Growing up as I did fatherless, Mr. Rogers became a healthy, hopeful part of my life, for my own generations to come.

My friends lived in a condo in Delaware just south of PA in the early 80's. We were young, long haired, hung over, dead heads in tie dyed t-shirts that smelled like beer and cigarettes and stuff... We did know that Mr. Rogers also lived in the condo.
We were going out early one morning to buy some smokes after an all night party, and then Mr. Rogers got on the elevator and said, "Hi kids. It's a nice day, isn't it?" He asked how we were!
My buddy and I looked at each other through our blood shot eyes and all we could say is,
    "Yes, fine, Mr.Rogers!"
"Have a nice day." He said.
WE WERE BLOWN AWAY! HE NEVER JUDGED US AT ALL! He was really, really that cool!
Hung over, dead head hippies like us could be loved and accepted! WOW!

I watched the Netflix documentary about him, and after watching it, I said to myself, "That's what I would love in my future husband, a genuinely kindhearted man, i can dream 😊

Thank you for putting together this documentary! What a blessing Mr. Rogers was and most definitely still is as he leaves a legacy of encouragement to not only children but also to adults. Fred Rogers' had gentle strength and purity of heart. He embodied the true masculinity that is so lacking in our culture today

I never knew of this guy till recently, and he definitely seems to pull heartstrings. Im from the Uk which is probably why I never knew of mr Rogers. We need more people like him to teach stuff to modern children, all they have is watered down stuff like Peppa Pig to watch.

I'm glad that you've discovered him. Please remember that he ALWAYS sang "it's a beautiful day in THIS neighborhood", NOT "THE neighborhood". The people who seem to remember him singing "THE neighborhood" are simply remembering it incorrectly.

What I've always loved, and miss about Mister Rogers was how he helped children make sense of what's going on in the world around us.

Mr.Rogers is a wonderful man.I grew up watching him and was one of my best friends even though I never met him.I cant believe the BBC doesn't want him in England. His shows are a little dated by now but his message is eternal and all children should know it--" I like you just the way you are".☺
