I have a 2020 Explorer that, even after 84,000, I love. I did turn auto ON/OFF off from time to time but, thinking I was “saving the environment” I left it on most of the time. At ~75,000 miles my starter went out, with cost me $1,500, towing included. Poor old starter had done the work of a vehicle with ~300k miles when you consider how much harder it had to work. Now I turn the auto ON/OFF “off” every time I start my car.
@@jojonson8708 Thanks for watching!. Honestly, I didn't even think about the wear n tear on the starter. You're absolutely right! You may want to think about installing this device so you don't have to continuously keep turning off the start/Stop. It drove me nuts. Peace!
@@ecobooster8298 Yep. It's on my list of things to do. I attempt to hit that button every time I start the car, but every 1 in 5 times I start the engine, that stupid stop program hits me at a red light. Ooooohhhh does that make me crazy!
Hi Jack, I actually did video that part but it was too dark to see. I didn't have a flash light. I even did it in the day time but still too dark. . But, it's quite easy, once you put your hand under that section, you will definitely feel the connector. Only hard or tricky part is to feel for the little lock lever then pull out the connector. It only took me like a minute. You can do it bro!
@@kisha732 Hi Kisha, thank you for watching! The little lever is on the back side at the very top where the wires meet the connector. Right in the middle. You can feel it move when you push it in to release the lock. T3y with your index finger.

@@jojonson8708 😅😅 I hear you my friend!
The good thing with my explorer is that because of the part shortage, they did not add it thankfully and I got a credit for it.
LOL.. man, you lucked out!! I wish they would at least include the feature when you turn it off it stays OFF.. . LOL..
is there a manual switch to turn off auto start stop feature?
Would have been nice if you showed where you pulled that wire from
