"I’m Stella Chen. I’m a violinist and I'm so happy to be joining the New York Classical Players as Artists-in-Resident for the next three years.
This is particularly meaningful for me as it's a group I've been playing with ever since I moved to New York back in 2017 to start my doctorate.
The academic load was very rigorous and it was near impossible to travel for concerts so I was always so looking forward to the NYCP concerts they were at home so I could participate without missing too much class. And it was always a source of inspiration for me.
New York Classical Players is in many ways my family. I've known some of the players since we were children and you'll find amongst them some of my closest friends and musicians and people I respect most in the world.
As part of my residency I'm simply thrilled to say that I get to play all of the Mozart Violin Concerti and also his Sinfonia concertante.
Mozart's music is so perfect so full of genius yet not boastfully so and it takes such a refined touch to pull it off so I really could not be more excited about these upcoming concerts.
I would love to invite you all to be a part of this journey with me and the New York Classical Players. I can't wait. Hope to see you soon."

Stella, I hope your residence with NYCP will be great. I am sad I don't live in NY to see the NYCP presentations. Looking forward for your interpretations of Mozart's concerti.
