    If they sound this good from a recording over my computer ear buds they must have been stellar in person. My 3rd lottery winning purchase will be this set up. Will become my reference system for all that will come after

      Naim is trash even that Statment... If u get a pair of Grande Utopias, buy a Pilium amps or Boulder, Vitus...

      @@pamelarios4324 I'm OCD so things have to match. MSB amps and DAC would probably be my first picks.

      @@ocdmods4992 Although the price is ridiculously high for its performance. Do some more research on Pilium dude, the Elektra (Pilium dac) took over and destroyed MSB's select DAC in the Kaiser Speakers demo room in terms of realistic, bass and analog sound. Rainer Weber from Kaiser Kawero says he no longer has the need to listen to Vinyl.
      Didn't hear MSB amps, but Pilium's were better than a Kondo Audio Note Kagura and Ongaku conveyed emotion and got the bass, control, and it was a little better overall than a Boulder 3050. Pilium is expensive but I think it's perfect for what it offers. Trust me ;).

    Wow! Sound fucking fantastic.👍🏾 Why people always complaining about the music selection? “Why don’t they play some real music”? What exactly is real music anyway? I hate that comment so much.Shouldn’t these people have the right to play what the heck they want though? Get over it folks. This not my type of music either, but I still enjoyed the quality of the system, sound and I didn’t complain about the music.

    Nice videos as usual, only problem I have is were is the fast and propulsive music. I was disappointed with the Focal & Naim when at the show & room, twice I was there in the two days, because of the constant boring music that made me want to poke my eyes out with a needle. A 1 or 2K system could reproduce such music been play with no problems..
    What is it with Audiophiles always playing boring music? Please I understand music choice comes into play but mix it up a bit. I want to hear real Jazz real classical, real soul, and some up tempo fast double bass, lets see if the notes stay clear with out tripping over each other. Really getting bored now.

      If an audio company put so much resource and time into making the equipment, there must be a market for it. However sometimes I like to think there isn’t a market for this high end gear, and the design team just say “screw it. Let’s just see what we can make with no budget in mind” :)

      You guys do know the sound you hear will only be as good as the microphone it was recorded on right?

    • @yippie6862
      @yippie6862 5 років тому

      No, we're not that smart. Thanks for the enlightenment... Sarcasm aside, yes I think most of us do know this. We don't use UA-cam videos as an end all be all. We realize that a microphone and playback plays a large role and that it also can not replace being there in person. However, it is fun to listen to sound clips and many times can give us a "general" idea of the tone and overall sound quality.

  • @arthurwatts1680
    @arthurwatts1680 5 років тому

    I get that Naim is about understatement for those who can afford such luxuries, but the recording level on this vid is ridiculously low compared to the intro voiceover. Unlike the sad bastards below, this sad bastard didnt have any particular problem with the music choice but you didnt have a hope in hell of capturing what the people in that room actually heard. 3/10.

    • @PursuitPerfectSystem
      @PursuitPerfectSystem  5 років тому

      the recording volume was fixed throughout the whole show I doubled the volume of the Naim rep to make it easier to hear.
      I have no idea what song is going to be played next and at what level and how much bass there will be etc. I have to watch the recording level to avoid clipping.
      Maybe watch the video on a better play back source and the volume won't be an issue. I don't have an issue here

    • @arthurwatts1680
      @arthurwatts1680 5 років тому

      A better playback source ?? How is it that I can watch vids - YT and other sources - on a wide variety of topics without having to crank the volume ? If Linus Tech Tips or any of the other geek channels released a vid with someone speaking as softly as our friend in the Naim room, they'd hear all about it in the comments. I watched your videos on building a music server and didn't have any problems with the narration - clear as a bell - but the wheels came off the cart with this one.

    • @PursuitPerfectSystem
      @PursuitPerfectSystem  5 років тому

      think about what Linus does - he makes his videos on a set 99% of the time with a team of people around him. he can max out the volume with no negative impact and it wont matter if you listen to him on phone speakers or not because its just speech
      He is not trying to record an audio sound system which has changes in volume of about 30db or more with the no way of knowing that before it happens - its completely different and he doesn't have to worry about preserving dynamic range in the recording either. If You record high the peaks will clip and ruin the recording - if you record low you preserve full dynamic range and the viewer can set the volume by turning it up a bit.
      Some implementations of the You Tube app are pretty poor - generally good smart phones into good headphones is consistent - hence my suggestion maybe try good headphones from a smartphone and you wont have any volume issues. That's how I test every video and they work just fine for volume and thats also the best way to get the most from the recordings

    • @PursuitPerfectSystem
      @PursuitPerfectSystem  5 років тому +4

      also do you have any idea how hard it is to record at this quality level on the move on your own. There is a reason I am on the only person who does it

    • @arthurwatts1680
      @arthurwatts1680 5 років тому

      Fine, but Peter Breuniger at AVShowReports will be surprised to find that you are the only one who does it, when he's been on a plane to pretty much every audio show in the world for the last 5 years. No question that is tough, and Peter's approach seems to be to get right in the exhibitors faces - over time, they've all come to know him and pretty much accept that's how he gets his content.
