Very cool air shuttle! Did you know, that VAL originally stood for the route of metro of Lille? It's full name was "De Villeneuve d'Ascq à Lille", which meant "From Villeneuve d'Ascq to Lille". After the tests in Lille, this french invention became popular not only in homeland France (e.g. Paris Airport Shuttles, Rennes Metro and Paris Metro (currently only lines 1, 4 and 14)), but also in other countries around the world, like Turin, Nuremberg, Copenhagen (the first system to have non-VAL automatic system, with cars produced by Hitachi Rail, opened in 2002), Macau, Sydney and Budapest (which has one of first Polish automated trains, the Alstom Metropolis produced in Chorzów) and improved the mass production of PEDs (Platform Screen Doors), which where invented in 1965, in Russia, which are now used in Saint Petersburg Metro. Also, are you watching the opening ceremony of 3rd European Games, which're held in Kraków? They are now playing the Kraków bugle call.
Lines 1,4,6,11,and 14 of Paris metro don't are VAL.THey are only metro on tyres. The technology used is from RATP .Lausanne ,Montreal ,Mexico and Santiago ,etc.... use the same technologie. Val is different and it's a light metro or a skytrain (we can see him at Tai pei or in Korea)
Toulouse Used the same technology its the second val metro system in the world (orlyval was before toulouse but its not a metro) Also VAL is not a french invention its siemens one which originate from another country near france
