Anyone saying nowadays that the full service airlines like LH are an "expensive version of ryanair" is totally wrong. You cannot compare the airlines just by their catering. Social responsability, working conditions of staff, salaries etc make up for the most part of the fare difference. Also ULCCs are flying out of largely subsidized regional airports, whereas full service carriers are flying out of expensive (service taxe wise) major hubs. So, you can't really compare.

Thank you for sharing your thought on the topic and for watching the video. If we look at the industry 10-15 maybe 20 years ago I would completely agree with your assessment but the industry has changed a lot over the years and in many cases not in a good way. When we talk work conditions and salaries an airline group like Lufthansa has moved much closer to the level of Ryanair. The good old argument that low cost airlines don't fly from large expensive airports is also hardly the case anymore. There of course service elements other than the on board product which I also talk about in this video but the overall experience as a traveler is arguably not nearly as far away from that of low cost airlines as the price might suggest, which is my main point of critique in the video.

I'm always astonished how people can dislike FRA
It's not a perfect airport but I've never had any issues flying from/to there unlike passenger nightmares like LHR or CDG

I am happy to hear that you always have had a good experience at FRA. I can't remember the last flight from FRA where there wasn't something ridiculous happening but perhaps I'll get lucky like you one day 👍

I think the Lufthansa flight is not considered for a customer flying only for this short distance. They want to carry business customer going out of Europe. The customer need on-time performance, short connection, and stability, not a in flight meal in a short flight ( Because they take food on longer flight or at airport lounge) but I still think drink selection on any flight is necessary.

Do not forget the services. Lufthansa easily can book you on an other flight to your final destination in some cases. Let's say Lufthansa cancelled the flight or your first flight is delayed and you might not catch the second flight to your final destination. You easily can take the next airplane. In compare of Lufthansa Low-Cost Airlines can not easily do it... because the next flight to destination is tomorrow or in some days.

That is a good point for sure. A counter point might however also be that low cost flights mostly are direct, so in case of an delay you'll still arrive at your destination as with Lufthansa chances of missing your connection flight when the first flight is delayed is rather high and in that case you might also get stuck.

@@BongoPlanes thank you for your answer. You are right. In Zurich I nearly did not catch my second flight because the first flight was delayed by 30 minutes and my layover time was 45 minutes.

The question mark remains.... Why should we fly Lufthansa to and from their hubs if we don't need connections?? Carefully listening to you, it appears, that we had a better flight on Ryanair to PMI than your short leg to MUC. What a shame to a legacy & PREMIUM carrier...
