People know the story of Nachiket but hardly know about the discussion between Yamadharma & Nachiketa. Your lecture will surely arouse anxiety in the minds of listeners to read and learn more about Atman & Brahman.
In this respect BORI & you have definitely succeeded in drawing one's curiosity about Atman the word which we use in our daily life numerous times without knowing what it is and means.

A great job, Dr. Maithili Ji. It's my humble suggestion to state very clearly the subjective nature of Brahman, which is everyone's self. Hence your talk and the listeners' listening ( and my writing this comment and it's reading by any too) are the 'experiences' of Brahman . The understanding of the Upanishad in itself is liberating. In short it is subjective inquiry and not objective. The 'mahavaakyams' declare so.

Respectfully, it’s said in this talk on Kathopanishad, that Atman enjoys only when it gets united with body mind complex!
Question is: does Atman gets affected by the actions of body mind complex! So far I understand that Atman is just an enabler like a movie screen, a movie can’t be played without screen but it doesn’t matter to screen which movie is played!
If possible please share your thoughts🙏

    • @kamalakararaobhavaraju7589

      Sir,
My understanding goes that Athman does not affect by actions of body, mind, just like the Sun does not affect by the clouds.
The very nature of Athman is BLISSFULNESS.
      Thanq.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

What the example you said is exactly what Ramana Maharshi said. Atman is like screen. What movie, rain or fire in movie will not effect the scree. It remain as witness of all happening.
As Lord Krishna said in Geeta, one can't function with out me (means Atman) and same time, i am not responsible for your actions.

Namaste sister. Really nice. You are a gentle soul. Your eyes reflects it. However pls note that this explanation contradicts Vedas only on the part of soul is God. Pls refer Rigved 10/129/3 where Almighty God clarifies God creates this universe with Avyakt prakriti. As well 10/129/7 where God mentions that He is lord of souls and prakriti. As well pla study rigved 1/169 sukta which says Dwa Suparna sayuja sakhaya which clarifies 3 eternal entities. World is created by God for soul to attain moksha. Also pls study yajurved 40/8 where quality of God is AVRANNAM which clarifies that soul cannot merge with God as it is not peace of God. Otherwise your explanation is very nice. Namaste.

Happy to quote reassuring lines of हस्तीमल हस्ती
