Hobgoblin for sure. He's been one of my favorites since a kid. Which is why I went from excited to depressed after seeing this figure. I just want a good Hobgoblin man.

Same, Hobgoblin is my favorite Spider-Man villain. All I want is a good Hobgoblin figure. Since he was in the new Spider-Man comic run, maybe Hasbro will make a new Hobgoblin figure.
I feel like this figure is the poster figure for half of ML these days. It's a ' starter 'figure! Yay! No paint, basic sculpt, no accessories..a suggestion of the character. Little to no accessories. Bc I get the activity of boiling and pop swap / kitbash from my ML collection at home, finish or fix paint issues, hunt down previous character , in this case

places like Can of Beams. Then I have a finished figure! That's what I ask myself when I bring Marvel Legends home. What will I have to do to fix, finish or buy to make it a complete, fun, toyetic figure? Smh * opens up 'clown make up' shop * I'd gladly just pay $15 - 20 more for just a well though out, quality assured, Deluxe representation of the character.

Green Goblin is the only character between the two to be depicted in media by Willem Dafoe, so that's a pretty clean sweep. Godspeed, Spider-Man.
Venompool wave was the last time I bought a full wave of Legends, and I only got Lady Deathstrike since then. They're really plummeting in quality.
Still got my toybiz spider-man classics super possible hobgoblin and I love it!
The thing that really bothers me is how the foot doesnt stay in the glider. Plus the Glider should've been bigger.
The thing i liked the most is that you tore the figure down and when you got to articulation, it still is better than the beloved retro Spider-Man body mold. 🤣 Gosh i wish Hasbro and all the shill reviewers watch this.

I gotta go with Green Goblin because He just has such an interesting philosophy like most people like Dr Conners or Sandman see their abilities as curses where as Green Goblin sees them as gifts
The symbiot retro Spider-Man was the first Marvel Legend figure I ever bought because of the nostalgia of the original Secret Wars comics, and I was enjoying the figure not having experienced any other Marvel Legend figure, or any other to compare it to. Anthony, you comparing the articulation of the symbiot to the Hobgoblin makes me SO disappointed in the symbiot retro Spider-Man. I even bought a custom battle damaged head for the figure. I feel like selling it now, and waiting for the Mafex symbiot Spider-Man from BBTS that I was luckily enough to purchase as preorders popped back up. Thanks for the excellent review, yet a sad review/comparison of my symbiot retro Spider-Man vs this retro Hobgoblin.

I do like Green Goblin but I’ll vote Hobgoblin, I just wish they’d make a head sculpt of this guy with the shadowed face and red eyes though.
For me, the old Hobgoblin is a pain in the ass to track down on the secondary market. Haven’t checked the prices since this guy released but I dread it now.
That’s why I picked this guy up, but yeah. If I open this figure I’ll end up buying custom stuff for it, or seeing if I can paint it.

I got the Toy Biz one two years ago for $30 loose, decided to pass on this guy and I'm glad I did.
This figure is so bad and somehow it's still the second hardest to find in the wave God knows why.
QotD: It's a tie for me. I like Green Goblin as a character but I prefer Hobgoblin's design.

This looks like a Burger King toy compared to the toybiz version. Look at Anthony’s review on that one it looks so awesome.
Marvel legends got worse and this figure is a perfect example. I can't even properly place my figure on the glider
Toybiz 20 yr anniversary Cap, retro Rhino , Shocker (minus no net pattern paint), Punisher on bike, Jigsaw, Black suit Spidey all solid .. some are better than any older ones and some are trash, it doesn’t make any sense consistently. Old Man Logan is probably one of they’re best which is considered newer so idk what they’re doing lol

The fact that for a simular price neca can pull a lot more paint and sculpt gives hasbro no excuse why figures from marvel legends look like crap.
The few NECA I own have really really weak articulation. May as well be statues.
@@imnotsickler well it depends on what figure u order from them and when it was produced since back in the day neca did basicly statues with 4 or 5 cuts for basic rotation and that's it.
So some of them have really good articulation like godzilla 64, most of their aliens and frankenstein but there are some that are more limited like figures of classic horror characters like myers.
Comic or animated color is just a way of saying we are too lazy to paint it better. We know you will buy it because you want the original and it’s now going for a lot on EBay.
That’s why I end up buying it. It was either this or not have a hobgoblin in my collection. I would do what Anthony does which is customize it but the head sculpt is ugly and it’s just not worth my effort to black wash it.
Green vs hob goblin? Obviously the sweet spicy chili doritos.

LOL, the intro 😹. At first I thought you were just too exhausted from your new baby to pick him up but then I realized you be dissin Hobgoblin. I pick Hobgoblin simply because the name is fun to say. Thanks for the review, knew this figure was radioactive crap from the first released pictures. Too bad because Hobgoblin was great and quite fleshed out in Spider-man TAS thanks to Hamill's solid voice work, even as a kid I recognised him as Joker. Toy Biz also really invested in his merchandise (which was better than this one even though he could not turn his head and had a really witch like nose) with the extra seperate superglider vehicle.
I'm still voting Green Goblin all the way, specifically crazy-black-circle-around-the-eyes Harry Osborn, from the 90s cartoon. I badly need that extra unmasked crazy Harry head for my ML legends retro goblin figure (Toy Biz had an evil Morph like that, which I loved as well cuz it had like 4 swappable heads) Harry went batshit crazy that episode and it left a severe impact on my nine year old self, it was tragic as hell. Him being the only one that could see his lost father.

@AnthonysCustoms, Question - if Marvel Legends had to release the Hobgoblin figure, would you say the team should have just reuse the previous mold since they used it for Green Goblin already just repaint it to orange and the blue instead which would have saved them more money?

I’d have to say Hobgoblin. I like the design, the name, and I love that he’s voiced by Mark Hamill in the 90’s animated series.
As for the figure, I would’ve loved it SO much more if it was just a straight recreation of the Hobgoblin from the 90’s animated series (like the retro Venom that was Hasbro Pulse Exclusive). Because this figure just doesn’t do it for me, especially since it is next to impossible for him to properly stand on his glider without it falling off constantly. Not to mention the glider is very small when it should be much bigger.
We are witnessing the beginning of the end for legends. Been a collector for years and it’s hard watching this line take such a dive.

@@AnthonysCustoms I would never try to argue it’s perfect, but on a shelf with animated inspired figures, it does the job compared to the 2016 Hobby I own. Honestly my main issue regarding the animated series look is the cape they went with.

I ended up basically repainting this entire figure. I tried to do a wash on it in parts and unfortunately that made some of the injection spots show through.

As soon as this was revealed, l was sure this would be a miss for me. As for price, look at mythic Legion they have new PO'S & they are still $37, for that you get accessories, paint apps, a proper collector friendly box. Wait till you review the Scorpion in this line.

Hasbro has their hands tied with the marvel figures. If they make good joints and paint then they won't match the other ML on the shelf.

I needed a hobgoblin and bought this dumpster fire. Luckily due to the economy I was able to finally snag the prior version. This guy is going to the freebie auction on ebay!
Man I was really disappointed with this figure, when I was a kid, I was obsessed with the show this is from and I was obsessed with spiderman, I always wanted toys based on the show but they weren't a thing, to get this I was so excited but man was I disappointed, he can't even sit on the glider properly and I mean they got openings on the glider where his feet rest but his feet don't have peg holes to put him on some sort of stand and keep it in place, very disappointed. Green goblin btw, he's superior.
I bought the whole wave and yeah this is terrible,can't even put him in the glider, gonna sell it, Green Goblin forever!
i prefer Hobgoblin to Green Goblin, but i do not care for the coloring of this particular figure.

They probably thought they could rush this out, slap it on a retro card and the color scheme alone would just attract kids. And few would notice. Minimal effort.
We used to get way cooler action figures then these back in the 80's and 90's in our happy meal when we went to McDonald's.
It does matter if you want it for your collection, I'll buy all yours from you that you don't want that way I don't have to buy them brand new how about it?
The ToyBiz Hobby will stay on my shelf. Tho the Space Venom wave version isn’t terrible.

I got myself the Toy Biz Hobgoblin and Display him in My Spidey Shelf and the new Hobgoblin I keep in package and got him hanging up the wall just because the packaging is cool! But the figure itself is a pile of garbage and an abomination! Not accurate at all, face doesn't look like the cartoon version, glider is also too tiny and his feet need to be forced so you can put hobie on the f*cking glider! The first hobie I got I sold because I opened it and regreted it immediately! And the new Spidey mold isn't that impressive! It could have been a lot better! Thanks for the review Anthony! I was waiting months on this review and now it paid of hahahaha!

Ive been waiting 7 months just for my symbiote Spiderman only cuz I wanted a black suit spidey. I know the rest of the line is trash as well as most other ML figs. If I had to pick id stick with Neca toys give them a try at Marvel. You pay $36.99 for so much better figures single card or box figures

Totally green goblin. 100% for me. And it really is getting tiresome paying all this extra high $ amount for these figures today when seems figures of the past had better sculpt, paint, detail then those off today. Only thing better today is the articulation and photo real which they got to cut down on the shiny faces.
Good thing I still have my Toybiz hobgoblin I got for Christmas years ago. Because I refuse to pick up this ABOMINATION!!! 😡

Let's face it... These retro carded figures have become Hasbro's way of repainting and repackaging previously released figures into stealth apology figures that for the most part try to correct the mistakes of the original release. That's right, Rhino! We're all looking at you!! In this case, Hasbro actually made Hobgoblin worse!! I don't know what I was thinking hoping for a better head and untattered cape but this figure not only did NOT give us that but it actually took away the scale texture and gave us a paint job a Happy Meal toy would be ashamed of! I don't know what it is about the Hobgoblin that Hasbro just refuses to do a good figure of that character!
It looks like no paint was apply at all. They just use reuse parts molded it that color. Hasbro was thinking how we can make this figure as cheap as possible because people will buy it because they’re missing Hobgoblin.
Yea I was initially excited, but the deeper the line went the more disappointing it got. I ended selling them all and replaced them with Diamond Select versions.
People out there buying 2 of everything so they can keep one on card and open the other for the shelf.
The shoulders aren't even on the correct sides. If they don't care about their product, why should I?

No Joke, Brother, we carry the same rating system that stands as it should be. A 7-rating is a modest buy. Anything beneath that is where the buyer questions if they choose to Buy these cheaply made figures. I'm tired of this lame cheap plastic Hasbro uses that shatters or tears in hot or cold weather.
This figure, at first sight was seen as immediate trash. I think you're going to have to do a video expressing your rating system over each line. A Seven in Legends is a Nine in McFarlane or, something in your sense of rating these figures. If you're going to be Rating Cake, rate how Legends are closer to the end result of a flush in the toilet

Update I ended up cutting the clamps off took an razer and put holes in the board and added pegs he has peg holes on his feet let's not give him pegs on his board but fixed it makes me hate this figure less lol
