Now I'm trying to research how & when to repot.

808tweet I'm happy to have helped! I'm learning as I go as well! I've moved mine into the ground over at the farm but not too much significant growth yet. I'm hoping to see some good growth next spring. I'll put an update up on it in the future if there's anything new worth sharing. The best of luck on your grow! 🤙👍 start a channel!

How many years does it take to bare fruits? I love this fruit so much, I want to purchase a plant but I don't wanna wait too long to get fruit, anything under 5 years I am okay with.

I actually don't really know...there isn't much reliable information out there but I've heard it takes a while...I hope I can get the one I have to bare fruit someday and that way I'll know approximately how long it takes 👍

I know it’s been awhile but is there an update video? I planted a seed last March and it actually started to grow. It’s about 6-7 inches now and frowning slowly. But the older leaves seem to be always dying and falling off even while the small plant grows new ones.

I will be doing an update video on many of my plants here soon and the mountain apple will certainly be one of them 👍
As long as your's shows signs of new growth (even when it seems slow) I think you'll be just fine. Hopefully when you see the update on my mountain apple tree you'll know that your's is okay 👌

I dont have a certain schedule because it also rains a bit here in Hawaii...I just make sure the soil never dries out so when it feels a little dry I'll give it a little water. Keep it moist..not drenched.
