    Excellent that your tent dried out that fast, and that's a great view too. It's always nice when I get to go to Wi., Mi., and Mn., those are the states I grew up camping in.

    If your looking for a low contact point find some kind of tow,ratchet strap with some kind of loop on the end and lay it on the ground and roll over it with your truck tire to hold it

  • @TonyWirz

    Put something under the tire and roll over it. a strap with a carabiner you can clip to or just a looped strap.

    Great campsite to enjoy nature. What a great way to start your day having coffee/tea with a view of the lake. Bayfield looks like a charming town and that pizza yum . I love to cook so I enjoy cooking videos . I'm always looking for new ideas and recipes. I guess that's why the Food network is so popular. I'm thinking of joining your exercise program. I definitely added lbs during Covid lockdown. Looking forward to the next camping video

    You guys got rain and can build campfires! So cool! While here in WA and OR I heard the moss falling off the trees in the Columbia River gorge rain forest while Rad Biking there last week. We can’t even have propane fires our goto after wood camp fire bans in OR, or cook with charcoal anywhere out here. This morning I did a nice cool 8am bike ride around the Red Rock Canyon outside Vegas in 90 degrees! Thanks for letting us hear your rain! LoL

    The noises you heard were probably Bigfoot hunting and eating his prey! Sometimes he plays with his food before he eats it!!! Yep there is something special about the "Up North", I've vacationed in the UP of Michigan every year of my life. However it was always in the same place. Very special place indeed, but just a couple of years ago I'm now exploring other incredible places in the UP. I'm just a few weeks away from another trip up there. This year my goal is three separate trips... Summer, Fall and a Winter trip. I've got my show shoes, cross country skis and Airstream Basecamp trailer all set for the winter. Can't wait...

    Recently found a Geyser shower (non-heated version) at an REI garage sale and think it would fit the bill on a post-workout sponge bath. You could also get a third sponge for cleaning your Blackstone. You do need a power source (which you have) - it only uses two liters of cold water and the last one of boiling water. More later.

    The camping spot by the water was amazing! I used to use that show up trick for walking. My rule was if I didn’t want to do it I would make myself do 10 minutes and if I wanted to stop no guilt. I only actually stopped once and that time I was fine with it. It does actually work.

    Potato is least "good" for you when you eat it plain. The added "calories" that butter/oil give to the potato actually slows down the sugar rush the plain potato will give you. The sugar rush that carbs give you is what causes most ill health issues in the standard American diet.

    Why do we do that? Why do we go out and explore the world but never own our own backyard? When I moved to California, I found the people that live in California, especially those that have been here all of their life, explore their backyard. Many barely leave the state, but in the Midwest, we look to visit every place else but our own state. I now make it a point to explore my own backyard and appreciate it just as I do anyplace else that I visit.
    I hope everybody else reading this comment does the same. You will be amazed at what is in your city and state and even country.

    "Do it in the morning" hehe...oh workout? Nevermind. 😬 I love sushi, do you have a healthy sushi recipe? Avocado oil healthier than sunflower, canola, sesame, olive or safflower oil?

    • @IreneIronTravels
      @IreneIronTravels  3 роки тому

      Hahaha. I do not have a healthy sushi recipe, sorry! My favorite oils are extra virgin olive oil and avocado oil. I like to use the EVOO for low heat cooking or using for dressings, and I like the avocado oil for high heat on the Blackstone. I do keep sesame oil onboard as well to give my Asian dishes a flavorful kick, but I don't use it daily. - Chris

      Beautiful up there! Yes, I just talked with the factory and they are on schedule to start the model line building at the end of the month. They have to do the mountain series 22fqs first and then the Titanium version which we got starts right after that in August. We Will know more next month, but it could be as early as late August or early September.

    Since you guys surely must pass by Aldi’s stores along your journeys, check out their “Zero Net Carb” bread - 45 calories a slice, 9g of carbs, 9g of fiber, $3.99 a loaf. We’ve made this a part of our everyday diet since we started a low-carb/high-fiber eating lifestyle about a year ago.

    Hello Chris and Aaron!! Thank you for sharing these experiences up on the Great Lakes area!! On my trips to St Paul, I've ventured up to Duluth (loved it) and International Falls (not so much). And, I've stayed in Bemidji for about a total of a week. I'll will add the Bayfield town to the list to explore. I think my next overnighter up in MN will be in October to take my boss to the Rolling Stones concert.
    Have either of you two been up to the Edmund Fitzgerald Museum, by chance?
    Bleh....those southeastern and midwestern areas sure produce big rain storms!! That stinks that you are fighting it with your tent. Head back out west!! It doesn't rain as much.
    Looking forward to some of your cooking shows, for sure!! We had some friends stay here over the 4th of July. They had a Blackstone grill; and what it produced was incredible. It just looked so versatile--- softening some vegetables, cooking any kind of meat you could think of, and...of course, a grand pancake and french toast maker!! Some ideas for your shows--- mexican options, meat and vegetables, etc. I look forward to the ORVs coming it; we can do a pizza in the oven!
    Safe travels!!

      Hey Alan! Glad you are getting to explore MN a bit! I (Aaron) did get a chance to go to the Museum as a kid and I can remember the giant boat like yesterday. I got a pencil souvenir! lol....
      Also, I contacted ORV the other day and they said they are ON SCCHEDULE for producing the 22fqs line at the end of July here. So the Titanium's should start late next month and be done by September. So possible late August or early September deliveries depending on where the units are inline in production! I get to check back in August.

    Being such an organized team, I’m sure that the claustrophobic mess in the cab of your pickup drives you crazy. Funny thing about Wisconsin is that when you look on the map, it sure seems like the Upper Peninsula of Michigan should really be part of Wisconsin. There is a story behind this ……

    • @IreneIronTravels
      @IreneIronTravels  3 роки тому

      It's good 👍 we like it. No problems so far but we only have about 3000 miles on it and haven't got a chance to take It off road much. That will change in next up coming weeks as we get out and boondock more. Still getting used to everything, but we do wish we had the 360 camera system. Would just help alot in tight situations. The truck is pretty tall and is hard to see over the nose when you get close to things.

    • @IreneIronTravels

    • @IreneIronTravels

      We mounted it ourselves. It was pretty easy with 2 or more people and as long as your car has the crossbars that the rack sits on. If you go back a few videos on our channel we show the tent and a little bit on the rack.
