It's a word used on Capoeira (a style of dance/fight), where it's made a circle (roda) of people and two of them enter the circle (entra na roda) to start the dance/fight (ginga - cause you waddle from left to right before moving forward to the opponent). And here on Brazil we say 'jogar Capoeira' (play Capoeira). Well, just to explain the context of some the words used on the music, because Capoeira is a symbol of black resistance since slavery. And there comes the empowerment she's been talking about all the time. Black people here on Brazil still are the ones with almost none chances or opportunities in life; and she made it! She represents a lot!
Ginga is a move in capoeira (brazilian martial art developed by slaves back in slavery time to defend themselves from the colonizers). It mixes dance, art, martial arts and music. In this song you can hear some metallic song that comes from the berimbau, instrument used in capoeira to make music. Ginga is also known as the way someone moves in a dance, the swag.
I was waiting 4 this reaction. I love this videoclip. Iza is so beautiful and a great singer. By the way, I love african culture and african beauty. Thank you for your attention with our culture and music. You are amazing! Love your happiness! Im sure your baby will be a blessed child!!!
Ginga is a capoeira movement (a Brazilian martial art) Gingado (act of gingar) also means the way the Brazilian moves, with his body loose. Someone who has a beautiful way of walking, has "gingado".
Ginga means something like shake, but it has to do with the ability to dance and move in a dance like way. It is an expression used in African-based religions and also in capoeira (a martial art created by the slaves in Brazil). The dance element comes from the fact that the slaves disguised the fight training as a dance circle. So they'd say they were dancing if seen, so no punishment would be given. If you listen carefully, you'll hear the berimbau, a musical instrument created by the slaves to play during the practices. She is saying "entra na roda e ginga", that means "get in the circle and dance/fight/shake", all three translations are possible because ginga means all 3 as a disguise. So at the same time she is inviting you to dance, she is inviting you to fight
Let me try to explain what "Ginga" means, it's a true story.... have you heard about brazilian "Capoeira" Fight? If not, Google it!!!! Well... back in the days, when we had slaves in Brazil, the slaves developed their own "martial art", but they couldn't practice it in front of the farmers or in front of the white dudes that watched them, for obvious reasons. The farmers didn't want their slaves to be able to fight or anything. So the slaves used a disguise!!! They played instruments while training Capoeira, so all the white people thought that they were just dancing. But they were actually practicing their fight. GINGA stands for the way you move your body while doing Capoeira, how your body should swing from side to side. Search CAPOEIRA here on UA-cam and you will understand what I'm talking about. Capoeira was a fight developed by slaves.
Ginga is means to dance or move your body in a certain way I believe. In my language Papiamento we have a word that sounds similar which is 'Chinga' but the meaning is very different although not entirely cause it does have something with motions of bodies together. To put it lightly chinga just means 'to f***'. Sorry for the language

Ginga, is a dance movement of “capoeira” a marcial art from Brazil
We have several references to Afro-Brazilian religion (Candomblé and Umbanda)
Ginga is a capoeira movement (a Brazilian martial art)
Gingado (act of gingar) also means the way the Brazilian moves, with his body loose.
Someone who has a beautiful way of walking, has "gingado".
Thank you for explaining !
Ginga is not only one capoeira movement similar to a dance but also used as a synonym for dancing in a charming way
É muito engraçado ver pessoas de outros países reagindo a musicas brasileiras
