Paul’s Boutique is my favourite album of all!! My favourite band of all time I love my boys❤️ RIP MCA worst one of the worst days of my life :( been with these guys since the eighties and they just got better and better!! ✌️❤️😊
I love that the bulk of that song was based on samples from various Beatles songs. The Beatles ended up suing the Beasties, and their response was something like "What's cooler than getting sued by The Beatles!" Totally classic!
Did you ever notice the similarity between The Beatles and the Beasties, group of young white kids hangin out listening to American black music and deciding to create their own music, and in the beginning was a little simple slightly immature, And as they got older And expanded their minds, their music became more sophisticated And adventuress, In one of the members discovered Buddhism and Eastern religions, And then one of them died too soon
Then they sample the opening of The Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" during the bridge, then rap over The Beatles' "The End" in the second part.
When Pauls Boutique came out it freaked a lot of beastie boy fans out because it was so different . There was nothing quite like it at the time but after a few spins we began to realise just how much of an amazing LP it really was and how far ahead of its time it was .
You made an observation in the video triple trouble about the O-ring with all the cameras. It was in the lot with mixmaster Mike. That’s the same camera set up they used to make it 360° image. Peace and love from NYC
OK so a few things about this song I have not read all the other comments I suspect people already mentioned this however first thing is this is a play on the Simon and Garfunkel song sounds of silence which they are kind of trying to parody with that whiny chorus in the first half of the song... but probably more important musically is the samples on the second half of the song is two loops - it combines the drum track from the Beatles song Sergeant Pepper's lonely hearts club band from the famous album of the same name with the guitar from the Beatles the end which is a very famous song off the end of Abbey Road and they combined these two songs for this second half of this one and they were worried that they were going to get sued by the Beatles but not only did they not get sued but when Paul McCartney went on his subsequent world tours he actually combined these two songs and played them back to back as what had to have been an ode to the Beastie Boys as I am quite sure he was not ignorant of all of this...
I am so thoroughly enjoying your reaction to this! Just stumbled upon you, while listening to songs from my glory days! I saw this live in 1994; they were on the lollapalooza line up & they blew it fucking away! Looking forward to viewing more content!
Check this out. I don’t know where the term “Sound of Science” comes from. But there is an amazing Kool & the Gang song from 1973 where Kool says “we’re scientists of sound, we’re mathematically puttin it down”
Love the Beasties, grew up with them. But have you ever considered checking out Megadeth. The talent is second to none. Dave Mustain and Dave Ellefson are truly incredible Artists.

Yauch is MCA, the drum beat and the guitar samples are from The Beatles. Paul's Boutique is a modern classic
Yessir, “The End” is fine music and Ringo was killing it on that Beastie jam

That line “I do not sniff da coke I only smoke da sensimilla” is from Pato Banton a reggae artist referring to smoking weed haha
MCA’s last name is Yauch. Full name being Adam Yauch. Funnily enough Ad-Rock’s name is also Adam. Adam Horivitz
Another very strong Beastie Boys album is CHECK YOUR HEAD.
Agree about CYH. I hold the unpopular opinion that Ill Communication is underwhelming. I'm a big fan of Hello Nasty and Hot Sauce......
Check Your Head was top notch, in my opinion! It's what really hooked me into the Beastie Boys.
This song is a “mini epic masterpiece “ in its own right. These guys were production/engineering phenoms.
Paul’s Boutique is my favourite album of all!! My favourite band of all time I love my boys❤️ RIP MCA worst one of the worst days of my life :( been with these guys since the eighties and they just got better and better!! ✌️❤️😊
the sample was Pato Banton - Don't sniff Coke

This always seemed like their response to the Beatles A Day in the Life
At the start they are rapping over 'When I'm 64' by the Beatles! Check out how they flipped that sample.
Then they sample the opening of The Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" during the bridge, then rap over The Beatles' "The End" in the second part.

its their BEST ALBUM!!!
'I figured out who makes the crack, its the suckers with badges and the blue jackets!' Word.
yeah...their first album was so successful that wen this dropped...it bombed lol but everyone knows today paul's boutique is their best album

I was fortunate enough to se that tour in Barrie, Ontario. They were at top for to be sure.
Paul's Boutique is their magnum opus
Thanks again Brian, keeping the dream alive.
'95 I met this girl at a Beastie Boys show. We've been married 25 years now.
👌
Adam Yauch is MCA. That’s his real name.
I went to high school in the early 80s with a friend of Adam's and he went by "Adam Yuck" before changing it to MCA
Oh I didn’t know that! Thank you!
I know I am kind of off topic but do anyone know of a good site to stream newly released movies online?
@Eugene Titus Try Flixzone. Just google for it =)
@Westin Jesus Yea, I have been watching on Flixzone for since april myself :D
Yeah that’s right my name’s Yauch. (Yowk. Y-Ow-k. The ch sounds like a K) MCA = Adam Yauch.
That's MCAs last name.

Paul's Boutique, as a whole, is probably one of the best albums ever made.
Not probably, IS... Definitely for rap
First to react to this one too. You’re the man!! 💪💪💪
This was the song that got them sued by the Beatles.
If you wanna see the b boys at the top of their game search UA-cam for the melkewg gig or search beastie boys pro shot japan
"I was not expecting it to be like this"..don't worry, its not.
Rope a dope. First part was them trolling us.
The drum beat and that guitar u hear are Beatles songs
The album is a lost art form.
Check out Action Bronson. His albums don't really on the current trend of rap beats but more of a flavor that fits within his album's formula.
That’s the Beatles music behind the faster part.
And the first beat sampled “When I’m 64” also by The Beatles.
And the slower part. And the bridge in between. There are at least four Beatles songs sampled in this track.
Challenge: name all the Beatles' song on this track.

You're thinking too hard, That Was MCA on that line. MCA's real Name is Adam Youch. It was just a self reference.
Just press the spacebar to pause, no need to scroll up
My computer is old and messed up. I tried doing that. It only works if I have it in full screen.
My man. If you hit the space bar it will pause and unpause the play so you don’t need to keep scrolling up and down from the lyrics

Love your reactions, love you too but its just too many stops...sorry. Still follow you though....
This is when I just started. Been getting better on not pausing so much. But thank your for The constructive criticism! It’s truly appreciated! 🙏
