Boondocking tip- for the air fryer and all pots, pans and dishes, use 50/50 white vinegar & water in a spray bottle and wipe with paper towels. Gets them just as clean, but you are not using your water and filing up your grey tank. It is also great for all cleaning of everything, counters, sinks, shower, windows, etc.
@@IreneIronTravels Another tip: Buy silicone, reusable air fryer liners. They have thin ones, thick ones, square & round ones specific for your air fryer. They're like 5 t0 10 bucks or so single or multipack. They are a game changer for cleanup cuz most of the gunk is on the silicone & extends your air fryer coating.... soak in Dawn. 😉
I was halfway to Joshua Tree South BLM dispersed camping (which is where you are) on Wednesday when my RV furnace quit on me! I decided I would need the heat so I canceled my trip. I am watching with great interest to see what I missed. I love your videos. You are one of my favorite RV UA-cam channels! Keep up the good work. I don’t understand why you don’t have 100,000 subscribers, but you will get there!
Oh...bummer your furnace quit on you! Probably a good call as it was pretty chilly over night and we had some rainy, cloudy, cold days as well. Thank you so much for the nice comment, appreciate you watching!
Replacing our Norcold N8X absorption refrigerator with a Norcold N10DC compressor refrigerator was certainly one of your best upgrades. Despite my efforts and cooling fans, our N8X simply couldn't regulate its temperature very well, especially in hot weather. So far, zero issues with the N10DC. And we gained 2 cu ft of storage space in the exact same footprint.
We've boondocked there for the last few years. Nice place until the winds come up; then you better nail everything down. Last year the trailer rocked back & forth a lot even with 4 extra stabilizers down. A suggestion for your refirg: We use a little 2" cube type fan you can buy pretty cheap on amazon. Works well; keeps the cold air circulating. Lots of great hike and photo opps in the Park.
Wow! I have followed you two for years and now your camped in the same park. We are currently near the Twentynine Palms entrance. We have explored Slip Rock and Cap Rock so far. Got flats in our bikes but Joshua Tree Bike Shop sealed our tires. Because of you I carry some weights and have started doing stretches while traveling.
You guys are such a good team! I love how one always pushes the other to keep you both on track. One day soon I’m going to sign up for your coaching - you are the best advertisement possible! 💪❤️
What I found works for me is when you open any fresh veggie in-bag carrots, greens, cabbages, or anything else. Leave them out on the counter; I seem to get about four or five days more out of them. Never have to blot them with paper towels before eating them. Mother nature does that way!
Good to see you both back into the groove of living in a home on wheels and making the most of it. Inspiration to so many of us who follow the channel. Enjoy, be safe and have fun !!
with the fridge try to keep items away from the sides so air can flow thru. I think I have seen where someone makes a small battery operated fan to assist with this issue.
Currently boondocking right near where you stayed. You guys were troopers. I know myself and I would’ve never got myself out the door for a long hike with the weather as gloomy as it was.
FINALLY.....the great escape!! And to escape to Joshua Tree is incredible!! Again...it is really awesome for you two to be back at it! Lots of great segments imbedded into this video!! I like it! Approaching an area for the first time....cooking....rv fridges...trail adventures.....the rare cloudy desert. I think I'll be heading back to this area in early to mid February! Safe travels!!
@@IreneIronTravels Hi there!! yes....it is great! I haven't hiked that southern part of the park yet, so will go check that out too. Came to Phoenix yesterday. Going to meet up with some friends over by Yuma today, then head home tomorrow. I'll be back here in early March for my annual training. Yes...so far, I am really happy with the trailer!! Now that I know about the power hog fridge, I'll just keep it on gas while traveling and, as you two talked about, during the nights in camp. I got our kitchen and bathroom sink leaks addressed. They both just required some tightening.....allegedly. We camped in Aztec, NM on the way home. It was 18 degrees that night and we are very happy with the way the heater does (though, I have no idea how much gas that used). When I put the trailer in it's storage spot (the campground in Ouray), I did a complete shut down of the system. So, I'll let you know how the batteries do, with regards to depletion in a cold environment in a part of town that hardly gets any sun. Safe travels!!
Hi again! It was great to meet you this morning. I came from JT to Bash. I was tent camping out near Black Canyon where it dropped to 24F a couple of nights. I’ll bring the trailer next time…Thanks for the trail recommendation!
Talking about bread: when we switched to a (pseudo) Keto lifestyle a year ago, we were on the lookout for bread “alternatives”. What we found were two - Aldi’s Zero Net Carb -and- Lewis Bakery’s Zero Net Carb (9g of carb, 9g of fiber). Both are excellent, but the Lewis Bakery brand comes in white, Hawaiian, and cinnamon. They also have offer hamburger and hot dog buns. Not to overstate the obvious, but the high fiber keeps us super “loose”.
Chris, you convinced me regarding air fryers. I just went on your Amazon storefront and purchased the one you use. Looking forward to seeing what I can do with it. Thanks!
Great video. As I’m looking to upgrade and go to lithium, I like to see your real world data in regards to system performance while under a heavy load. I’m assuming you’d still be able to run the heavy loads with maybe just one or two of the GameChangers albeit not as long? Thanks.
Thanks, we will definitely be showing more testing and data! With battle born, their standard 100ah batteries can produce 100 amps continuously and the gamechanger can do 300 amps continuously. So with atleast 2 regular batteries or 1 GC3 we would be able to run any high watt appliance like the airfryer, or AC. But you're right....just not as long...depending on how much solar you have and how much it's producing. One GC3 can even surge at 500 amps for 30 seconds!
Great video. Brings back memories of our last trail hike at JT a few years ago; really love that park. You guys look pretty comfortable in your new rig. Good luck with the training.
Re: Your fridge. We had similar issues and I found that there is a tube mounted to the cooling fins that adjusts the level of the coolant. The tube can be adjusted up to raise the coolant level for a colder temperature or down to lower the level for a warmer temperature. Chances are that your veggies aren't really spoiling, they are freezing along with the eggs. Try moving the tube down a bit so the fridge doesn't get quite as cold. The trick is that altitude affects the performance so you may need to adjust it constantly. A thermometer is useful here.
And of course there's the tip to use a little battery powered fridge fan which helps circulate the cool air. Having said that, the "RV fridges" are a bit notorious. :)
After I'm done with my air fryer I put the whole basket and the pull-out part in the sink with hot soapy water just up to cover the bottom of the basket and then after dinner I just need to swish it around rinse and dry
This place is so cool! Awesome air fryer demo! I love seeing you cooking again! Didn’t know about toast in the air fryer - I HAVE to have my morning English muffin so I actually keep a toaster in my camper. I hear REI has an orienteering course - in case Aaron. Feels he wants to freshen up his map skills but even a dead end there is a beautiful place to end up! Good luck with the trail running Bunches of love Noelle
Those cholla cacti are no joke, if you brush against one of the little arms, it attaches itself. I’ve had it happen to me and pulling them out of your skin is very painful!
"Some times you just have to suck it up!" LOL 😆 You 2 are too cute. Love your camping style, I am doing the same but still working on the solar system. Can't wait for your videos on your installation.
Just discovered there are parchment liners that look like big coffee filters for inside the air fryer basket to keep from having to clean them after use, thinking when boondocking and saving water is essential, this could really be a good thing. Just an idea!
Happy New Year and all the best for 2022. Looking forward to following your adventures this year. Joshua Tree was our first national park last year and an amazing place. We couldn’t get a camping place in the park and finished up in BLM land. Enjoy and safe travels in California.
Aaron, Cris fyi.... keep a pair of needle nose pliers and strong tweezers in your backpack when out in the cacti.... those suckers getcha from all angles ! Especially if you have a dog! I've removed many a barbed thorn out hiking around. Even being aware I still manage to get the darn things!
Oh man, I do love me some J-tree so thanks for sharing! I've had so many awesome hiking/camping/climbing exploits out there over the years and find it to be one of the best local get-aways for me here in SoCal, especially in Fall - Spring. I've picked my fair share of cholla out of my shoes too over the years ;-) And I just LOVE it when there's rainy and cloudy weather, such a rare treat out there. One of the truly unique things about J-tree park is that it straddles two entirely different deserts and ecosystems, those being the Colorado lower desert on the Southern I-10 side and the Mojave high desert on the Hwy 62 Northern side. BTW, that's Eagle Mountain you were referring to. So on your fridge, I feel you there. I grew up with those absorption fridges RVing and I'll just say they definitely have their, um, idiosyncrasies. I'll take a 12V compressor fridge any chance I get. Even my current cheaply priced Chinese chest fridge works far better than any absorption unit I've had in past rigs. Have you tried a circulation fan? They don't fix everything but they certainly do help considerably. About ~$15 bucks in RV stores and on Amazon and they run for many weeks on a pair of C or D cells. That should help tide you over until you can get your compressor fridge upgrade.
Looks like the Cosoria Air Fryer is the one to buy !! Funny how fast your video goes by when I watch it . It just seems to catch my attention on the things you say and do. Thank you for sharing this video with me!! BS & BK
I changed to a dc 12 volt fridge I’m very pleased very low power consumption and it’s a regular fridge I run it on solar only my outside kitchen fridge is the same both on solar I have 500 watts of solar
Fun memory! Don't know if they allow shooting out there anymore...didn't hear any gunfire during our stay. But a lot of the BLM we do stay on does allow it.
good to see yall back outside!! two maybes for you...hang a shoe bag/storage on the rv door to clear the entry floor....height will be an issue for you....and second, carry a needle nose pliers for the thorns and the " whatevers".....lol the pliers will add a bit of weight for you training...great video!!
Those cholla cacti are no joke, if you brush against one of the little arms or branches they attach themselves to you. I’ve had it happen and pulling them out of your leg is so painful!
When we were in Tucson, a local gave the best advise to carry a comb to slip under the chollo and pry them up without touching them. It worked great when our dog got some stuck on him. It was better than the kitchen tongs I had since that’s all I had at the time!
Great to see you guys again, Thanks for the update, our 2022 ORV 23DBS just came in. We hope to be down in your area next winter ( from Vancouver Canada) Getting excited!! What are you night and daytime temperatures?
Exciting news on getting closer to your ORV! The temps were highs in the 50's and lows in the 30's at first and then it warmed up to 60's and 40's. We did use a 30lb propane tank the first week, but we were using the heater quite a bit to stay overly toasty!
My first thought viewing this week’s video was how much more comfortable Aaron looked driving the rig than he did just a few months ago! Hooray!! Chris is one tough cookie with all those burrs stabbing through her shoes and a smile on her face. Are you still running the Dometic CFX3 55 IM in the truck in addition to that absorption fridge?
Thanks Rachael! We are starting to get into the groove! We are still using the CFX for grocery shopping, over flow items, and extra drinks. It really is great after a long hike/run and we have some cold bevys waiting for us!
@@IreneIronTravels I would put bread products as they will act as a buffer. Cheese. Definitely not veggies. Cabbage can survive but that it about it, I have this issue with my house refrig.
🤣 It's just a blackout shade that is above the door. We don't have a shade in the door, so the manufacturer mounted one above it like our other shades. Hope you guys are doing well! 😊
Would you recommend this particular air fryer? I am condo-sitting in California, and using a Ninja Grille. Awesome machine, but too large for the Airstream. That Cosori might be a great substitute. I've had success using Dawn Powerwash Dish Spray and a nylon scrub brush for cleanup
Chris really loves this air fryer. It was one of the larger basket styles and is good for one large meal for one or two smaller meals. We got recommended Cosori brand by a few people when we were shopping for air fryers. If we were in a house or had more space we might look at the larger "oven" style air fryers, but this one has been working out great since September. Thanks Bill!
hello cousins, its Janet's son Matt....what great adventures, you both have so cool .... I'm looking for a air fryer .....what's good vs bad about your fryer
Hey Matt, how ya doing! Hope all is well with you and your fam. We are really loving having this air fryer on board our RV! We chose the Cosori brand because of the good reviews and recommendations from a few people that own one. We have the largest “ basket “ style they make and we really don’t have any complaints about it. It cooks fast, gets crispy, has Wi-Fi, is easy to clean, and is a really healthy way to cook. I’d say the only downsides are it’s not quite big enough to cook 2 full meals at the same time and it takes up a good bit of counter space. If we were in a house we might look at the larger “ oven” style air fryers that have 2 or 3 trays for cooking more at one time. Those usually do a bunch of other cooking modes besides air fry as well. This is the link to the exact model we have. amzn.to/3KHHDLI Stay safe and take care!
Oh, no that wouldn’t be good! No weird smells that we’ve noticed. It actually smells like the food you are cooking within in a couple minutes. In a good way!
Hi Guys, I noticed in this video a quick view of your internet equipment in the window. Im just starting out and trying to decide on what I really need to work full time. Can you tell me what you are using and how it is working for you?
Hello! We have been using the same setup since 2019 and it works pretty well for us. Its pretty simple..just a Verizon jetpack hotspot (8800L) and a MIMO window antenna. We have Tmobile cell phones as a back up but 99% of our data use comes from our unlimited Verizon plan. They don't sell the plan any more, but we really like Verizons coverage. We don't recommend getting a Cell Booster (Weboost/SureCall) right away as those only really help in a small percent of remote use case scenarios and are very expensive. We did do video a while back ua-cam.com/video/QdSrRxlRu-0/v-deo.html
That's a great question! We have never cleaned up there and Chris just took a look.... there is a small amount of grease, but not much for being used for 3 months. But, now Chris said she'll start cleaning up there as well!🤣
On the avocado spray, we got a refillable pump up sprayer to control the additives. And on the greens spoiling, place a paper towel in them to absorb the additional moisture.
Could a Prevost conversion bus boondock where you were? I kd live to boondock more but im afraid 50K pounds might eliminate most places. My wife would be happy to see that case of wine. That's a key item to have on hand at all times. Her shirt says Coffee Wine Cocktail Wine Wine More wine
It was pretty good in the BLM spot outside the park, but it drops to zero about a mile or so inside the park. We have t mobile and Verizon and both worked great. Have fun on your trip!
Please take this as a joke as it is totally meant to be funny.... wasn't going to subscribe until you opened up the door and I seen that box of Hooch... that's when I decided we must be friends... great video thanks for sharing
The end of the video where Aaron is picking out those needles from your sneakers was highly disturbing but adorable too. I’m thinking the footwear is not safe for Joshua Tree. If something like that stabbed me on a hike or run it would be game over for me!
Wife and I are watching and she loves this segment. Quick question on the Furrion rear camera. Do you get decent reception and how does it show at night; my current knock off rear camera is awful at night, headlights show as a white-out And can't see anything. Anyway wife loves Irene's tips on the Air-fryer. We have one here in our home. Thinking buying one for our new TT . We're moving up from our 19ft to a 22ft Imagine xLs. Anyway love the new power-source.
The Furion back up camera comes ‘standard’ on all Outdoors RV Titanium models. I also installed the side cameras and have great reception and views both night and day. Bonus, the back up camera also has sound!
Hello! I would say the Furrion has decent reception and resolution. It dosen't blow me a way, but it is very helpful and usable. We don't drive a lot at night...but I think its just OK in the dark.
🤣 Gotta keep everyone guessing!🤣 Its funny you mention this though ,because that is exactly why we are starting a second website and channel called Healthy RV Living. There we will be able to post the food and fitness guilt free! The website is launching this month and it might take a couple months to get the videos rolling out!
SAME! I thought I was the only one season of food in the air fryer because of not wanting to dirty up another dish and for quickness. I’m just trying not to eat out. Also I do rotate in my breakfast menu. This week it’s smoothies for a couple of days. Last week it was vegan breakfast sandwiches. Air fryer tip, Are you recycled aluminum foil that I get from Whole Foods. It’s thinner so when you boil it up it doesn’t take as much mass. I don’t use it all the time when I use my air fryer but if I’m using something that is definitely going to leave mess, I will use aluminum foil. Also if you take biscuits and wrap them in aluminum foil you can bake them in the air fryer.
😀 Happy Saturday/Sunday!🤣

Just discovered there are parchment liners that look like big coffee filters for inside the air fryer basket to keep from having to clean them after use, thinking when boondocking and saving water is essential, this could really be a good thing. Just an idea!
We just saw those on Amazon as well.....pretty cool! Something to consider for sure!
BS & BK
Well we appreciate you watching Larry! BS & BK!
I changed to a dc 12 volt fridge I’m very pleased very low power consumption and it’s a regular fridge I run it on solar only my outside kitchen fridge is the same both on solar
I have 500 watts of solar
Ouch! Those cacti! Beautiful area to walk/run! I agree, Chris, I would rather cook in the Air Fryer than microwave. Thanks for the cooking ideas!
😳🌵🤣
Thanks Joyce! Air fryers rule! 😊
In 1962 I lived in S. California with my parents, and we used to go Shooting out where you are! Now live in Mesa Arizona
😊Thanks for the tips, Sandra!
New dawn power wash spray will clean that air fryer right up. Spray it and leave then wipe.
Got my spot for beachside state beach San Diego for this July. I love camping and being outdoors. Nothing better than California in the summer time!
Sounds like a great spot, enjoy!
Looks amazing! Do you know when the cactus bloom in Joshua Tree? Seeing a desert in full bloom is on my bucket list.
Thanks Joyce! I do believe it is in the late spring early summer and it does need enough rain to make it happen. Needs to be wet season!
Great video. That OutKast shirt is dope!
Thanks!
Congratulations on your new trailer and welcome to the ORV Family! We have a 2020 Glacier Peak F28RKS Titanium - Love it and the brand.
Joshua Tree looks like a cool place.
I hear the 12volt compressor refrigerators are great.
Trail running does start with a single pair of shoes lol...and then you need all the gear. Trail runners are badass!! Go Team Irene Iron!! 😎
It does escalate quickly doesn't it!🤣 Thanks Shelley!
That shot out of the sunroof was great
😊 thanks!
Fun video guy’s, thanks for sharing, those cactus in your shoe though, ouch!
Thanks for watching!
I love the Outkast shirt
My first thought viewing this week’s video was how much more comfortable Aaron looked driving the rig than he did just a few months ago! Hooray!! Chris is one tough cookie with all those burrs stabbing through her shoes and a smile on her face. Are you still running the Dometic CFX3 55 IM in the truck in addition to that absorption fridge?
Thanks Rachael! We are starting to get into the groove! We are still using the CFX for grocery shopping, over flow items, and extra drinks. It really is great after a long hike/run and we have some cold bevys waiting for us!
Have you tried using fans inside the fridge to circulate the air?
No we haven’t tried those yet, but have heard some like them….
Eggs can and should go at the bottom of any refrig for food safety and they don’t need to be as cold as eggs can keep 70 days.
Good point! We might be able to shuffle stuff around, but will have to be carful we don't freeze whatever goes in that spot.
@@IreneIronTravels I would put bread products as they will act as a buffer. Cheese. Definitely not veggies. Cabbage can survive but that it about it, I have this issue with my house refrig.
Finally starting to catch up on your videos... Wish your channel allowed for notifications! But looking good!
Hey Paul! Yeah, I still don't know why it doesn't show notifications for you. They pop up for us...... its weird...
What is the shade you pulled down when leaving your trailer??!!!!! 😮😳
🤣 It's just a blackout shade that is above the door. We don't have a shade in the door, so the manufacturer mounted one above it like our other shades. Hope you guys are doing well! 😊
@@IreneIronTravels I told kasey we need it!!! Genius idea! We had a shade thing that velcros to the window and it melted the window plastic!!
Perfect timing on this. We are going to Joshua Tree next week for the first time where exactly were you camping, please.
That's awesome, you'll love it and room for any size rig. www.campendium.com/joshua-tree-south
I found it, if I only looked. duh!🤓
😁
This is the link to the exact model we have. amzn.to/3KHHDLI
Stay safe and take care!
I was reading some reviews of certain brands..... You don't have a melted plastic smell cooking with it
Oh, no that wouldn’t be good! No weird smells that we’ve noticed. It actually smells like the food you are cooking within in a couple minutes. In a good way!
Hi Guys,
I noticed in this video a quick view of your internet equipment in the window.
Awesome!! Thanks!!
Have you tried the Dawn spray? That will reduce water too.
We haven't tried that yet, I'll let Chris know, thanks Jane!
We were wondering how you Secure your trailer while you’re gone
We use a pretty beefy trailer lock. amzn.to/3AbOMiz
It's pretty safe in areas like this.....but you never know!
Do you need to clean the inside top of the air fryer? Does grease splatter up into that area? Thank you for your great content!
That's a great question! We have never cleaned up there and Chris just took a look.... there is a small amount of grease, but not much for being used for 3 months. But, now Chris said she'll start cleaning up there as well!🤣
I think the fryer tends to burn off whatever hits the top - not 100% but to a good degree.
Curious about your solar set up. What size system did you build and did you go with lithium batteries?
We actually just did a video on that if you want to check it out. ua-cam.com/video/10zhTGlKQGY/v-deo.html
810 amps of lithium and 1200 watts of solar.
This was a very good video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
What brand is the air fryer?
🤗🤗 I'm a happy Pivoine !!!
☺ thanks Pivoine! 😊
On the avocado spray, we got a refillable pump up sprayer to control the additives. And on the greens spoiling, place a paper towel in them to absorb the additional moisture.
Great tip on the refillable pump! We are also firm believers on the paper towel trick! 😀
Could a Prevost conversion bus boondock where you were? I kd live to boondock more but im afraid 50K pounds might eliminate most places.
My wife would be happy to see that case of wine. That's a key item to have on hand at all times. Her shirt says
Coffee
Wine
Cocktail

More wine
Thanks for sharing. Do y’all have a drone? Do you ever plan on going to Utah? Love your channel.
Thanks for watching! We do have a drone, but don't use it as much as I'd like. We love Utah, and look forward to going back as it warms up!
LOL A case of wine for those extended desert stays
Where did you get the cover for your bikes?
We got that one on Amazon! amzn.to/3tClhFA
Thank you for another wonderful video.
Our pleasure, thanks for watching!😀
How was the cell service out there ill be in the area early February for the king of the hammers race.
It was pretty good in the BLM spot outside the park, but it drops to zero about a mile or so inside the park. We have t mobile and Verizon and both worked great. Have fun on your trip!
@@IreneIronTravels I appreciate the info safe travels!
Dang, that looked like a lot of wine 😂. Party at Joshua Tree 🍷🍷
Don't want to get caught dry out in the desert!🤣
@@IreneIronTravels 🤣
Great video thanks!
Thanks Patty!
Ok I'm hanging with yall. Wine!
😊🍷
Y'all need a dog to clean that pan for you! Of course you still have to wash off the dog slobber but they do a good job of prepping pans for washing.
Great idea! 🐕🐾
I didn't see any electric bicycles from you guys?
Looks nice, but I still haven’t found what I’m looking for.
Whatcha looking for?
@@IreneIronTravels (It's the 2nd song from U2's "Joshua Tree" album. "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For." :)

Got it on Amazon! amzn.to/3xy4tE5 😊
..cool video keep up the great content.. Thank you…
Do you worry leaving your trailer behind
No, not really. But, we do have a tongue lock on it as well.

Great tip, thanks Rose! Chris is really loving this air fryer!
Hey! Why does the woman get the same amount of food as the man!?! :-) I don’t want Aaron to get hungry.
